Stargazing

It was a beautiful night. The perfect night for Lunar Star. The sky was clear, the sun was going down, and she had nothing to do. This naturally had her bouncing down the street towards the park. She was going stargazing you see. Lunar was obsessed with astronomy and magic and how the two could possibly relate to each other.

Bouncing down the street, Lunar could feel the glares from the richer and snobbier ponies. Her constant happiness had gotten her a bad reputation among the Canterlot Elite. She was always the party animal of the city. much like the hyper-active pink mare she had heard about from Ponyville.

Lunar had been practicing her magic a lot recently as well. mainly teleportation. which immediately became useful. she had accidentally tripped on something. before hitting the ground, she had instinctively poofed to a nearby spot. and she actually landed on her hooves this time. She's getting better.

Thunderclap walked slowly down the street, welcoming the cool evening air. His work done for the day, he was heading towards the park to clear his head and relax. He did not care that it was late, this time of day having no effect on him. Perhaps, if he was lucky, he would be able to glimpse at some of the beautiful stars that were there.

Thunderclap jumped back slightly when a unicorn mare poofed only a few feet away from him. He was not scared of the mare herself, but her sudden appearance startled him. The mare seemed to be going in the same direction as him and he decided to pick up his pace o trot next to her. "Beautiful evening for a stroll." He said to her.

The fact that Lunar had somehow managed to go without falling over something or somepony yet was amazing. her clumsiness matched her enthusiasm.

"Beautiful evening for a stroll."

"Yes it is!" She said, bouncing on her hooves. "I love the nighttime because I get to see the stars! I wish I could see the stars during the day, but then it would be too bright!" She stopped herself suddenly and covered her mouth with a hoof. She was rambling. her mother hated it when she did that. "Sorry, My name is Lunar Star! What's your name?" She immediately regained her hyper-activeness and was practically bouncing on her hooves.

Thunderclap let himself chuckle and the hyper activity of this pony. "Well, my name is Thunderclap. It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Star." He said, extending his hoof. He did not use any official titles that he may have had, not every pony in Canterlot needed to know exactly who he was.

"Well, it is quite the coincidence. I am going to go see the stars myself. Would you care to accompany me?" He asked, extending a hoof.

Lunar made a pony laugh! Yes! well, it was more of a chuckle, but it was good enough to make her plenty happy. "It's a real pleasure to meet you Thunderclap!" She said happily while violently shaking his hoof. She always loved meeting new ponies. making them smile was more exciting though.

"Well, it is quite the coincidence. I am going to go see the stars myself. Would you care to accompany me?"

Lunar's eyes went wide at this. nopony had ever offered to go with her before. she might have finally met a pony who hadn't heard the negative comments about her. "That would be great!" She exclaimed happily. "I've never gone stargazing with another pony before, much less a Stallion!" After saying this, she poofed onto the stallion's back. "A rather large one at that!" poofing back down to the street, she turned towards the park. "Let's go!"

Thunder's eyes widened a bit as the mare poofed onto his back. He let his feelings away with another chuckle. "Well, Miss Star, let us be off quickly. We want to see as much as the stars as we can, right?" He asked. He then got right up close to Lunar and began to walk.

As they were walking, Thunder decided to strike up a conversation. "So tell me Miss Star, what do you do here in Canterlot?"

Lunar was unusually happy. which was a little hard to tell considering she always acts a lot happier than everypony else. prancing down the street next to a strong stallion was a great feeling. She'll definitely have to stick with him.

"So tell me Miss Star, what do you do here in Canterlot?"

Grinning at the stallion, she happily begins. "I spend my time studying Astronomy and magic. I've always wondered what it would be like to be in Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, but I never took the entrance exam!" She said, grinning like a little filly. "How about you?"

Thunder gave a weak grin. Here it comes. He should have expected this, considering that he did ask her profession. "Well, I work with my grandfather. He was a former General, and now acts as an official advisor for the military and the Royal Guard." Said Thunder, smiling at Lunar, hoping that his profession did not put her off.

He shuddered slightly. "It is getting quite chilly. There is a nip in the air." He said, tilting his head up.

Lunar grinned really wide at this. "ooooh, so you're a military stallion? Gotta love a stallion in uniform!" She said while practically bouncing. (as usual). Lunar always admired the guards. She probably would've tried to be one if she knew if they took mares or not.

"It is getting quite chilly. There is a nip in the air."

come to think about it, it was a little chilly. "A little bit, yup!" looking over at the Stallion, she decided to do something uncharacteristic of her. as she pranced along, she got closer to the stallion's side. her side was nearly touching his wing now. looking up at him, she grinned really wide. "Body heat! Nature's jacket!" She said breaking out into a giggle-fit.

Thunderclap blushed when Lunar mentioned loving a stallion in uniform. He blushed even more as Lunar pushed up against him. "Well, if you are chilly, just ask for this." Said Thunder as he extended his wing and draped it over Lunar, pulling her close. "There, nice and snuggly." He said, smiling at her.

Thunder continued walking, the beautiful mare pressed up against his side. He smiled and sighed in content.

Lunar blushed a lot as the Stallion wrapped her in his wing. it was very warm, and very sweet of him. nopony had ever shown such interest in her before. She was used to making others smile and getting little to nothing back. This feeling was very unfamiliar.

"There, nice and snuggly."

"Yeah!" She said happily, still blushing. She had stopped prancing, because she was preoccupied with enjoying the warmth of Thunder's wing.

