Arpeggio wasn't sure how long he was asleep, but he eventually opened his eyes slowly, acclimating to the bright light in his room. He groaned a bit, barely audibly as he adjusted his bed a bit so the injured pegasus was sitting up. He was alone as far as he could tell.

Life walked briskly down the hallway picking up his next chart. He picked it up and recognized the name, 'Apreggio'. He remembered the night at the bar.

"Hah, I would like to see him again!" He said cheerfully and walked straight to his room to find him sulking. "Aprp?" He said softly.

So, with a little time, gossip had run around the town and Moon Whistle had heard about the incident between Arpeggio and Thunderclap - also other ponies being present. To be quite honest, she did not approve of violent behaviour, but still, Arpeggio was her friend and she had decided to come and visit him.

The blue Unicorn had brought a small basket filled with fruit, apples, oranges, cherries and grapes. The basket was now carried on her back, as she approached the hospital reception desk and asked about the whereabouts of Arpeggio's room.
She thanked for the directions, then moving on to the direction of his room.

Arpeggio recognized Life from the night at the bar, smiling a little. He wrote on his board, 'Hey, Life... sorry for needing to use this thing, but I can't talk... jaw's wired shut so it can mend...' Arpeggio had gotten a full description of his injuries from a nurse, because he'd wanted to know... then after hearing it, he kinda wished he hadn't.

'At least I know why I look like I got trampled by a Hydra now...'

Moon Whistle approached the door, which was cracked open. She knocked on the door, and peeked in.
"Oh, there you are!" she said, beaming, although deep in the inside she was horrified of the injuries Arpeggio had.

She entered the room, noticing another pegasus in the room, maybe Arpeggio's friend or something. Nodding a greeting, she came to the bed's side and placed the basket down.

Arpeggio smiled back at Moon. 'Hi, Moony. How're you doing?' He wrote more on his board. 'Don't mind Life; he's a doctor here. Did you talk with Icarus?' He enjoyed the unicorn's company a lot; he thought she was a good friend.

Moon Whistle nodded, taking a sidewards glance at the doctor, but then stopped worrying. As the pegasus was a doctor, he might need to leave for his rounds soon, anyway, as well - as far as she knew - doctors and nurses had sworn to secresy. He would not spread rumours.

Quietly, she said just, "Yeah..."

[I suppose we can act as if Life would leave and go to his duties.]

(Yeah.) Arpeggio's smile faded a little. He wrote on the board again. '...What happened? Tell me everything and in great detail.' It was clear to him that something about it was bugging her?

Moon Whistle shrugged and nodded.

"It is going to be a long story, so sorry about that..."

She pushed the basket on the side of the bed and took a better pose.

"Picture this; it is a beautiful evening with a sky getting full of stars. We have just spotted the first star of the evening as well as some constellations, and I look at him and decide it's now or never..."

The unicorn proceeded to tell about the whole thing, how she had admitted her adoration towards him, how Iccy had told her he had a minor crush on her, confusion, the whole ordeal.
When Moon Whistle ended her story, she leaned her hooves on the bed and said: "So, we are still friends, get on a couple of dates and then see how things work out."

Her ears flopped a little.

Arpeggio listened to the story. His faded smile turned into a frown; Icarus was going to put Moon in the depressed state that the pegasus had felt... not if there was anything he could do about it. He had to wonder what was going through Icarus' mind...

Eventually, Arpeggio wrote on his board. 'Send him my way, will ya? I want to speak with him... well, as much as I can speak with him, anyway.'

"No, wait..." Moon Whistle said and placed her hoof gently on his, "The situation is okay as it is. I did not think that he would take me on his arms and embrace me, while expressing his undying love for me."
She blushed a little, then continued, "But well, we had been speaking about a game night, maybe invite some friends too... I would've invited you, but you are, umm, bound to bed."

She shook her hoof a little, then taking a chair under her.

"Hey, that's enough for me. Um, what happened to you, I mean... How?" She was at loss of words, considering how much gossip ran trough the town. She wanted the real story.

Arpeggio 'sighed' a bit. 'It's not okay, Moon. If he said what he did to you, he's a fool and I wish to speak to him. Do this for me, please? I'm not exactly in any condition to do much of anything to him.'

He then closed his eyes slightly, then wrote out the story on his board. His going with Shala and enjoying themselves, getting insulted and Spring getting up in his face; his feeling threatened and punching her, then Thunder's tackling him and pummeling him into the state he was in, up until he blacked out from pain and lack of oxygen.

'...So I have a broken nose, a fractured cheekbone, a busted jaw, three cracked ribs, two more broken, and one of them punctured my lung.'

"Well, I'll tell him you want to have a word with him, next time I see Iccy." Moon Whistle agreed, then concentrating on the story that Arpeggio shared with her.

