StardustGender:Male
Species:Unicorn
Mane:Cyan and blue/purple.
Tail:Matches mane
Eyes:Green
Body:Dark blue with white hooves. Tall, not particularily musclebound, but in surprisingly good shape for a Unicorn.
Cutie Mark: A large white star surrounded by four small blue ones.
Age: Young adult.
Personality: Motivated by a strong curiosity of the world around him, Stardust has a tendency to get distacted if he comes across something new or something he doesn't understand, usually dedicating his full attention to it unless something even more interesting comes along. Although this can seem rude to ponies who don't know him well, he cares strongly for other ponies and will always prioritize his friends if something serious happens.
Notoriously pacifistic, it has happened on occation that he's stepped in to take a kick for another pony, rather than to risk harming the offender, but he will generally try to resolve situations peacefully before the need for such dire messures arise.
Although he generally seeks out ponies that are known to be intelligent, educated or otherwise well read, Stardust also prides himself in trying to get along well with anyone.
Likes: Exploring, reading, being with friends, and sour but sweet apples.
Dislikes: Violence, lies, seeing other ponies unhappy.
History: Growing up as an only foal in a poor family in Manehattan, Stardust did his best to stay out of trouble, helping his parents by earning a few bits showing tourists around in the market district and generally tried to stay away from the gangs other foals his age tended to join. Life was simple, but not terribly exciting. Then one day, a visiting astronomer from Canterlot offered Stardust an introductory book in astronomy as payment in lieu of spare change. As he got home and started reading, Stardust was awestruck by the world of knowledge revealed to him.
The stars he could see from the city parks in the evenings before the lanterns came on were so much more incredible and complex than he had imagined, and it was only part of the skies known to all ponies, and what else could be out there in the world he had yet to see? Motivated by this new discovery, he worked to raise what money he could before he set off, promising to his parents he would write back to them whenever he could, and left for the Princess Celestia's school for Gifted Unicorns in Canterlot. Sadly, he did not have enough talent in magic to pass the entrance exam, but he began taking jobs as notefoal for different lecturers and scholars, taking notes, finding books in the library, and assisting in what way he could with ongoing studies. Earning a reputation for being hardworking, bright and polite, he was eventually allowed to join on missions of exploration, seeing far places and odd creatures in Equestria and beyond.
Now, a few years later, he comes travelling to Ponyville, hoping to find someone that will help him study the mysterious Everfree and the strange creatures that dwell within.
Example RP segment: It was an overcast day in Canterlot. The last few days of sunshine had left a sweltering heat, and the pegasi had annouced that a rainshower would follow later today to cool things down and water the gardens. Stardust trotted down the street, hoping to make it to the library before the worst of the downpour started, when suddenly he stopped dead in his tracks and his ears pricked up. Above the sound of hoves as other ponies rushed past him, he heard the telltale sound of sobbing. Following the sound around the corner, he found a small foal, crying. The foal was a pegasus filly, seemed to be about a year short of when she'd expect to get her cutiemark, and was making loud sobbing noises intermittedly, causing breaks in the flow of tears.
Kneeling down with his front legs, Stardust magiced a handkerchief out of the pocket of his vest and held it out. "You alright, kiddo?" The filly looked up in surprise, tears halting for a moment before the reached out for the handkerchief. "...No..." she said, as the tears returned. "I've lost my mommy...". "What does she look like?" "...Mommy told me not to talk to strangers..." Stardust stood up and walked over to the street, looking both ways. Although the crowd had thinned, he couldn't see anyone who looked like a mare looking for he foal. "Well, I can't just leave you here, it'll start raining soon." With his magic, he picked the filly up and place her on his back. "Hold on, I'll take you to one of the guards, they'll help you find her." He smiled back at her. "Besides, maybe we'll be lucky and your mommy will spot us on they way." The filly didn't answer, but gave a little smile despite the tears as he walked back out on the street with her.