Thunder smiled and pulled Lunar closer. It was a nice feeling to be so close to a pony and enjoy it. He stayed quiet for most of the walk, enjoying the warm body pressed against him.

They made it to the park quickly. "Well, here we are." Said Thunder, sitting on a bench and keeping Lunar warm under his wing.

As Thunder pulled her closer, she couldn't help but close her eyes and smile. He was quite the stallion.

Arriving at the park, Lunar stayed under Thunder's wing. he was too warm to leave. sitting on the bench, Lunar looked up at the stars. he usual smile had disappeared. her face was blank as she looked up at the stars. they were so pretty. twinkling silently in the night sky. normally, she would just sit and think, but she was not alone tonight. she quickly forgot about conversation though, and just leaned up against Thunder as she stared at the night sky.

Thunder put his arm around Lunar as well as his wing, pulling her super tight. He looked up at the sky and stared at the stars, but was paying more attention to the beautiful mare in his arms.

"The stars are quite lovely tonight." He said, turning his gaze towards Lunar. He smiled and her and pulled her close.

As Lunar stared at the stars, she noticed her eyelids were feeling heavy. letting out a quiet yawn, she looks up at Thunder. "Yes, they are." Lunar's hyper-activity was completely gone now. She was too tired to even think straight. "I come out here every night I can.The way they shine in the night sky..." She said, closing her eyes. "it's mesmerizing."

and just like that, she fell asleep.

Thunder did not notice Lunar fall asleep at first. He continued to sit there on the bench and embrace the pretty mare. It was not until about a minute or so later that he realized she was asleep. Not wanting to wake such a sound sleep, Thunderclap hoisted her onto his back, secured her in place with his wings, and began to slowly walk back to his house.

as lunar slept, she had the strangest dream. she was with the stallion she had just met, and they seemed very happy. at the end of her dream, she saw a little filly. the filly called Lunar her mom.

as Lunar woke up from this dream, she found herself in a rather large room. the royal blue blanket that covered her had to be about the size of her room back at home, so she was obviously in the home of a much richer pony. looking around, she saw three cases. one had armor in it, one had a dress uniform for a stallion, the third had a sword.

Was she in the home of the Stallion she met last night? it had to be him. all she remembered from the night before was sitting on a bench wrapped in his wing and staring at the stars. seeing a giant bookcase, she bounds up and quickly prances over. "So many books...." She said, grinning like a filly.

Thunder opened the door to his bedroom, seeing that Lunar had now woken up and was gazing at his bookshelves. He quietly entered the room, a mug of tea grasped in his hoof. He sipped it and walked up behind Lunar.

"Well, it seems like you're awake. I'm sorry I had to drag you here. But you kinda fell asleep on me and I don't know where you live. You also seemed so peaceful that I couldn't dare wake you. So I brought you here to sleep in my room." He said smiling.

As Lunar was looking through the multitude of books, The stallion walked in. so she was right. that stallion had brought her here.

"Well, it seems like you're awake. I'm sorry I had to drag you here. But you kinda fell asleep on me and I don't know where you live. You also seemed so peaceful that I couldn't dare wake you. So I brought you here to sleep in my room."

Lunar blushed at this. He was really sweet. "it's quite alright. That bed has to be the most comfortable bed I've slept in for a long time." She said, still blushing. Then it hit her. "Wait, this is your room? Where'd you sleep?" She asked, tilting her head.

Thunder smiled. "Where did I sleep? I slept in the guest bedroom. I thought you would like the larger more comfortable bed. The bookshelves would be good for you too, I figured." He said.

He took a sip out of his tea. "Well, it is bright and early. Would you like to come to the kitchen for some breakfast?" He asked.

Lunar blushed some more at this. he gave her his bed for the night so she could be comfortable. This stallion just gets nicer and nicer. "That'd be wonderful." She said. her hyper-active side must not be fully awake yet. she's yet to randomly teleport somewhere today.

Following the stallion, she really admired his place. it was huge! She had only seen places like this from the outside as she practiced her magic. She never imagined she'd be inside a place like this. let alone be falling for the Stallion who lived there.

Thunder walked down a large hallway towards the kitchen. Normally his grandfather would have the servants cook the food, but Thunder hated being waited on hoof and hoof. Instead, he will make the breakfast for Lunar, just like his mother made for him.

They entered the kitchen. Thunder immediately got out pans. "How do pancakes sound? I can put blueberries or chocolate chips in them if you would like. It's no trouble at all." He said, smiling.

Sitting in Thunder's kitchen, Lunar's happy side was officially here. practically bouncing while she sat, she grinned at Thunder like a young filly. "Chocolate chips would be great!" She said happily. as she sat, she looked out a window to see where she was.

to her surprise she wasn't too terribly far from home. it was just a couple blocks at most. "You're place is amazing!" Lunar said happily. "I've never been inside a place this big!"

Thunderclap smiled. "Well, chocolate chips it is!" He said, pulling out a bag of chocolate chips. He quickly whipped up a batch of pancake batter. He pured the chocolate chips into the batter and turned on the griddle. While he waited for it to turn on, he turned his attention back to Lunar.

"Yes, it is a big place. Also very old. Build up over generations of my family. You could spend all day exploring it and seeing all the treasure and antiques we have about. We also have the library where I spend most of my time."

Lunar was literally bouncing in her seat now. She was having breakfast with a rich stallion who was working with the guard? How cool was that!

Lunar stopped bouncing as her eyes widened and her ears perked up. "Library?" She said grinning like a filly. "You have your own library?" this was immediately followed by girlish squees and more bouncing.
