New Town, New Life

"Wow! The town's bigger than I expected!" Starflower gasped as she started towards the location of the Golden Oak Library. She was in complete awe at how bustling the town was. Coming from the Big Apple, she never thought she'd adore a more rustic lifestyle. But she was doubting that thought, now that she saw the ponies preforming their daily routines. As she trotted past the Sofa-and-Quill's shop, she decide to stop by the fountain and eat the lunch she packed.

   As she unpacked her lunch, she looked around. She saw bees pollinating flowers, which she identified as Bluebells. She watched as bunnies hopped around, following a butter-yellow Pegasus with a light pink mane and tail. When she turned her head, she saw three fillies playing with a dog. She turned her head to a beautiful flower shop. She made a note to visit there as often as she could. She started to eat the hay sandwich she had unwrapped, humming a small song she had heard.

"Find you got the music..." She softly sang. While she enjoyed singing, she felt she wasn't a good vocalist. She continued singing softly in between bites of the sandwich. She also made sure no pony could her, because she'd never be able to explain why she was singing.

Switchblade would be resting against the fountain, keeping an eye out on his surroundings, having to do some guardwork of the nearby shops for a client of his, he always kept a smile on his face however, no matter how dull the work.

Metal was just on his way home from buying some materials for the workshop, when he saw a new face.
He stopped and looked at her for a while, he stepped closer, "Hello madam, ive never seen ya around here, are you new to ponyville? he sayed with a light irish accent.

Starflower stared at the pony that had welcomed. "I'm good. What about you?" She started hummed again, quite loudly this time, and she didn't see the unicorn on the other side of the fountain. She pulled the hood of her sweatshirt up over her head and ruffled her feathers.

Switchblade casually leans back, falling into the fountain by accident, quickly jumping out, taking a mental note to be more careful next time, he then uses a blacksmith's heat spell to dry himself off.

Star was startled by the sudden slash of water and quickly turned around. Re-ruffling her feathers, she stared at the dull-orange unicorn. Her green eyes focused on his attire. She wondered what it was for, but had no courage to ask.

"A-A-Are y-y-you o-okay, sir?" she managed to stutter out. She couldn't believe the attire on the stallion.

Switchblade looks up, smiling at the mare with a nod "Yep, only my ego hurt; and that's not really a problem due to its large size. Besides, all I needed to dry off was a heat spell."

Metalspark went to the two ponies standing there "Are you alright?"
He looked at the stallion.. "Oh hello, Switchblade right? Ive heard a lot about ya!"

Willow Wisp tried to steady himself as he flew,the metal winged pegaues had decided he needed to work the flight musles in his back to keeep them strong. But as always he was having trouble with his take off. But even as the muscles in his back burned slightly and he panted he didn't give up.

Soon though he was in the air and getting used to the air currents as they blew up and under his wings "Okay...now just a lap around town to start with...You can do this Willow" He mumbled. He looked more like a pegasi colt learning to fly for the first time then a grown stallion who had been sort of flying for years. "If Dual Edge or dad saw me like this..Id never hear the end of it..." He says with a sigh.

But Willow had forgotten the first rule of flying as he talked to himself, always pay attention to where your flying!

Because the next thing he knew he was falling even as he tried to right himself his wings groaned in protest as him and the pony he had flow into spiraled downwards into a crash landing. The only thing they could do was wrap their wings around themselves to protect their more squishy parts.



Crystal Belle had been in a good mood that day, It was a rare time for her when she got to stay this long in one town and even rarer that it was so late into spring,for the first time in many years she got to see living flowers instead of her crystal carved ones. Green grass instead of white snow. It made her heart sing with happiness.

But that happiness died a bit when a large gust of wind blew and whispers reached her ears. "Yeah Yeah I know already late I get it. We'll leave tomorrow" She grumbled. If you saw her talking like that you'd think their would be a pony flying with her but no she was alone in the sky seemingly talking to herself..or maybe the wind? No only crazy ponies hear the winds talking...right? Suddenly Crystal belle was snapped out of her daze once again by the gust of wind.

