The Old Switcheroo

Smiles trotted down ponyville Main Street, a spring in his step as he went. He said "Howdy!" To everypony passing by. He just couldn't get over how beautiful Equestria was! The landscape, the weather, the ponies. He sat on a bench, eating a sandwich. An absolutely beautiful day if he did say so himself. He saw a few mares passing by. He gave them a smile and a wave. One giggled, the other rolled her eyes. Ah well, half ain't bad.

He went into a cafe next- the sandwich just hadn't cut it. He ordered a coffee and sat at the desk admiring everything he had to see. Suddenly, he was struck by inspiration. He took out a notepad and started sketching ponyville Main Street. Of course! He'd capture the beauty of Equestria here! It had the foliage, the ponies and the weather! Absolutely perfect.

Smiles intensely sketched the place, then started thinking of what style to use. Realistic or abstract? Well, he wanted to show his love for Equestria in one painting. However, nopony sees the world the same way. He could show everypony what he saw through abstract, with bright colours and pretty shapes like something out of a hullucination. Then again, it would be interesting to see if they see a realistic painting in the same way as others. Decisions, decisions.

Smiles slicked back his glorious mane and made his eyes very visible- he was always told they were his most striking feature. He didn't necessarily want anypony but he liked to look good.

Iced staggered into broad daylight, looking very much like one who had drunk too much cider. "Ugh, my head," he grumbled, trying to steady his legs underneath him. "That was some wild party last night. Wish I got that blond one's number." Regaining most of his physical faculties, Iced started on a steady trot towards his favorite cafe, the Simmering Bowl. A good bowl of stew would be perfect for curing his hangover.

He spots a blue earth pony intensely sketching something in his sketchbook and is instantly intrigued. "Hey there, pal! Whatcha drawin?" he said with a grin, plopping himself down on the other side of this mysterious pony. "Hey waitress, gimme the regular!"
