Just One Sip

Aaah the tavern - a common place for when one just wants to relax and enjoy themselves with company. Or without. A busy day, with ponies sitting at tables chatting, some taking sips from drinks. others unfortunately sitting by themselves. There was a tang of cider in the air, and more so upon reaching the counter, where the bartenders were dealing with their customers.

The doors opened, and a large stallion walked in. A brown coat and dark red mane, he held a stern expression on his face. Almost stoic, as he took steps forward, those glass-covered eyes examining the ponies laughing and drinking away. Step. Step. Against the wooden floor did the stallion with the wrench cutie mark trot, until at last did he reach the counter, sliding himself onto a stool.

"Cider," was all he stated, placing the bits onto the counter, calmly closing those eyes to focus on adjusting the scarf around his neck to cover his wound there, and fix the glasses on his face. A thud soon followed before he was able to redo the last knot, the drink being placed before him. He didn't smile, but rather grunted and pulled it closer to take a simple sip.

A midnight blue pegasus sits next to him, laying his head down on the counter, either unconsious or in deep thought. The answer of which is quickly answered as he looks up in order to take a sip of a drink infront of him, yawns, then lays his head back down again in a curious fashion.

Of course the stallion was thinking up ideas for where he was going to go eventually, but no one else would know that, unless they were able to read minds. As he sat there thinking, his tail swayed lightly, brushing against the floor in a sweeping gesture, much to the annoyance of a pony on the other side of him.

The stallion twitched at that sudden brushing, rearing his head back from the drink for a single moment to crane his neck to the side, eyes glaring at the pegasus next to him. His ears twitched, and Wrench lowered his head to speak, "Perhaps keep your tail to yourself," he spat, rearing a hoof up to prop his own head up as he continued, "Personal space is a valuable thing, so stop messing it up and interfering with mine."

With a huff, he turned his head around to begin ignoring the blue pegasus. Unless he continued. At that thought he sighed and contemplated moving places in here. With that, he took a gentle sip of cider.

Gemini mumbles a quick apology, keeping his head down as he continued to think. After a couple moments, he raises his head to take another sip of his drink before turning to Wrench." Sorry. But did you have to be rude about it?"

"Being rude and stating the truth are often assumed cousins," Rusty Wrench replied with a roll of his eyes and a single huff, "but they're not. Some ponies just can't handle it when someone states the obvious, now can they?" He frowned, taking a whiff of what the pegasus was drinking, before rearing his head back and taking another gulp of his own drink, tail lightly swishing side to side against the wooden floors of the tavern.

He paused for a moment to adjust the glasses on his nose before lightly tapping his heavy hoof against the bar desk, very quietly, almost inaudible. "Have you have too many drinks or is that your first one? Your posture is incorrect and the way you're leaning forward against the counter makes it appear so."

"True, but there's a way to be rude and state the obvious, like how you just demostrated." The pegasus says as he turns to look at the other stallion, his drink watered down to the point it's hard to tell what drink it was supposed to be originally." And sorry if I didn't care to learn how to be a princess in kindergarten." He retorts as he takes another sip.
