The Aftermath of the Dance: Take 1

Lantern Light, Ink Stain, and Candle Glow walked in almost a triangle formation down the hallway as they spoke. So far, not one of the trio had seen another in the school day, and now, as they walked to lunch, they were recanting events of the weekend. "Again, I'm super sorry I couldn't be there guys." Candle shrugged, hoping to show no hint of the kiss.
"Alrigh Canda, buh if ya don't tell me what ya did do Friday, I'ma not gun tell you what me an' Ink did." The cheesy southern land grinned, adjusting the iconic Fez he often wore because of his favorite TV show.
"You marathoned Season 3 of DW, and all the Lion Kings, went to the dance, then played D&D with the robotics club."
Ink nodded, being silent as usual, tired from staying up writing.
Lantern sighed, but it wasn't as if she didn't know, he was just a bit angered because they had always missed dances and done the same thing, ever since middle school.
Candle strode on ahead of them to avoid the awkward conversation, but, lacked in looking where she was going, and ran right into someone as she was walking into the cafeteria.

Sky looked up and saw Candle. She smiled. "Hey Candle! You going to lunch? Come sit at ou-" Sky said then was abruptly cut off by Frozen. "Candy!" Frozen yelled running down the hall with a huge grin, scooping her up into his arms and swinging her around laughing. "Hey!" He said with a grin. "Frozen! I was talking! Anyway, come sit at our table. Where is Speaker..." She muttered turning around to look for him.

Speaker was waiting in front of a Freshman classroom, " He should be out by now..." Speaker thought as the door opened up, "There you are, c'mon, we are already late for lunch." Meanwhile Upper Atmosphere just entered the cafeteria, she always did this, that way nobody would notice she entered. She got her lunchand sat down at a table at the corner of the cafeteria.

Lantern smirked as he watched the display. 'So that's where she was.'. Smiling genuinely, he offered a hand to Frozen once he released Candle. "I'm Lantern Light, Canda's Cousin." His voice carried a deep thick southern accent, thicker than sweet tea.

Candle laughed as she was swung, and had shrieked as she was scooped up. "Hiya Tramp. I think I'll take you up on that offer, Lant and Ink were going to a club meeting, some theater club or something. " Smiling she picked back up the lunch bag she had dropped, and looked up at Frozen. Which really, would be up, seeing as she stood only at a short five foot three.

Frozen grabbed Candy's lunch bag and swung her over his shoulder. "Yo! I'm Frozen! Nice ta meet ya." Frozen said with a little tip of an imaginary hat and his horrible southern accent. "Alright." Sky said. "We might as well wait at the table for Speaker and Inked. I wonder if Marcan's coming..." Speaker said as she walked to their table and saw Upper Atmosphere at the corner table. She walked over to her while Frozen was occupied with Candle. "Hi, why are you sitting in the corner?" Sky said sitting across from her. "Away!" Frozen said as he ran through the cafeteria Candy over his shoulder. Most people turned to look at him.

The whole time Sky had been approaching the corner table, Upper was getting more and more worried, she never liked strangers, or really talking to ponies in general, it made her very nervous. So as soon as Sky sat down, she got up and moved, finding another open table over by the lunch line.

Meanwhile Speaker and Inked just entered the lunchroom, "Now where is Sky?" Speaker said, looking around the lunchroom.

Sky shrugged and got up and moved back to their table. "Over here lazy pants!" She yelled waved to Inked and Speaker.

Candle just blushed and shook her head lightly as she was carried. "You're crazy." She laughed, waving over her shoulder and shrugging at Lantern and Ink, who just stared with amused smiles. It is likely both knew very well that Candle didn't care if she was being carried, she actually liked it a little, seeing as she was small enough for one to do such an act.

"I know." He said then stopping at the table and putting her on the table. "And we have arrived." He said with a goofy grin.

Speaker sat down with Inked at the table, "Sorry for being late, but this one was called after by the teacher," he said gesturing at Inked.

"Inked what did you do." Sky said playfully. Marcan ran in and slides into the seat next to DJay who walked in a minute earlier than him. "Hey guys." DJay said tiredly. Sky kissed Speaker then leaned back on his shoulder.

Candle smiled and looked around at the other people at the table, not really having met any of them other than Speaker, Sky, and Frozen. A bit intimidated by penetrating their obvious preexisting friendships, she simple bit into her apple, watching.

"I didn't do anything, I was just correcting my teacher on a mistake they made, where they tri-rooted instead of quadrooting, henceforth giving the entire class a wrong answer." Inked said.

"I guess you were smarter than the teacher." Sky said with a shrug then noticed Candles quietness. "Sorry Candle. We didn't introduce you to our friends." Sky said looking at Frozen. "This is DJay. Inked over there is Speakers brother." Frozen said.

Candle nodded, giving a smile to the group. "Howdy! I'm Candle Glow, or rather Candy as some call me, and Glow as a random few insist." As she spoke she pulled the remainder of her lunch from her bag, noticing that she accidentally had put two cupcakes into her bag, and thus, she offered one to Frozen.

"Well hello Candle,"Inked said.

Meanwhile Upper Atmosphere was watching the group from her table, wishing she wasn't so shy so she could maybe join them.

Frozen grabbed the cupcake and kissed Candy on the forehead. "Thanks." He said and grabbed his bag and pulled out some hay fries. He started eating them happily. "OK, does anyone else but me notice that shy girl?" Sky said pointing at Upper Atmosphere. "I do!" Marcan said. "I-I noticed her eh-when I w-walked in." He said.

Upper noticed the attention get drawn to her, "great... I'm the center of attention" she thought.

Candle smirked and gave her most encouraging smile to Upper. "Are you a freshie? I think ive seen you around, but only recently. Correct me if I am wrong, but did you come to the art club informational meeting last week?"

Upper looked up to see someone start talking to her, she seemingly cowered in her seat, "I-I'n not a-a Freshie, a-and I don't g-go to in-informational m-meetings" She said, stuttering out of shyness.

"Well, why haven't we noticed you then? We know practically everyone!" Sky said. "Come over here." Frozen said patting the seat next to him. "Yeah, c'mon Freshie!" Djay said. "I'm gonna call you Freshie." DJay said. "Why...." Marcan said in an almost mew.

"U-u-h-h-h-h-h, n-n-n-no th-th-than-nks, p-p-please." Her stuttering was worse, and that last word came out in a barely audible whisper.

"Guys," Speaker said, "I think we're making her nervious."

"You talk to her then genius." DJay huffed then stole someone's blueberry muffin from across the cafeteria. "Sorry if we are." Sky said, voice subtle.

Upper Atmosphere let out a small whine, and then started sweating extremely with her face getting a bright red.

 "Guys, I think she is having a nervous reaction..."

Candle practically stood, leaned over the table and attempted to ruffle the girl's hair. "Sorry~ I like trying to make other's smile, it's kinda my thing. I'm in my third year. "
