Returning Home

And there it was: Ponyville.

Funny how good home looks if you haven't seen it in a while. Especially after the few days Thunder Gust had just witnessed. He'd been in Canterlot the past few days, going from club to club and using more energy drinks than sleep to stay alive. A lot of work, but definitely worth it. The clubs in Canterlot could definitely be considered some of the best in Equestria, and though it made good money (and good reputation) to DJ at one, the crowds there were just as feisty about music as the nobility was on some of the lower class members of society, something that Gust didn't want to remind himself of. Lower member of society, yeah right. I probably have better life than they do. Definitely more fun, at least.

Trying to get his mind to stray away from the "higher classes" of Canterlot, he instead thought of Ponyville. Home. He was already almost there, maybe a few minutes left to walk, and he knew just what he would do when he got back. Crank up some Dubstep and then take a nap, then later probably go to a club or bar, and have a bit of fun before taking another nap.

He smiled at the idea. Yup, definitely the life for me.

To pass the time, he took out one of the vinyls he had received in Canterlot, one out of three that were given to him by a fellow DJ, who had appreciated some of Gust's work. He flipped it over with his magic, remembering the time he had spent with him. He was a cool DJ, definitely taught him a thing or two...but what was his name...

Gust noticed a note on the vinyl:
Nice work you did out there, Rainbass. You definitely have a lot of potential in you. We should talk again sometime. See you then! - Grandmaster Kre

Grandmaster Kre...that's it. He smiled again. Grandmaster...funny name, how could he forget it? He shook his head, putting the vinyl back in his saddlebags, and continued to walk towards his hometown.

Punky noticed Vinyl Dash and said hello.
"You're new here too, huh?" she said. "Well, as a fellow musician, allow me to welcome you to Ponyville. I'm part of a punk rock band called Broken Rainbows."

"Hello!"

Gust turned to face the speaker. "Oh, hello!"

"You're new here too, huh? Well, as a fellow musician, allow me to welcome you to Ponyville. I'm part of a punk rock band called Broken Rainbows."

He chuckled a bit and smiled. "Heh. Well, not exactly new, but thanks for the welcome anyways. It's good to be home." He tilted his head a bit, "The Broken Rainbows, huh? Sounds pretty beast." Gust extended his hoof for a hoofshake. "Name's Thunder Gust, known by most as DJ Rainbass. And you are...?"

"The name's Punky." Punky said. "DJ Rainbass, eh. I think I've heard of you. Didn't you win Ponyville Idol last year?"

Gust smiled when he heard of one of his past achievements mentioned.

"Yep, that's me!" Then he tilted his head a bit. "So, Punky, you're new in Ponyville? I definitely haven't seen you around before, that's for sure."

"Yeah, I'm here because I have a lead. I heard there's a drummer here that's really good. My past drummer had a falling out." Punky said.

A purple mare was trotting along, her black shades placed neatly upon her face. A half smile was looming on her face as she trotted to Ponyville. Her home, once more. Her smile grewand she bumped into two other ponies, colts to be exact.She threw back her mane in a slopish way and pursed her pony lips.

"Sorry, I wasn't really paying attention," she said in a sort of gruff voice. Her voice was slightly high pitched, but had that roughness that made you think she had a sore throat, which she didn't.

"I'm Night Watcher, by the way. Sorry to bother you," she shrugged and flattened her ears in slight embarrassment. Well, wasn't this wonderous. Night Watcher's wings twitched and her shades slide off her nose a bit, showing half of her peach orange colored eye. Her eyes were widened, irises large. Her cheeks were a small shade of pink and she backed up, pushing her shades after letting the colts catch a brief look at her eyes. Giving a small laugh, Night Watcher looked else where than just staring at the two.

Sitting, watching from a distance, was a different purple mare..She watched everymove everyone made for she had just gotten to Ponyville for the first time. She had no idea how anyone here acted or talked. She didn't even know if they spoke the same language.

As silly as that sounds she goes and walks up to the nearest mare and says in a hushed voice, "Hello, I'm new here.." She had somewhat of a soft voice when she didn't know the person she was talking to.

Punky turned to see a purple mare. "Well, hi there. Didn't see you standing there. What's your name?" she asked.

