Vankuhm's own devices, were conveniently, literal devices. Although he expected not to find anyplace to work on anything, or even have the previous coin to afford any such thing. He put his cowl on extra low, hiding his skin as much as he could. The hooded duergar had little experience with such villages, and has little interest to stay in one. As much as he'd like to talk and see what other people had to offer, in way of information or otherwise, he couldn't afford to raise any suspicion. He was hoping to end up somewhere bigger, where there might be slums where people don't care about his suspicious behavior. He was currently rested and fed, so he had half a mind to head directly off towards a bigger city.
This would all be a lot easier for him if he had some manner of disguising himself, allowing him to socialize to all. An illusion would do the trick, as not many people could see through spells that easily.
Vankuhm figured he could walk along the port until he reached the edge of town, and then walk around the town, distancing himself from the activity. A day's walking wasn't an unusual task for him.
