A Date in the Woods

Breezedancer breathed heavily as she galloped alongside the beautiful orange mare known as Carpe Diem, she smiled as her mane billowed in the wind and she strained to keep pace with the earth pony.

Although she knew she was probably a much better long-distance runner than the gorgeous pegasus beside her, Carpe was still having trouble keeping up her pace. Through her heavy breathing she looked over at Breezedancer and grinned, having a fantastic time.

"The woods are up there!" she bellowed, nodding to the forest that was quickly coming closer to them.

Breezedancer saw the tall trees coming into view over the crest of the hill, she smiled widely and entered a more sustainable pace. "The forest looks great from over here." She said, smiling as she reached the top of the hill. "Wow.." She gasped slightly as she saw the full expanse of the forest ahead.

She slowed down into a trot, smirking a bit. "You look great too, ya know." The mare nudged her with her shoulder, blushing faintly. Carpe laughed and continued, "Let's walk the last of the way, I'm beat...!"

"Heh... You're quite the charmer.." Breezedancer said between heavy breaths, trotting leisurely beside the mare. "I like that." She added with a soft chuckle.

"I try," she replied with a grin, blushing a bit more. "I guess I just like making other ponies feel good about themselves! And..." Carpe trailed off, glancing up at the trees as they finally entered the forest. "It doesn't help that I have a whoooole lot that I can compliment you on!"

Breezedancer smiled widely, her gaze drifting between the trees and the mare beside her. She couldn't tell which was more beautiful. "This really is nice, how about we find a good spot to sit down and relax, hm?" She asked with a giddy smile.

Carpe leaned into her again, this time lingering a bit longer than last time. She smiled right back, her eyes twinkling with delight. "I'd love that...~" she said softly, before wandering over to a particularly shady tree and laying down. The earth pony patted the ground with her hoof, motioning the other to lay down beside her.

Breezedancer smiled and lay down beside Carpe, draping her right wing over the other mare's back. "This is a great spot." She whispered with a smile as she tucked her legs under herself. "So... What do you wanna do?"

Her face turned a darker red as she felt the wing across her back. Ducking her head a little, she nuzzled into the wing, enjoying the feel of the soft feathers. "We could just talk about stuff," she offered in a half-whisper, closing her eyes contentedly.

Breezedancer smiled as a faint blush formed on her cheeks. "Yeah.. Um.. Well I'm aspiring to be a stunt flyer." She began, scooting closer to Carpe. "But I can pull off more than just stunts." She whispered into the orange mare's ear.

A big smirk grew on her face as she looked over at her after that comment. "Is that so~?" she whispered back, leaning very close to her face. "If you reeaaaally want to, we can do that later~" She pulled away a little, grinning. "So you said you're a stunt flyer? That's awesome. What kind of stunts?"

Breezedancer smirked widely and chuckled. "Well.. I've been trying to break through the sound barrier, but haven't been able to pick up enough speed yet." She said, her face still bright red.

"That's impressive." She nodded her approval, smiling. "So are you from Cloudsdale? I'm from Manehattan myself, but I bet you could probably tell that from my accent!"

"Yeah, I was born in Cloudsdale." Breezedancer said, smiling. "My parents were workers at the weather factory, they've been retired for a few years now." She added as she rested one of her front hooves over Carpe's.

She smiled as her hoof was touched and, in a moment of rapid thought, she returned the gesture by placing a quick kiss on the mare's cheek before continuing the conversation. "That's really cool! I'm not sure what my parents or my sister are doing now, I haven't really kept in touch...I'm sure my sister's doing fine, though, she always was good at adapting...She's my twin, did you know that?" It was kind of hard to tell if she was talking a lot because she always did that or because she was just a little bit nervous.

Breezedancer blushed darkly at the soft kiss on her cheek, she smiled and quickly returned the favor, planting a slightly less soft kiss on Carpe's cheek. "Thought you could get away with that one huh?" She teased with a playful smirk.

"I sure did!" she teased back, smirking. Carpe nestled against the other's side a bit more with a soft laugh. "You caught me, though, I wasn't sneaky enough!"

"You'd have to be more sneaky than that." Breezedancer whispered with a smirk. "I, for one, am not prone to subtlety." she mused as she kissed Carpe right on the lips, closing her eyes and holding the kiss.

She made a muffled noise of surprise, her eyes widening before she very happily relaxed into the kiss, also closing her eyes. The orange mare kissed right back then pulled away a little to whisper, "That's another thing we have in common...~" before kissing her again.

Breezedancer relaxed into the embrace and kiss of the other mare, feeling her heart beat steadily as all thoughts left her mind except for the image of the mare beside her. After some time, she broke away from the kiss and breathed deeply. "You're good at that."

She smirked and nuzzled her head against the other mare's neck, breathing in her scent. "You're not too shabby yourself~" Carpe replied with a wink.

Breezedancer closed her eyes and hugged Carpe closer to her with a wing, blushing and nuzzling the top of her head, resting her head on the other mare's mane. "So.. Since an earth pony can't exactly go on a cloud home, I guess we would have to go to your place for... That." she said with a soft giggle.

The mare looked up at her, a surprised expression on her face. "Uh, sure, I guess, but...you want to do that already?" She forced an awkward laugh, cuddling into the gray mare's wing. "I mean, I'm not against doing that with you, I just think that maybe we should start dating first so we can get to know each other more, ya know?"

"I never said we had to do that right away." Breezedancer said, smiling. "I was just thinking ahead a little bit. But yeah, we should go on a few more dates before going there." She added with a sweet smile and a soft kiss on her cheek.
