Pretty up the forum! YOU pick how it looks.

Hey guys. For those of you who have been here a while, you can tell things look......the same.

I think its time we changed the place around and gave it a face lift. Thats why I am asking YOU to tell me what you think is best! Find background images and theme colors for the forum! Tell us what you think here!

Also we need a new header. We think it would be best to do art of the current staff we have(6-7). Anyone who is willing and able to do so would be awsome!

...Whats that? Your art isn't good enough? Shush! Speak up and at least give it a go! Let us know you are interested!

As for colours, my suggestion is just something a little darker. Right now it looks too chalky and bright, which also limits the colours that can be used for fonts in the chatbox.

I can't draw very well, so I'll leave the header up to someone else. Also, if I did it, I would never get it done. XP

I don't really know for headers. There's quite a few good one's out there, but I'm not very good at hunting them down XD

But for the color scheme, I agree with Amber. Maybe we could try finding something that synchronizes a bit more with the color palette we have to choose from for our text, because some of the colors are blinding (like so) or invisible (like this BUT ON YELLOW).

As for drawing, I'm not even going to try. *folds arms*

I can try drawing the Staff, but it might take a week or so, as I still have school. We could also use that picture 1nc drew (I have it on my computer if you want it), because it's pretty good. Maybe switch the new reply buttons to Celestia/Luna, Twilight/Rarity, or Pinkie/Applejack? The color scheme shouldn't be too dark, but yellow and lime is a little too bright. Maybe sky blue and green?

On another note, we should add more places for people to have the option of RPing in, like a vacation section for countries like The Crystal Empire, Saddle Arabia, Zebrica, and Griffonia.

I fully agree with a change in this forum's color scheme. Right now it's a bit too...ncf oln, in my opinion. I'm not really sure what it could be changed to, but I think a lighter color scheme wold work better than a dark one, as Calla suggested.

As for the header, I really can't say I have a solid opinion as to what it should be changed to either, but I think it should do a great job of expressing the members of this forum, what they're like and who they are, somewhat similar to 1nc's picture that Calla posted. I myself am the type of person that can't draw a straight line with a ruler, so don't even think about asking me to draw, but I find myself to be fairly good at virtually editing and recreating existing pictures into new ones.

That's a good point. It would also be entirely possible for us to display sample layout themes so that we as a forum can choose what looks best.

Sketch: Good for header? If so, I'll color and finish it. Some details like a couple cutie marks didn't show up, but they are there.

I think that we should have more neutral colors, like something like this so that we can see all of the neon text colors too.
Once you pick the new color palette, you should then pick a header that would compliment it.

I haven't been here very long, but I still want to help. Personally, I'd probably go for something where there's a Dropbox available and you can select whichever them you prefer. If I could contribute something to said drop down, I'd probably do something mechanical, showing the age this RP is set in (I think I read somewhere this is at the start of the industrial revolution?)

As for a header, I could try, but I'll probably end up with potatoes. I might be able to convince a friend, but no promises. :P

Darn thing doesn't tell me the topic gets posted in. Anyhow, looks great! I like Fritz's art there but what about meeee? I wanna be in it too!

I think the color theme will be greatly influence by the new background picture we will use too. But we haven't picked one yet. Any of you have anything in mind? What do you guys got? Surely we can 'borrow' art from somewhere.

What about you Kore? What about me? I wanna be in there too!

On a side note, Creative Commons is a great place to look for free to use art.

Koooore... My picture has Shala top center... Along with all the other mods and admins.

Keep in mind, guys, that we don't necessarily have to superimpose our drawings over a "borrowed" background.

The background i was refering to is the forum one, not the actual header background. That background I think will have a big impact on the color themes we use.

So, I moved Blind Side to the top of the picture, because he is now an Admin. Do you want me to color it yet, or no?
