Personality: Friendly to all, but with a wall separating her from the world. Her cutie-mark is a speech-bubble, signifying her useful vocal abilities: she can communicate in various languages, easily picking up on foreign tongues and her voice can become so loud, it has caused her and others serious trouble in the past. Despite her supposedly wonderful communication skills, she has trouble bonding well with other ponies, preferring to make many acquaintances rather than close friends.
Likes: Trying new things, especially food.
Dislikes: Being touched or seeing others in distress.
History: Born and raised in Canterlot, Shout went on to school, studying pony culture and politics as her parents wished. She quickly found she had a knack for communication, often making a good negotiator, and never had a problem understanding others from foreign lands. Sadly, Shout took a long time finding her cutie-mark because, though she enjoyed communicating with others, she could easily lose control of her temper if someone drew too close, putting a damper on the formation of close friendships with a voice loud enough to shatter concrete structures. After making it most of the way through school, it came to her that she wished to work with other ponies in politics, being a translator for foreign visitors. Talking to and learning about other ponies became her passion, and with her wish to be a translator in hoof, she bid her parents goodbye and set off for Manehattan.
Example RP segment: Trotting off the over-filled train with a breathy sigh, Shout glances around her new home, Manehattan. She smiles to herself, stifling a yell of startled terror when another pony nudges past her. Shivering slightly and shrugging off the sensation of being touched, Shout canters up the steps and out onto the city streets. Blinking slightly in the sunlight, she looks down the street, seeing something that only makes her tail bristle: a little foal has been left on the street, sobbing. He has obviously lost his mother. Shout quickly trots up to the little guy and bends down to nuzzle his head. "What's wrong, little one?" she asks softly. "Have you lost your mother?" The little colt looks up, still crying. "There, there. Let's see what we can do." Bending down, Shout picks up the little baby in her teeth, carrying him down the street. She continues until she finds a policepony and asks where the police depot is, following the complicated directions, getting only slightly lost twice. After a long trot through downtown Manehattan, avoiding the dark alleys and dreary side-streets, Shout arrives at the Police Department. Going inside, she asks an officer about any missing foals or worried parents and is directed to a rather frantic-looking mother and father. Shout clops up to them and their worried faces turn to relief as the foal reaches out for them. She gives him to his parents and smiles happily at their reunion. She nods her head at their thanks, "You're very welcome." and "No trouble at all." escaping her lips as she turns and trots out of Police Station and out to the street, looking for her new apartment.
Acceptance.
