Dawn DropsclickGender: Very much female.
Species: Pegasus
Mane: Red and indigo; often in a thick braid. Her fringe, however, is straight as her tail.
Tail: Refer to above
Eyes: Dark green
Body: Light grey that could easily be mistaken for white. She has a tall figure along with princess-like structured wings, and she likes to joke that she might be related to the princesses because of them.
Cutie Mark:Four dark yellow dots, each connected by green lines. Represents her talent for connecting the dots, or solving mysteries.
Age (Baby,adult): Adult
Personality: Kind and honest, but a killjoy at times whenever somepony says something illogical. She likes sticking to tradition, at least unless she absolutely must break it. When on a job, she is very strict and serious, but when just roaming around, she acts casual and friendly. Independent, she dislikes working in groups and, when she must be in one, she tries to establish herself as a leader. Or, if not, then at least somepony to be respected.
Dawn usually wakes up early, sometimes awaking at sunrise to watch her namesake.
Likes:-Flight.Dawn believes it's just instinct among pegasi to love it, especially with a pure pegasus family tree.
-Reading.She makes frequent visits to library and bookstore because of this. Why does she like it? She can experience great adventures, all without the actual danger and pain coming with them. (She also secretly enjoys picking out any mistakes.)
-Puzzles, riddles, etc.She enjoys seeing whether she's smart enough to solve them. More often than not, she is, though riddles requiring her to think out of the box aren't her forte.
-Dawn.Refer to mane and name.
Dislikes: -Trains.Dawn has a very strange aversion to trains. Why? Nobody knows. (Though a psychic she went to once claimed that "her creator needed an explanation for those thousand times she wrote her off as flying all the way to other cities.") She suspects it may be because of a spell some criminal she was chasing cast.
-Snails. Mainly because of the trail of slime they leave behind. They just couldn't evolve to somethig cleaner, could they?
-Idiots and braggarts. Often, she'll put them down when she gets the chance to. "If you're going to claim you're amazing, try graduating high school first." - that's what she said to a particularly annoying one, once.
-Running. Her wings may be strong and large, but her legs are not. Running, even if for a while, leaves her exhausted and panting for air.
History: Drops was born in Manehattan, maintaining a generally good relationship with her parents, though she was far from close to them. Most of her spare time would be spent doing sudokus and puzzles rather than bonding with her family.
Her name was gained for two reasons - first, her mane. In some lighting, it looked to be light red and purple; the colours of the sunrise. Secondly, she was born just before dawn, and when she was birthed, she cried. A lot. Her parents swore that Ponyvillians could hear it all the way from their city. But when the sun rose, she instantly stopped. And she smiled.
At school, she excelled academically. She enjoyed figuring iut Mathematics problems and every piece of creative writing she made was bound to have a developed plotline. She was very much a teacher's pet for most of her classes... though Physical Education was an exception. She is amazing in flying now, but in her youth... Not really. Her wings were large for her body, and her legs were weak.
She gained her cutie mark late to tell the truth, at about fifteen years. Her parents were protective, so she had no chances to go out and discover her talent. But it came to her one day while at school.
Dawn was accused of theft by a classmate named Dark Splatter, who claimed that she had taken a valuable necklace. It certainly didn't help that the two were enemies: it gave her a supposed motive on top of everything else. Not to mention that Dark had proof; evidence that could be disproven if she tried hard enough, but that could very easily be considered valid.
Her teacher told her: "If you can prove you didn't do it, then I'll let you go. Otherwise, it's you." Dark Splatter was popular among the students, so on top of the hours of detention, her reputation would be severely damaged. Determined to disprove her involvement, she went off, trying to find proof that it was not in fact her. She started with what was already given to her: the clues that apparently proclaimed it was her fault. First off, the red-and-purple hairs found.
She studied the hairs and compared them to her own, and to her dismay they were definitely hers. The thickness, the colours, everything indicated that they were hers.
Upon undoing her braid, she noticed that a chunk of her mane was missing, gone in a deliberate slice. From this, she concluded that she had likely been purposely framed, and by a unicorn at that; how else would someone manage to cut off the lock of her mane without her noticing?
She narrowed the list down to about ten ponies, the unicorns that had any reason to be in the classroom, from a table the principal gave her on all the students on request. Dawn checked on all their magic lessons, trying to avoid talking to any of them. Not because of any real reasons, just the fact she just really didn't like any of them.
It took hours and much reasoning meaningless out of context to learn who the culprit - a green mare named Blazing Emerald - was, and when she did, her flank glowed with what would be her new cutie mark.
Fast forward to the future - Dawn Drops has matured into a full-grown mare, with great flying and intellect. Not wanting to constantly depend on her parents, she began to search for a job. All things considered, she was a great candidate for many occupations; shouldn't be too hard to find a decent-paying one, right?
Wrong.
Her job interviews at first seemed to go well, but for some trivial reason, they would end terribly. Eventually, she just took on the first thing that paid bits and that she met the requirements for.
More specifically, she saw a wanted poster and decided to go after the criminal in question. Out of luck, much help from others, and her intelligence, it went well. (Well enough to pay for the medical bills after the dangers she went through, anyway...) Confidence boosted, she tried for another one the next time she had the chance, after her injuries - several torn-off feathers and a fracture front hoof - healed.
And that is how she earns her income - bounty hunting. Whenever a good one comes up, she'll go after a criminal or solve a case or help find some valuable missing thing, as long as there's pay involved.
Example RP segment: (#5)Dawn Drops flew cheerfully through the streets of Manehattan. Usually, she would walk on such a short trip (her legs needed the exercise), but as it had just rained, she didn't want to risk accidentally splashing mud against her body.
When she heard whimpering, Dawn tilted her head, turning towards the source. Two ponies, probably foals, were in a corner of the alleyway. One a colt, one a filly. It was apparent that the latter was being bullied by the former. "What're you looking at?" snapped the colt.
Dawn blinked, then turned her gaze to a puddle in which she could see her reflection. "I'm looking at myself," she replied. "Also known as: Mare who's apprehended hundreds of criminals before, of which could defeat a thousand of you without batting an eyelid."
This was a hyperbole; she was a successful bounty hunter, sure, but hundreds of cases were pushing it. She continued anyway, "Not to mention personal friend of the police and capable of flying over twenty miles an hour." The first statement was a lie. She could easily recognise some of the officers, sure, but she doubted they could with her.
She looked up at the colt then, and flicked her head to tell the filly to leave the moment he was distracted.
"Done with your little-" Dawn held up a hoof and stuffed it in his mouth, flaring her wings to show them off.
"Oh, but I guess I wasn't looking at that when you asked. I was looking at you. Pegasus with tiny stubs of wings that would need much magic to even lift you off the ground." The colt sputtered, seeming like he was about to punch her in the face, but the space beside him flashed and there was a pop.
The filly had, apparently, teleported away.
Dawn shrugged at him, unable to suppress a smug smile, before flying off.
