In ????, War was Begin.

Shala tried hard to suppress her giggles. She knew exactly where this was going. She turned to be face to face with Iccy.

"Well...I think this mare you speak of would love to have a chance with you. Heck, she might just like to have some fun with you." She smiled at him with bedroom eyes.

Shields stood straight at attention and saluted with respect to the Colonel. "Thank you Colonel. Ill see to it that somepony gets on that.....Though i do bet you play a mean game of chess." He smiled before waiting for the Colonel to give him leave.

Icarus blushed bright red, before nodding. "S-S-S-Shala... W-Would you b-be my s-special s-somepony?" He asked, eyes closed tightly, almost afraid this was a huge joke. A huge, Huge, CRUEL joke.

Indigo saluted him back. "Dismissed, Captain. And sometimes I do."

Shala blushed to herself for once. It wasn't like her to get so soft, but Iccy was hard to resist. "Hehehe....Sure Iccy." She said before giving him a kiss.

Shields completed his salute and turned to leave. He needed to revise a few things. Not all the tanks were needed, but there had to at least be five of them ready. That and some filing through potential crew.

Icarus' Legs would have hit the underside of the Tank if he just didn't stiffen at the spot, bright bright red, Eyes wide, and the silliest smile on his face that could be seen. In a word, he was happy.

Shala smiled and gave Iccy a friendly nuzzle. "So Iccy, got an hour to waste?" She said and advanced on him.

[Timeskip Time!]

Shields was one of the first ponies up that day. He had a bit of a hard night to sleep. Today was the day. Once he was up and ready, the first thing he did was send out a pony to get all the ponies he requested roused and the tanks prepped.

The Captain donned his belt, complete with his pistol and ammo. He put on a vest with more pockets of things like maps and what an officer will need. Finally he donned his officers cap. While it was not really needed, it gave the troop a bit of boost to see their officer with them. The bars on his shoulders were not so easy to tell in the heat of battle, and most of his time would be spent with the tanks anyhow. This was an armored division after all.

Captain Shields gave himself a last check in the mirror to make sure he looked the part before going outside, fully expecting things to have already began their prep. The tanks having to be fueled, loaded with shells, and troops equipped.

Shala let out a pleased sigh as she woke up. The blare of a trumpet was hard to not wake up to, but after last night she didn't mind it. Yawning and stretching she looked about, wondering where Iccy was.

Most of the tank crews were milling around at the point Shielder walked out. Some were doing last second maintenance to double check the mechanics' repairs. It was a well known joke that most of the mechanics didn't know what they were doing.

The paratroopers were all present, some of them were already in their harnesses. A unicorn officer was helping the complement put their battle saddles on, already equipped with dual small caliber machine guns A couple in the group were instead hovering above the ground holding their rocket launchers. And there was one who thought it was a good idea to smoke around an area full of explosive ordinance.

Icarus was mumbling from the floor, having rolled off in the middle of the night, already standing up blearily. He smiled when he saw Shala, Instantly understanding that no, Last night WASN'T a Dream. He trotted over and gave her a nuzzle, smiling softly.

The Captain paced about, checking on things, making sure all was in place. He marched up to the pony smoking near the explosives and smacked it from his mouth before putting it out. A few disciplinary words were given along with a salute before he went on about his business.

It seemed everything was comming together, but he had one problem. One of his new tank commanders was no where to be found, and so was one of his mechanics.

"You, soldier. Where is Staff Sargent Woods and Specialist Gear?"

Shala groaned herself awake. Her back was killing her. A quick look around told why. They were on the grass, and the tank that was over them was now gone. "Shit. Somepony could have ran over us."

Icarus nodded, Looking up. "G-Good thing it d-didn't..." He said, stretching a bit.

The soldier in question was one of the flyboys carrying an anti tank weapon. He struggled to salute the captain without dropping it. "No idea, sir."

"Find them." Said the Captain before turning to find the Colonel. Things were moving along rather smoothly otherwise. It would be ready in time.

"Colonel?" he said with a quick salute upon finding him. He had nothing much to report other than things going well. It was more simply for the sake of reporting to him before things got going.

She looked up at the sky. "Shit. What time is it? We have to get geared up or the Captain will have our heads." She quickly got up and tugged at Iccy to get up as well so they could get ready.

Icarus nodded simply, Standing up and quickly grabbing the rest of his gear. "... R-Ready t-to go to w-war, S-Shala?" He asked quietly, Attaching the myrad bags.

He saluted him back. "At ease Captain. Is everything ready to proceed?"

Captain Shields rested his stance. "They will be ready to move in less than an hours time. We wait on your word till that time and the operation will be in my control thereafter."

Shala blinked for a moment, surprised to see Iccy already prepared. She almost forgot that he just about lived out here with the tanks with all his knowledge on mechanics. "Let me grab my stuff. You get in the yard and look ready. Ill see you there in a flash!" She said before darting off.

Icarus sighed softly, heading toward the Yard. He shuffled quietly, feeling sheepish that he slept in. He stood quietly, waiting for Shala.

"If everything's set to move in an hour's time then I transfer command to you. I have other operations to oversee."
