Personality: She is a bright little filly, making her a bundle of energy and pleasant to be around. She loves to sing, play games and loves meeting new ponies. Sometimes she can talk too much, and has a hard time keeping quiet. Her abundant energy makes her a bit of a handful to look after.

History:
Kiwi was an orphan from the start of her life, only having been a few months old before her parents were tragically taken from her in sickness. It was only a miracle she survived it when she caught it as a foal. After that, she was placed in the Ponyville orphanage away from Cloudsdale, in hopes that a pony family would adopted her into a good home. Most of the friends she has made were adopted out, but as fate would have it, she seemed to have the short end of the stick.

Despite the constant loneliness she feels, she makes it a point to wear a smile on her face and be happy since that is what kids do. Despite what others may think, she is exceptionally bright. She learned to read at an early age and found that she could sing rather well. Thus, she vowed one day to make a career of her singing. Until then, she would work hard to keep a smile on her face despite adversity.

She was left behind with very little of her parents' memory, all the she had was two pictures of her mother and father. From what little information she could gather, her father was a comic book artist who came from the city of Rodyo (Tokyo, thus implying a kind of Japanese pony) and her mother was a singer from Stallionholm (a weak play on Stockholm, thus implying a Swedish type of pony) that moved to Cloudsdale right after their marriage. She keeps the pictures of her parents in her heart locket with the Alpha symbol on it, opening it only when she feels lonely and misses them.

Her dream is to find a loving family and learn to sing as well as her mama did. (Implying her eventual cutie mark). (Also this explains her unusual name: Kiui, Japanese for Kiwi, and Mynta, Swedish for Mint).

While in a city on a field trip with the orphanage fillies and colts, she could not help but wander away. She had never been in a big city before, so her curiosity was too much for her to handle. Smiling to herself and humming a song, she trotted away from the group, promising in her mind that she will be right back. Her ears had caught a small yelp from an alleyway that made her a tiny bit worried.

She scouted out the area by flying a little to cover more ground when she came across the bully. The other filly cried out again.

"What're you looking at?" the colt demanded at Kiwi.

Kiwi stumbled back, slightly frightened but regained her own footing. “You'd better go away before I get the police ponies!” she threatened.

Not wanting to tangle with the cops, the colt bolted from the scene, leaving the two fillies. Kiwi walked over to the filly and patted her back with her hoof. She smiled at the filly, reassuring her that everything was going to be okay. She walked the other filly to her group who had, by luck, walked not too far away and told one of the ponies in charge, and they helped the filly find her way home. Even though what Kiwi did was brave, she still earned a scolding for wandering off in the big city. She bore it with a smile, knowing that her new friend was alright.
