Chocolate Dream Arrives

He laid down next to her. "I am from Canterlot, actually; I was born there and went to school there; I've been wandering for a good couple years now."

She looked interested as Sound moved down to waddle on the carpet, tasting things with her beak. Dream nodded, "I'm from Fillydelphia.. I've been traveling awhile, looking for someplace quiet to make a start for myself."

"Oh? That is quite a noble goal. I typically do not stay long in big cities like Fillydelphia or Manehattan. Not much interest in fortunetelling there."

She chuckled, the sound melodious and carefree, "I can see that.. I noticed that most ponies there seem.. stuck up? Always worried about what they'll wear to the next party.." She shrugged and looked towards the fire.

"Mmm... to a certain extent. The other part is that they don't... believe as much, if you will. They tend to not take my art seriously." He frowned a bit. "It honestly got rather annoying..."

Dream nodded in understanding, "They don't want to believe if it doesn't fit in with what they see for themselves.. I don't know if what you read for me will happen or not, I'll just have to see. I guess that's part of the fun." Sound had resumed preening herself infront of the cozy fire.

"Well, while not always perfect-to-the-letter, my predictions tend to be quite accurate. I had to flee a town once when a big-name pony there was mad at me; I predicted his wife would leave him for his selfishness. Sure enough..." Scryer shrugged, taking a towel and helping dry the mare off.

Dream smiled as he helped dry her, "Thank you.." She felt rather embarrassed, but tried to ignore it.. or atleast keep it from showing, "I'll bring you some of the first chocolates I make."

"Of course. You've been wonderful company, Miss Dream. I'd very much like to try some of your chocolates." He finished drying her off. "Can I get you something to drink? A hot chocolate, perhaps?"

Dream's ears perked, "Hot Chocolate? I'd love some!" She grinned brightly, nodding. Sound had waddled over to snuggle against her side, tucking her head under her wing to sleep.

He smiled warmly at her and went over, making up two cups of hot chocolate. "This is usually my go-to drink when I crave something sweet... Or when it's cold out." He levitated a cup over to her.

She took the cup and set it down, sipping delicately from it, "Mmm.. not bad." The taste was a bit plain compared to what she fixed herself, but pleasant all the same, "You'll have to come visit me so I can give you some of my hot chocolate."

He levitated a chocolate from the box she gave him and popped it into his mouth, chewing. "If it tastes anywhere near as good as these chocolates are, it will be quite the treat." He laid back down next to her by the fire. "I must thank you; you've been wonderful company."

"Maybe the next time it rains?" she chuckled, sipping her chocolate again, "How long have you been in Ponyville? Maybe we can explore it together."

"I only moved into town recently, Miss Dream. I'd say a day or two; I haven't seen much besides this area. And..." He lifted her hoof, kissing the top again. "I'd be honored." He smiled warmly at her and took another sip of his drink.

Dream flushed, not sure what to make of the stallion's charm, "Umm.. thank you.." She sipped her drink, trying to gather her thoughts back into order.

Scryer began humming a quiet tune to himself as he enjoyed the fire's warmth and his drink. The crackling sound, the warmth, and the light all served to make the atmosphere quite relaxing.
