Name: Fleethoof
Species: Pegasus
Gender: Stallion
Age: 19
Body: Red
Mane: Black-grey, often covered by grey cap
Tail: Black-grey
Eyes: Deep blue
Cutie Mark: Light grey humanoid foot with wing coming out of the ankle.
Personality: Fleethoof is a loyal, somewhat quiet pegasus who hates talking about himself. He will avoid conflict if possible but will fight back hard if threatened. Because he was picked on at home, he is self-concious and shy. Around females in particular, he rarely talks and doesn't look any pony in the eye
When he is around those he knows and is confident talking to, he is far more confident, able to hold long, deep and sensitive conversations for as long as his friend is willing to talk for. What Fleethoof isn't comfortable with is talking about his past.
If his history is brought up, he will want to change the subject and if he is continuously pressed for info he will walk away, regardless of who he is with. He has a fondness for baseball and running, which is somewhat odd for a pegasus
Despite preferring running to flying, Fleethoof can fly fairly well. After either going for a run or practicing a bit of baseball, Fleethoof can be found either regaining his breath on a cloud or at Sugarcube corner, typically the latter.
Likes: Baseball, going for a run, curling up on a cloud, most music, a good book, horror stories, The Wonderbolts, cake
Dislikes: Arrogance, large crowds, anything sentient that's taller than him, his family, Manehattan, disloyalty, one-to-one talks, females (More a fear of than a dislike, but...)
History: Fleethoof is the third in a family of 4, and the only boy who was in his family. He never knew his father and his grandad died before his birth, so even his extended family was exclusively female. Being the only male made him feel like an outsider enough, but his mother ignored him and sisters bullied him relentlessly. One of their favorite 'games' was to pin him down and dress him in girly clothing, makeup and all. Even his younger sister mocked him, despite being 3 years younger.
At primary (Elementary) school, he was an average student, but in secondary (Roughly middle-early high) school, he became really unpopular. For about the first month or so, he was teased for his effeminate frame, weak muscles and his lack of self-confidence. When students realised they could do what they wanted and he wouldn't fight back, things got worse. Fleethoof avoided what he thought would be the worst of it (Swirlies, spitballs and anything else water-based) entirely, through some fluke, but notes in his locker, stolen equipment and cruel taunts were a part of everyday life, not to mention his sisters being as vile as possible.
Once, on Hearts and Hooves day, he opened his locker to find a sealed letter. With both caution and anticipation he opened it to find a hoof drawn image of himself. Beside the picture was a note, saying "To the crossdresser Fleetfreak. Go find your dad and stay with him. Manehattan doesn't need scum like you. I feel sorry for your sisters. We hope you drink bleach and die, faggot. Love, the school"
Something snapped in Fleethoof that day. He stopped going home after school, instead going for long runs until late at night. He often didn't care how far he ran or for how long, he just ran until he physically couldn't go on. When he did get back, he simply hopped into the shower and went to bed, no-longer eating dinner or talking to his family. Despite the bother they gave him, his sisters noticed he was becoming more reclusive, but let him deal with it his way. It suited Fleethoof, who started to think of ways to get revenge. His solution in the end was to simply do nothing.
Soon, the red pegasus was able to sprint at top speed for about an hour at a time, which served him well in gym. While not strong, he could certainly outpace his compitors and ended up wrecking them at track. He started to gain something that he had long given up on - self-confidence. As he got faster and his energy improved to an almost indefatigable level, his circle of friends grew. He started to become more talkative and less reclusive, eventually to the point he could look a filly in the eyes. A friend of Fleethoof's suggested baseball, claiming "You don't have to hit it hard, just
run fast enough to get to the bases before the ball."
The first time Fleethoof hit the ball, it was a foul ball. As was the second. The third time, the ball went straight to the hooves of the pitcher, but he dropped it and gave Fleethoof enough time to reach the third base before he stopped. His next turn was better, with only one foul ball and getting to third base. Soon, Fleethoof was batting home runs that barely went outside the diamond. It was his impressive running and outstanding stamina that meant he came home every night with a goofy grin at the right time. Even though his sisters still picked on him and he was still getting notes in his locker, he cared less and less. The ponies who were so cruel before stopped trying because they couldn't even remotely annoy him anymore. Sure, he was still scared of mares, which lead to a lot of disappointment when some fillies tried to claim the sprinter for themselves. And he was still very shy, never talking to anyone besides his baseball buddies and teachers, but he was happy.
After some time, Fleethoof graduated and packed his bags. He put what few bits he had saved over his life and moved to Ponyville, where he currently lives
Example RP segment:
Fleethoof took a deep breath and growled back "Some young thug who should probably get going"
The colt sneered, but turned around and trotted off.
The young pegasus didn't even bother to check if the filly was ok. He hated this neighbourhood and would rather have got out as soon as possible. The filly would be fine.
