the Meeting

Iron was in the Marketplace to buy some materials for his brother
She looked around but all the ponies she saw had a partner. She did a soft sigh and walked ahead

Gideon sat outside of a bakery, a small biscuit-like pastry held in his talons as he munched on it with his small beak. He lifted his head, hearing a sigh with his keen ears as he spotted a tall Pegasus mare trotting by alone. "Excuse me, miss." He spoke up formally. "Are you alright?"

"huh?" she turned to Gideon "Oh... uhm.. Im fine"
"Whats a griffon doing down here in Ponyville?" she asked surprised

"Well, I work for the Trans-national postal service." Gideon explained. "I deliver various messages, usually of the political nature, between Griffonstone and Equestria." He added as he finished his pastry, standing up from the bench.

"An... Engineer? Workshop?" Gideon asked, unfamiliar with such terms. "I'm sorry, Griffonstone isn't exactly modernized yet, so I'm afraid I'm unaware of those terms.. Would you mind explaining?"

Iron smiled and took a seat "An engineer is someone specialised in repairing or building things... and a workshop is their workplace.. If you have a broken Item, you can go to a workshop and get it repaired"

"I see." Gideon said. "Griffonstone does not have many jobs, a majority of the citizens are poverty stricken and unemployed, the introduction of the postal service was a godsend for our nation... Many previously unemployed griffons now deliver mail across the nations."

"I can show you all of Ponyville if you want" she offered
"Oh.. silly me I havent introduced myself.. Im Iron Spark" she said and extended a hoof

Gideon smiled faintly, extending his talon and gently shaking the Pegasus mare's hoof. "That would be nice, my thanks." He said. "Do you happen to be part griffon? I just noticed you have wings." he said, rather clueless.

Iron giggled "No, Im a Pegasus; there are 4 pony races in Equestria, earth ponies; they have no horn or wings. Unicorns; they have a horn and can control magic. And pegasi; they have wings and can fly. Then there are the Alicorns who have both horns and wings.. but they are rare and only princesses use to be Alicorns"

"Very interesting." Gideon remarked, ruffling his wings a little. "You are the first Pegasus I've seen." He added, smiling slightly. "The ponies who arrived in Griffonstone to introduce the postal service were unicorns, very haughty uniforms.."

"Greedy as usual." Gideon answered somewhat bitterly. "I have a feeling that no amount of friendship or generosity will change that."
