Personality: Wind Sprint is really a big softie despite being a distinguished officer in the Royal Equestrian Guard. He is very protective of his family and is willing to do most anything to keep them safe, even more so of his son and will not tolerate his son being bullied or hurt. He's generally quiet and always has his guard up so he generally keeps socializing outside his friends and family to a minimum unless necessary. He does like for things to be kept in order but he is by no means a neat freak, it's just a habit he picked up as part of his job. He may be serious to the majority of people who meet him, but to those who know him are aware that he does have a fun loving side and can be a big kid at times.
Likes: Playing and spending time with his son, his family, flying and anything sweet
Dislikes: Reading reports (or anything boring sine he's retired), any type of gelatin desserts, bullies, snakes and beaches/saltwater
History: Wind Sprint's family was middle class and he was loved by both parents. His mother wanted more children but unfortunately she was lucky to have just Wind Sprint. His father was a metal worker for the REG and was a big fan of the Wonder Bolts, hoping Wind Sprint would become one, hence his name. Wind Sprint was a fast and skilled flyer as a child but he really wasn't interested in a career as a flyer. When he was 9 years old, his parents decided to divorce and he moved with his mother to Manehattan shortly after.
Two years later, his mother married a stallion with a young filly named Prima Bella. He quickly found himself in the role of big brother and happily accepted Prima as his little sister, playing with her and letting tag along with his friends when she wasn't at her dance classes. He actually didn't earn his cutie mark until he was about 15, he rescued Prima from a couple of older bullies from their school and when they ran off, his cutie mark appeared. Since then, he decided to protect others and his dream was to join the REG.
On the day he turned 18, he enlisted and joined the REG, moving back to Canterlot for training. After 6 years, he worked his way to the rank of captain and fell for a medic, one thing led to another and a short time later, WindSprint's lover had a son. Sadly she didn't want to raise their colt, only wanting to focus on her career and so Sprint agreed to raise the colt himself, taking a job within the REG that had less hours and allowed him to take are of his son. Now at 30 years old, Sprint has taken an early retirement after 12 years serving in the REG and moved to Ponyville with his son for a quiet and relaxing life.
Example RP segment:
WindSprint looked up hearing young and angry voices just around the corner from the home his mother and stepfather lived, stepping out to go and pick up some Canternese take out for dinner and leaving his son to spend time with his grandparents. He sighed and changed his speed from a walk to a brisk trot when he heard a smaller voice and sobs. Rounding the corner to see a colt standing over a much smaller filly. Sprint cleared his throat and fixed a glare on the colt just as he turned around.
"What are you lookin' at?!" The colt yelled, before it registered that he was staring down an impressively large stallion.
"I'm looking at an insecure bully who feels the need to pick on someone much smaller than him so he can feel good about himself," He said, stepping around to stand in front of the filly.
"S-So?" The colt asked, still trying to act tough.
Sprint dipped his head down, looking the colt in the eyes.
"Don't bully this filly, or anypony else or you will find somepony who will make you in the near future and they won't be as nice as me. Go home. Now," Sprint said, straightening when the colt turned tail and ran.
He looked back to the filly and gave her a disarming smile, lightly patting her back as she calmed down. This reminded him of when he would watch over Prima all those years ago.
"Okay little one, let's go find your mommy and ask her if you can get some ice cream," He said, standing and letting the filly lead him to her mother.
