The Rift

A loud crash could be heard from one of the houses. A crash that was then followed by Noble flying out the door, landing with an audible thump on the street.
"Bro!", yelled Sky as she rushed out after him.
"It's okay. I'm alright.", he said, rubbing his hoof against a small cut on his lip.
"And I don't want to see either of you punks ever again!", came a loud scream, followed by the slamming of a door. Noble didn't begin to think. He just subconsciously trotted in the general direction of the train station.
"So, uh. What do we do now?" Noble gave a quick answer. "You come live with me, in Ponyville. We'll never have to see those two ever again.", Noble said, putting more force in his hoof-steps.

Shinygear was trotting through Canterlot. He had come to look for materials he needed for a large wagon fix up and was looking for possible yard sales with cheap prices. As he trotted along, he saw two ponies he recognized only as Noble Shield and Sky High. Noble appeared to be on the ground. "Oh my gosh..." he said to himself as he galloped over to see what had happened.

"I'm fine. Or I will be, as soon as I leave this place.", Noble quickly snapped. "It's good to see you here, Shiny.", greeted Sky. Noble didn't have time to greet. he couldn't remember the last time that he had been this angry. He turned to Sky. "They've always been like this haven't they?" Sky simply looked to the ground, and nodded. "Sky, can you explain this to Shinygear? I have to think." Sky nodded and turned to Shiny. "Long story short, big bro tried to convince mom and dad to let me stay with him, and they kicked us out." She looked at Noble, who had stopped paying attention and was lost in thought. Again. "I think that he's taking it harder than I am."

Shinygear look shocked when he heard the news. "Wow...that sounds rough..." he said, sitting down next to Noble. After a short silence, he looked down. "I dunno what I could do to help..." Shiny finally said.

Noble quickly spoke up.
"You can help by going on and continue with what you were doing. Don't worry about me. I just have some trust issues. And I trusted these ponies for twenty years." Noble sighed and looked at the ground. "I just need to rethink my standards on who to trust, is all..."

Shinygear stood up again, looking a little uncertain. "Alright, man. I'll go. See you guys around, and...good luck." he said, trotting away. He looked back at the two, then looked foreword once again.