"What do you mean can pegasi have metal wings of course not!" She says before suddenly crashing into another pony. She was shocked,so much so her wings locked up causing her to start to fall fast. By the time she got her wings working again she was already too close to the ground. So wrapping her wings around herself she closed her eyes and did the only thing she could, she screamed a warining. "Look out below!"

Who's this Switchblade? she thought. She trotted to the other side of the fountain, a normal smile on her muzzle. "I'm just glad you ain't hurt, sir. I'm not one for that stuff." she giggled, and covered her mouth as she did. "Sorry, my Manehatten drawl is coming out again. I'm Starflower." She tilted her head a bit her eyes and mouth smiling.

She looked at both stallions. They were eerily similar to each other. "What are your names? Where are you guys from?" she asked. Though she didn't know why, she felt like they were her family, in a way. But she didn't even know their names, or anything about them.

Switchblade smiles "When you take a axe to the face, other injuries all seem minor." he listens to her questions "My name is Switchblade, and I live in the smithy down the road."

He then looks up, seeing the pair of falling pegasi, he tries to teleport up to Crystal, hoping to teleport her down, so as to avoid any significant injury.

"My name is Metal Spark, im an engineer, but we dont have time for this now."
Metal created a shield underneath the two falling ponies, if the teleportation fails, the shield would catch them , but he had trouble keeping it stable

Starflower followed the brown Unicorn's gaze. As almost instinct, she flew up to try and help them. She felt as though Switchblade had the mare, so she went for the colt with the metal wings. She wasn't the fastest and started to worry. What if she misses her target? What if she can't carry him? She started to think of what might happen.

Crystal Belle yelped feeling the magic that filled the air from the teleiportaion and the magic sheild. It made her wings poof out and ruffle her coat more then any winter winds could. She tired to fly away from the unicorn as he appeared before her. "N-No Stay away!!" she shrieked her eyes becoming pin pricks and she flinched at his touch as if his hoof was on fire.

Willow Wisp on the other hand felt his body collide with the mare that tired to catch him,her help slowed him enough so he could right himself and land on the magic barrier panting softly. "T-Thank you Miss" He says as he checks his wings for any damage and was glad to see none.

Switchblade looks at the mare, confused at her outburst, he tries to at least use his levitation magic to slow her fall, meaning that he would still be falling full speed, concentrating on keeping his spell going.

Metal walked over to Willow Wisp "Are you alright?" "Wow, that was quite a surprise, I hope you arent hurt."

"Welcome... Sir..." Star panted. She had never been so tired. But, then again, she had never saved a stallion by trying to hold him in the air without at least another colt. She was just glad she could help. "'Scuse my rudeness, but why were you falling like that?"

Willow chuckled nervously as he rubbed the back of his head with a hoof rubbing it with a sheepish look on his face. "I bumped into that mare by accident, it was my fault really I had my head in the clouds..." He says chuckling before another shriek could be heard nearby.

Crystal had been the source of that shriek as she felt the stallions magic surround her. Her panic attack was growing much worse by the second causing her to curl up and start hyperventilating as she was set on the ground her wings still tightly wrapped around her body as if they could protect her from the magic's touch.

Switchblade would have collided with the ground a fair bit before Crystal, once he set the mare on the ground he stopped his spell, staggering over to her to check she was alright. "Miss? Can you hear me? Are you alright?"

"I have to agree" Metal takes a closer look... "Fascinating!.." "I never saw this material being used like that" "Isn't this a little too heavy to fly?"

"What is it?" She asked.

Willow blushed lightly and opened a wing showing the pale purple metal that matched his coat. "A mix of unicorn and pegasi magic forged and blended in titanium wings.." He said digging a hoof into the ground "Nothing that special really.."

Meanwhile Crystal had started to calm down and stood up slowly her wings remained pressed tightly to her and her breath coming out as soft gasps. "I'm fine...Just..Just stay back" She stays placing a hoof on his chest pushing him back some the fear clear in her eyes.

Switchblade nods, stumbling back "Okay, sorry, sorry. I'm so sorry." he says, walking over to Willow and grinning "Of course! Titanium, why didn't I think of that." He inspects the wings carefully, grinning "Wow, these are incredibly well forged; who made them?"

Amazing, she thought. Wonder how it flies.