((SO MUCH PURPLE! And Yeah Night Watcher, that's fine. Nomnom))

Gust nodded to Punky. "Sucks. Hope you can find someone to replace him soon."

He stepped to the side a bit to keep his balance as something bumped into him, and then turned around to see a Pegasus mare, with a deep purple coat and light blue mane.

"Sorry, I wasn't really paying attention."

Gust smiled a bit. "That's fine, don't worry about it." What's with her voice? Is it just me or does that sound...meh...

"I'm Night Watcher, by the way. Sorry to bother you."

"Good to meet you, Night Watcher, I'm Thunder Gust, A.K.A. DJ Rainbass." He gestured to Punky, "And this here is Punky." Gust raised an eyebrow as she fidgeted for a bit, and then added, "Is it just me or are you a bit jumpy?"

"Well, hi there. Didn't see you standing there. What's your name?"

Gust turned as Punky drew attention to the new mare, and smiled at her, nodding his head in greeting.

Meanwhile, a mango-colored unicorn with an outrageously pink mane named Mango Azalea trotted nearby the small group with a flower basket in her mouth. She turned her head towards them, and examined their faces. She hadn't seen any of them before. That's sort of strange, she thought to herself. So many new people in such a short amount of time? Mango decided to introduce herself, and trotted over.
"Hi! Um, are you guys... new here? I've never seen you before!" She grinned and cocked her head slightly.

"Well, hi there. Didn't see you standing there. What's your name?"

M-my name is Carnelian...rose..Carnelian Rose..

"Well, hi there. Didn't see you standing there. What's your name?"

Carnelian Rose turns around. "O-oh..H-hi there.." She stuttered shyly

"Now, just because I'm famous doesn't mean you should be shy around me. I'm just like everypony else." Punky said.

Gust chuckled a bit. "Don't you think that'd just make her more nervous? 'Course, I completely agree, but you know..."

Gust smiled towards the new mare. "Good to meet you, Rose. I'm Thunder Gust."

"Hi! Um, are you guys... new here? I've never seen you before!"

He looked towards the mare who had just spoken, an orange-ish mare with a pink mane. Wow, lot's of new people, and all mares. Last time this happened it didn't end well at all... "Hello! Well, I'm not new. Coming back from a little business trip actually." He looked around at the other mares. "Don't know 'bout the others, though."

Mango smiled. "Wow, you're lucky. I almost never get out of Ponyville."
She noticed the other ponies, and remembered none of them knew who she was. "I'm Mango Azalea, by the way. I run the flower shop a couple blocks away from here. What are all of your names?" Mango loved meeting new people. The more the merrier, right?

"Your famous?" Night Watchers voice squeaked slightly at the word "Famous". How could this pony be famous? He doesn't look famous. Certainly doesn't look it. Plus, she's never heard of him before.

"Are you part of a band?" she asked, pricking her ears as she looked at Punky, widening her eyes in curiousity. Of course, they couldn't see her eyes because they were neatly hidden behind a black tinted pair of sunglasses. Thuder Gust asked her if she was jumpy, making her a bit angry.

"And I'm not jumpy! I'm just..." Night Watcher couldn't finish her sentence. Maybe it was because she hadn't seen an actual pony for ages. She didn't know what else to say, so she just lowered her head, stomping her hoof carelessly.

"Yep. Ever heard of Broken Rainbows? We went gold with our second CD." Punky said.
OOC: Can you make it like your character has heard of them?

[Pardon for interrupting, but here's a little tip, now that I have the opportunity. The first thing to realize is that all these characters have different lives and interests; their own stories. It would be wrong to force anything onto a character that is not yours.

Another thing to notice is that there are five characters in the setting making it rather difficult to keep track on whose 'turn' it is to post. Yes, we encourage taking turns and being in a certain order so that everypony has a chance of expressing themselves fairly. There does not seem to be an order here, so there is the danger of some chars overshadowing others completely. Threads with two or three chars are usually much easier to manage.

Gust chuckled a bit more as Night got more jumpy from the previous words. "You should take a chill pill. Relax..."

Second CD huh...surprised I haven't heard of them...
