(formerly Junior Captain) Momento MoriGender:Mare (Female)
((Name comes from latin for “Remember your Mortality.”))
Species: Pegasus
Mane: Short in the front with a long braid in back. Dark burgundy with black highlights.
Tail: braided like mane, same color.
Eyes: Pinkish red, large bags under eyes.
Body: very lean and sinewy. Strong for a mare (from military training.), she has a bit of her ear missing from the event with the Manticore
Cutie Mark: A pony skull. ((Commonly used in art as a "Memento Mori" a reminder of mortality.))
Age (Baby,adult): Adult (28)
Personality: Memento Mori is a very nervous, high-strung mare. She tends to over think very simple things and points out flaws and contradiction easily. She is prone to hedonistic outbursts, sleeping around, gorging on food, and staying in bed sleeping. A majority of her psychological problems come from PTSD due to the near death experience she suffered at the hands of a Manticore. She has a phobia of Feline creatures and is prone to mental breakdowns when one is present.
Likes: She enjoys sleeping (with or without a mare or stallion), eating, drinking large amounts of ale, and being in situations that will not result in her death. She finds poetry very relaxing, and when stressed will recite a couple lines of any poem that comes to mind. Hospital rooms and beds also make her calm (White sterility.)
Dislikes: She has a phobia of cats (house cats, lions, panthers, Particularly Manticores), She also has a fear of forests and night-time. She hates ponies who are overly reckless and stupid, and a deep-seated hatred for military personnel. She also is terribly afraid of being caught and tried for desertion.
History: When Mori was a filly, all she ever dreamed about in school was to become a knight in shiny armor and save some damsel in distress. She worked her entire childhood towards becoming a Guardpony and keeping the peace.
When she enrolled as in the Guard's academy, she was beyond ecstatic. Still without her cutie mark, she was thrilled when she was assigned a special outpost just inside the Everfree Forest.
To her, this was an opportunity to prove herself and gain her cutie mark.
One night, the other recruits dared her to go out into the night to fetch some arbitrary plant from the forest, and things quickly took a turn for the worse. Alone and unprepared, Mori startled and was attacked by a Manticore, and was seriously injured. When she was found the next morning, her wounds were so grievous that she was rushed to a hospital.
She was put in a coma for three months due to her injuries.
Upon awakening, all her heroic ideals were gone. she woke from her coma a shattered, scared, fearful mare. All to aware of the possibility of her death.
She gained her cutie mark when she awoke and escaped from the hospital with her armor, some fatigues, a few bits to her name, an a crippling fear of dying.
After a month of running from town to town avoiding guards ponies like the plague, she settled in a cheap, inconspicuous little flat on Rose Street in PonyVille.
Example RP segment:((Situation number 3))
Momento Mori ran through the rain slicked streets of PonyVille as if Nightmare Moon herself was after her.
She did not like thunder. It was loud and horrible and 1 in 700,000 ponies were hit by it a year. Her hooves striked the muddy cobblestone as she looked for anywhere, anything to hide her from the storm raging above her. She was hopelessly lost in the very town she lived in.
"Oh Celestia oh please stop it I don't like thunder please stop it please I don't like it oh Celestia." She tripped and fell into a puddle, crying out in pain as she sprained her hoof. As she lay in the muddy water, crying in a fetal position, she heard a bell signal the opening of a door.
"Hey... are... er... you a loiterer?" If OzyManedias had a stick, he would have poked the huddled mass. He didnt know what to do when a mare had a mental breakdown on his porch.
"Do you want to come inside?"
Mori nodded in her stupefied trance. OzyManedias helped the customer into the Rose Street Cafe.
Mori instantly became more composed when she was seated at a table with a warm cup of tea with a healthy serving of liquor.
"Thanks, guy." She muttered as she sipped her Hot Toddy. "you're alright."
"Why were you running around in the rain? Deus meus. Its always the crazy ones."
"Crazy?" Mori tilted her head. "I ain't crazy. Everypony
else is crazy."
OzyManedias rubbed his temples as he listened to the rain outside. "of course you're not."
A thunderbolt ripped through the sky, and Momento Mori lept under the table.
Acceptance.
