In a Café On the Champs-Élysées

Blue smiled as her tea was brought to her, quickly taking a sip to get the warm goodness inside of her. "No, I think it wasn't enough. That pony belongs in a sanitarium. If either one of us were beat to hell, the guards would have put him up for a psychological evaluation during some point in his trial when it became obvious he was out of his mind."

She set her tea to the side and pressed both of her hooves together and tilted her head at Rena. "And now my friend, because of you that twisted stallion won't get the help he so desperately needs. And several ponies will be beat to hell because of him for instances he'd instigate himself."

Rena groaned and fell back in her seat. "From one mess to another. Like the city would want to pay for all that rehab. Unless he was a total loon on the front of the newspaper, they would put him in jail for a few months before letting him out. A year or two if we are lucky. There is plenty enough corrupt ponies with their hooves on others pies to let potential money like that go to 'waste'."

She brushed her business suit and sighed. "And this suit is absolutely ruined. This is going to run a few bits to get back into shape."

The older mare shrugged. In truth she just wanted to pound a pony with bad manners into the street. Everything else was concocted on the spot. Of course Rena would be none the wiser. "Oh I'll pay for it since you tried to keep anything happening to me." She took another sip of her tea and glared at the lawyer. "But don't come crying to me of you get any 'accidents' on it from one of your 'clients'."

Rena blinked and frowned at Blue, though a slight blush was under that frown as well. "Oh shush you. You're lucky I saved your flank so long ago when no other would take your case. Drink your tea and behave." She rolled her eyes and sipped, trying to ease her mind up a bit. Being in a wet suit was rather discomforting though.

"And you're lucky I saved you from going out with Silly String the Slasher. I told you that pony was a serial killer." She lowered her hooves back to the ground and took her teacup back in her mouth to sip in smug satisfaction.

The idea of going to jail didn't really bother her, for one she didn't have any behavior she needed to reform and could simply fake the ones they wanted to correct. Also it'd be a good head clearing experience. She could let her mind wander in a garden, and go into the shop to put her brainstormed ideas into practice. She could get some real work done instead of being squashed under a pile of commissions. While they put money in her purse and opened her up to different ideas, every tinkerer needs a bit of time to themselves. Also if her cellmate tried to take advantage of her she'd have her cleaning her hooves by the end of the first day.

Rena nearly choked on some of her tea. "That pony wasn't even being tried for murder! And he was a nice guy. I never knew the case would turn into a wild goose chase that led to a multiple death count.....And I don't go out with every client i meet."

She set her cup down, now almost drained down to the last quarter. "I know he wasn't tried for murder. It's always something small that puts ponies like that behind bars... Oh you don't go out with every client you meet? You tell me about a new one, what every two weeks? How many clients to you get a month?" Before she could answer she flagged down a waitress to order more tea along with some hayfries and a bunch of grapes.

Rena looked back and forth with a blush and brought her tea up to cover her mouth. "....I don't always DATE them...I just get to know them. Enjoy their company. You know. Get my name established and all."

She nodded in agreement. "You certainly do get your name established." Then she smirked. "And other things as well."

Rena sighed and let her head fall to hit the table. "You are making me out as some kind of crazy slut. I can assure you I just like to get to know them and maaaaybe date them." She was glad her face was hidden for that bit as she was having a hard time hiding her blushes with Blue.

She smiled as her food was brought out by a very dexterous earth pony, carrying her plate of food on her head and tea kettle in her mouth. She waited until she had left before continuing the conversation. "Oh Rena... you're so fun to tease. I hardly have to put any thought into it..."

Rena grumbled, realizing she had set herself up for some of this teasing. ".....Bitch." She smirked and took a few grapes off her plate to munch on quickly.

Blue reached out and smacked her hoof away as if she was keeping a foal from a plate of cookies. She wrapped the plate in her hooves and pulled it closer to herself. "I just came back from the slums, how much exercise have you gotten today?"

"Aww...Not even a bite." Rena cutely smiled and laughed. "And I had a nice walk the other day. Usually though i just watch what i eat and get enough exercise with my daily events. You, though, continue to surprise me with your age and strength."

Chai hummed to herself as she came from the back room, Measuring out a couple pots to Brew Tea in. She Took a Gander around the Cafe, and brightened up as she saw her favorite Two Patrons. "Blue! Rena!" she Squeed Happily, Leaving the Pots to brew. She Moseyed on up to the Two, Grinning Broadly. "How're you two Doing today?"

Blue looked up from her food, smiling. "Chai! Oh you got here at the perfect time. I was getting bored teasing Rena about the white stains on her suit."

"Evening Chai! I....Blue!" She blushed furiously at her older friend. "Not in public! Someone might know me and.....Ugh..." She fell back into the booth side completely, laying along its entirety.

"The suits already ruined, and my mane is a mess. Already in trouble as it is."

Chai Chuckled softly at Blue's Remark, then sighed softly at Rena's Reaction. "Rena, Another Patron of mine Does suits, I'm pretty sure I can get you a new suit. But you're on your own for A Manestylist. This Cafe's not too Trendy." She said, gently nudging Rena's hoof.

Blue picked up her bunch of grapes and put it halfway in her mouth and pulled it out with half the grapes gone. "Nopony can do anything with that trainwreck of a mane."

Rena sighed. "Thats alright. I have several suits at home. But my mane isn't that bad.....Is it?" She said, reaching into her breifcase and digging out a small fold up mirror. Upon inspection she went a little pale.

"....Oh damn...I need to get myself home or something. I can't be in public like this. Unless some pony has a brush on them."

Chai smiled and nodded. "You forget I live right above the shop, y'know. I can have a brush down here in no time." she said, trying not to chuckle.
