A new neighbour

A pink filly came trotting to a cottage in the middle of Ponyville.She was dragging a large bag filled with her belongings,and a key was also in her mouth.While she was putting the key in the lock,she dropped it,and couldn't get it due to the bags.She then heard a pony coming trotting up behind her."Oh Hello there! Could you help me get my keys?" She asked,gesturing to the keys.

Shala was on her way back from the shopping area, a single bag with her that had a few bottles in it. She about passed the alicorn when she heard the call for help. In her head she debated pretending she didn't hear it, but something told her that this pony may not be one of the 'crazy ones'.

With a shrug she came over to the alicorn and put down her bag and magicked the key to unlock and open the door. The whole time she was silent, not saying anything and looked mildly irritated as she always did.

"Thank you! My name is Star Burst! Im new here" She explained.She carried her bags into her new house,and then stepped outside."Whats your name?" She asked the filly who had helped her get her keys back.

Shala blinked, seeming to flinch at her blunt cheery mood. It seemed to radiate from her and it only made Shala want to roll her eyes.

"...Shala Woods." She said simply, neither smiling nor giving any indication of any interest.

"Thats a nice name! Do you live around here?" She asked

"On the inner edge of town..." She answered just as flatly as she had before. "But i work at the tavern." She wasn't sure why she added in where she worked to a complete stranger.

"Hmmm... I might stop by the tavern some night while I am out star gazing!" She said happily

"Careful you don't drink too much. You might fall over backward while stargazing." She smiled slightly. Shala had firsthand experience in that matter.

"Thanks for the advice!" She said."Wait,do you know any shops or stalls that may sell telescopes and such? I might be needing new things,because some of my items may have been damaged while I was moving",she explained.

Shala shrugged. She didn't think she knew any places that had those here in Ponyville. "Not sure. I am still new here myself by a few weeks. You could always have something shipped from another city."

"I suppose so.I heard there is a huge shop in Canterlot that sells that kind of thing" She said.

Shala shrugged. "Probably. I think that librarian here had one too. She might be able to tell you. Haven't bothered to remember her name though. She is purple..."

"Hmmm... Ok! I will try and find her! Thanks!" She smiled,and trotted into her door."Bye!" She said,before closing her door.