"Aw, that's horrible!" she exclaimed, bringing her hooves to her face.
Then she took a look at the basket with fruit and looked somewhat mortified. "Er... I brought you a get-well-present, but um... With that jaw, you propably can't enjoy these."
The unicorn pushed the basket towards him, blushing furiously, and trying to fix her mistake: "Maybe someone can squeeze these into juice for you. You need the vitamin after all..."

Then she covered her face, murmuring, "I should have brought flowers. Why do I make such a mess of everything?"

Arpeggio moved his forelegs weakly and pulled Moon into a hug. He then wrote 'It's okay... I appreciate the gesture a lot, Moony. A unicorn can use a spell to help them keep; when I get to the point where I don't need the IV anymore, I can enjoy them properly. They add some color to this bland room anyway.' He smiled slightly. 'And thanks for sending my message.'

Moon Whistle was pulled into a hug and she took a deep sigh. "Well, I was thinking of between the fruit and a painting, but I have last painted when I was a wee filly..."

She pulled herself away and took a proper look at her friend. He seemed so weak, pale in the bed, like a shadow of his former self.
"Who brought you here, by the way?" she then asked, turning to place the basket on a bedside table.

He frowned a bit. 'Whiplash, another friend of mine, said that Thunder brought me here. Said he wouldn't stop crying. I don't want to see him or that damned jock 'Special Somepony' of his. I probably won't be able to sing at the Grand Galloping Gala like those in charge wanted me to do thanks to them.'

"I'm so sorry, Arpeggio." Moon Whistle said, leaning her chin to her hooves. She was not surprised that Arpeggio felt betrayed and bitter. It was his special talent, after, singing, and now he managed only a wheeze, if even that.
Moon Whistle looked around and then asked, cautiously - she was propably poking a hornets' nest - "What would you do, if they came in right now?"

'Have them thrown out. I don't want to see either of them right now. Maybe ask Thunder to finish me off first. I'm not sure. Hopefully that won't have to happen.' He turned his head to the side slightly, a few tears dripping down.

'...At least my hooves are somewhat functional... I could maybe play the piano there if I'm recovered... and at least I can still compose... that's my livelihood right now...'

"You'll get better soon." Moon Whistle assured the pegasus, reaching to stroke his mane gently.
"Don't worry about Thunderclap and his broad, they won't enter as long as I am here." she promised, though she would not be a match, if bodies were compared. Moon Whistle then decided to drive them out with plain attitude, if necessary.

Arpeggio closed his eyes a little at the stroking of his mane. 'Thanks, Moon... it really is a pity you only have eyes for Icarus; you're so sweet and caring, any stallion would be lucky to have you...'

He thought to himself, 'This Icarus is such an idiot... he can't see what he has in front of him. I may not have much physical strength but I will make him see. Moon deserves happiness...'

Arpeggio's words really warmed Moon Whistle's mind, as she continued the gentle stroking.
"Maybe I am just ugly, then." she said, half joking, half serious. "My mane is a mess and my hooves are rather masculine. I am not graceful like Miss Makeover is."
She shook her head a little, then changing the subject.

"So, Whiplash visited you, has anypony else come to see you? Did, ummm, Shala come? I understood she was present when all -" she gestured all over Arpeggio's injuries, "- happened?"

'You have an inner beauty; I think you look quite charming, myself.'

'As far as anyone else, I have no idea. Whiplash and another stallion named Jack who was visiting patients in the hospital were the first to visit. She may have come while I was out, but I don't know.

Arpeggio began to feel very tired, the stroking of his mane relaxing his pained body. He closed his eyes further.

"Would you like to be left alone for a while?" Moon Whistle asked, "You must be exhausted, poor thing."

She smiled a little at Arpeggio's words. It was about a first time anyone had said she was charming pony.

He stretched his head over to her and nuzzled her cheek gently. 'I am... so tired... thank you so much...' He closed his eyes and fell into a surprisingly peaceful sleep, despite the pain lingering that the morphine couldn't really dull.

Moon Whistle sighed a little, looking at the broken pegasus. Silently she tucked the covers over Arpeggio better and looked that everything was in order. Considering there was nothing to do, Moon Whistle wondered if it would be okay to leave the room for a little while.

She decided to leave Arpeggio to sleep in peace, and then grabbed a pen to write a note:

Hi, Arpeggio!

Sorry I had to leave you alone, I need to run some errands, like visit the library, etc. I'll be back soon, will tell the nurses and the doc that you are asleep and not to be disturbed (especially by T and his broad).

She then placed the pen back to its place and walked as quiet as possible out of the room.

[Just tug my sleeve, if you want to continue, this just seemed like a good place to end.]
