gemini sighs, walking through the town square." another day, another....hmm. i got nothing to do." gemini says to himself. looking up, he sighs again."i should really save some bits for something besides a house."

stopping by a bench, he goes to sit down and closes his eyes for a second." i wonder what the weathers like in other places." he says to nopony, looking at the sky.

Dustheart, trying to be social and make new friends in Ponyville, overhead and answered the stallion wondering about weather in other places from the bench she was sitting at, back to back with the one the stranger was sitting on.
"What sort of places? I know what's it like in Trottingham and Hoofington." She said, hoping she wasn't being too friendly by talking to random ponies who were talking to nopony but themselves.

"hmm." gemini looked back in surprise at having his question being responded to."oh, i don't know. anywhere but back home, really. thats a place i hope i never have to return to. especially after what happened." gemini says. turning around to look at the unicorn he was now talking to." nice day here though, wouldn't you agree?"

"Well I'm pretty sure everywhere with pegasi the weather in controlled." Dustheart said and turned to the pegasus, then got up and sat on the same bench he was on. "What happened back home? You can't simply tease a story like that and then make small talk. But it is a nice day!" Dustheart said and looks up to the sky. "Also, where is 'back home'?" She asked and looked back down to the pegasus.

"well, they still have to make it rain and cloudy. as for back home, its something i'd rather not go into. i used to live in a town next to a river, so the weather was normally based around that. so, i haven't seen you around before, you new?" gemini asked, hoping to change the subject.

"Next time you don't want to talk about something, you really shouldn't even bring it up! Anyways, yes. I just moved from Hoofington." Dustheart said and thought about what could have happened "back home". "If we end up being friends after this, you tell me what happened back home and I'll tell you a secret no one in Ponyville knows yet." Dustheart offered, hoping she wasn't pushing the issue too much.

"hmm." gemini starts to think about what she said."sure. sounds like a deal. and as for bringing it up, it just sort of slipped out. you know, when your distracted and not thinking about what you're saying? like that." gemini looks at the unicorn somewhat curiously."as for the secret, that sounds interesting. is it a good secret?"he asks, then suddenly does a small, polite bow. "i'm gemini, by the way. it's nice to meet you."

"If I give anymore hints it won't be a secret!" Dustheart said and smiled. "I'm Dustheart, nice to meet you too." She said, looking at Gemini bow quite formally just for meeting somepony. "I think it's a good secret. But it's sort of tragic and sad. Do you wanna know right now? I really want to know what happened in your hometown." Dustheart said, surprised she was so willing to open up to someone she just met.

"well....fine." gemini sighs and looks down." my family was one of those noble types. a small while ago, my older brother cancer was picking on my twin sister, so i got into a fight with him. now, he's the next in line for head of the family, so he got a warning, while i was forced to leave the household. granted, my leaving was more mutual, as the only pony i really cared about was my twin sister. i never really connected with the rest of the family, as they were always busy. so, now you know why i don't exactly like bringing up my past..."gemini starts to sigh again."how about that secret?" he suddenly looks cheerful again.

"Hmm, well you know how my name is Dustheart and my cutie mark" Dustheart turned so he could see her cutie mark "is a grey heart with a cobweb? Well the reason behind that is that I'm unable to be in love, romantically. When I was a filly there was a colt in my class that every girl was in love with except me. He was using a temporary spell that made every filly fall in love with him, and upon finding out that he had used that spell, I got my cutie mark." Dustheart told the story of how she got her cutie mark and looked at her hooves. "My parents were disappointed because they thought they could never have grandchildren, so we don't really talk now." Dustheart frowned a little, but then looked back up to Gemini and smiled. "You're the first pony in Ponyville to hear that story. Also the first pony in Ponyville I've met!" She said and looked around the town square.

"i see. somewhat. i don't see how a pony could ignore their son or daughter just because they can't love romantically. that seems like a tad bit sad to me. and im sorry to hear you don't talk to your parents. i don't talk to mine, for obvious reasons, but i was never close to them in the first place. so, after that story, i guess you don't mind if i consider you a friend now?"

"Nope not at all!" Dustheart said and smiled. "Now that we're sort of on the topic of cutie marks, I'd like to know how you got yours!" Dustheart said and looked down at Gemini's flank. "I'm assuming your name and your cutie mark are somehow connected?" Dustheart said and looked back up to Gemini's face.

"my mark? well, i got it when i left my family. i might have gotten it before, but im not to sure. what with leaving my family, i wasn't looking at my flank alot to check. as for the mark itself, its two identical twin stars, and i was named gemini after the constellation i was born under, which symbolizes the twins. my twin sister zwillinge has the same two stars surrounded by a ring of other stars. she got her mark before the fight, so i was there when she got it. other than that, theres not alot special about my mark." gemini says, thinking back to when he realized he got it.

"Oh, so there was no real event that triggered it? Strange. But I've seen stranger things, being a cutie mark specialist. I never heard what your occupation was?" Dustheart said, thinking back to when the cutie mark crusaders had visited her. "And hobbies! I never heard what you like to do. Personally I like to create candles, carve soap, and make perfume. All sorts of scented stuff like that. And I like to sew." Dustheart said, taking out the bar of soap and carving knife she brought with her everywhere.

"yeah. as for my job, i work for violet at her veterinary office." gemini says, then starts to think for a second."hobbies. not much besides reading, really." he starts to look at the soap and carving knife curiously." huh. thats interesting. and mind if i ask what a 'cutie mark specialist' is?"

"Well I deal with things things the cutie pox, and I help foals get their cutie marks. I pretty much deal with everything cutie mark related." Dustheart said, trying to think of other things she does. "Once I helped teach a class about cutie marks with Cheerilee." Dustheart said and got up from the bench and stretched.

"thats cool. so...you basically help ponies with cutie mark problems?" gemini though for a moment." i guess we technically are of the same type of job then. i help ponies pets, and you help them with their marks." gemini laughs. " so, if im the first pony you met here, then you can't have been here long. i hope. how long have you been in town?"

"Only a few days, most of which were spent setting up my office and home and everything. This is the first time being out and about, so I haven't seen any buildings or businesses. Mind if you give me tour?" Dustheart said, getting bored of being in one place so long. Dustheart looked around, trying to figure out which way they should walk to encounter the most buildings.

"sure. but where do you want to go first?" gemini asks, curious as to what buildings the unicorn would like to see." theres the bowling alley, the library, and the market place. they tend to be good places to start." he said, getting up and stretching.

"We could start with the library, I already seen most of the market since I work there." Dustheart said, following Gemini towards the library. "And then next we could go to the bowling alley, and then maybe we could get something to eat." Dustheart said, happy to be moving again. "I haven't seen any of the cafes, restaurants or any other food places." Dustheart looked up at a sign above one of the buildings. "I think that's the library! But you're the one giving the tour."
