Shadow Scissors

A scream was heard as loud thump of heavy set orange pony slammed across the ground. A colt nervous about doing a hoof-stand was reassured by his friend he would spot him, only to be knocked over as the colt yelps for him to help. Sweating as he barely held his weight up to avoid falling in the fountain. On the wall was a silhouette of shadow of large pony, that made gesture of 'na-na-nana-naa' as Stormy slammed into the wall and rubbed his nose. "AHahahahaa! You won't escape this time!" The shadow ran, taunting him as it ran backward, looking bored as he lead Stormy to fall into the Fountain. The shadow fell over making silent laugh as Stormy arose from the water, turning himself on to his belly to pounce upon the thing.

gemini, walking through the town square, saw the earth pony fall into the fountain. suddenly curious, he decided to make sure the stallion was all right." uh..you....you okay in there?" he asked as the pony was turning himself over to pounce."uh..and....what are you doing, to?" gemini asks, getting a confused look on his face.

Stormy turned, his eyes had twinkle to them as he flicked his face to remove the bit extra water on his face. "I'm chasing shadow! AHAhahahahahaa. What else could I be doing?" He said as he lifts himself, bracing against the colt. "The only question we should ask is will you follow and see where it leads." Stormy made a jolly laugh as he makes a mad dash after the shifting figure as it hopped from place to place.

It would turn to mock Stormy in his failed tries to grab it.

"o-okay?" gemini watched the figure and the pony run off, and his curiosity getting the better of him, started to follow. "so...your chasing a shadow?" gemini asked, catching up to the pony by flying." how do you catch a shadow anyway?" he asked, looking at the figure in question. (man im doing terrible. i guess my RPs drop in quality after midnight.)

"AHAHahahahaha!" he laughed as the colt asked correct questions that should be asked when one was confused. Perhaps Stormy should make a little guide for such things. "To be more exact." He said as he puts hoof to his own mouth as he sneaks up on the black form, before suddenly leaping forward. "My own!" He yelled as he almost crushed a pony's garden and the shadow raced off.

Stormy huffed and puffed a few things as he galloped after it. "Also feel free at any time to help me flank this thing. I'm getting much younger you know." He said with a quick grin as he focused on keeping pace with the thing.

gemini shrugs and goes to try to flank the shadow." how...how are we chasing your shadow? this should be physically impossible." he says, suddenly contemplating the possibilities that could have happened. flying ahead of the shadow,he wondered if it was possible to even stop the shadow." what do you plan to do when you catch it anyway?" he called to the other pony.

"AHahahahahahahaa! My good sir." Stormy hopped over a over turned barrel as he looked up at the colt, somehow maintaining a grin as he galloped. "The world is full of impossible things! All you have to do is see them and then they become possible! Today is the today you get to see things be rewritten! It's so boring when nothing changes!" He yelled as the shadow slipped pass a small crowd of ponies admiring this lovely set of pearls.

Stormy gawked at it a bit himself as he pretend to tip a hat to the mares as he rushed by."Huff...it's...huff...times like this....huff! I wish I had a hat!" He laugh's a bit as the rushes down the shadow as it focus on Stormy, completely unaware of the the fine colt in the air.

gemini just nodded when stormy told him that all he had to do was see them, thinking about one of his new friends when he said that. " i can honestly say, i've already seen a couple impossibilities. and as for changes...." gemini looks down, apologizing to the mares admiring the pearls." i plan on travelling around equestria, so changes will come my way if i want them or not."

gemini flies a bit ahead of the shadow, hoping it could be stopped by another pony." here goes nothing!" he shouts, attempting to drop on the shadow as its focusing on stormy.

The shadow turned to do a taunt to Stormy as you descended upon him. It turned with a look of shock at being about to be beat as you pinned it. It slide from under you as Stormy stomped his hoof down on it with a grin. "Where do you think your going? AHahahahaa." He locked the shadow in choke hold as he stuck it to the side of his face and laid down on it, rubbing himself on the ground as a few ponies stared at the strange colt who was happy as can be as he stood up, where a shadow now cast behind him diagonally.

He wore a grin as he wiped a bit of the dirt off his face. "Travel across Equestria?" He said with grin as he cracked his neck. His eyes had twinkle to them as he adjusted his smile. "Where have I heard that before I wonder?" He said as he extended his hoof with his grin renewed and approved. "I must thank you for helping grab this shadow of mine. My name is Stormy Hugeheart. It's absolute and complete pleasure to meet you."

gemini shook the stallions hoof, looking at his shadow suspiciously." good to meet you too, stormy. i'm gemini. uh....mind if i ask how...." gemini tried to think of how to say what he wanted to know." your shadow got away from you?" when he asked the question, gemini starts to rub the back of his head.

Stormy seem pleased you as he removed a clothe handkerchief that was velvet black with gold lacing. He held it outright in his hoof as he drew back the folding to reveal a sickly long pair of scissors with steel as black as obsidian. The handle was made of mixture of brown, grey and sage green wood, like someone had made swamp water to stone. "This." He said with that twinkle in his eye. "This is the Shadow Scissors. They are the only thing to be said to cut shadows. This silly little thing is the reason behind all the legends about shadows moving themselves.. I.." He chuckled bit, itching the back of his head a bit.

"May have tried them hoping I'd have a black coated friend, sadly it seems the shadows to things upon their own whims." He folded it, tucking it away again as he grew grin on his face. "I'm a traveling storyteller, and sometimes I stumble upon the origin of the story so to speak. Though to be honest. I can't say I don't do a little bit of purposeful stumbling." He put his two front hooves up to make a little space before setting his hooves down again. "Only a tiny, little bit is all."

"hmm. scissors that cuts shadows. i suppose that could work...." gemini stops rubbing the back of his head." so, you cut off your shadow, then. okay." gemini finishes digesting the knowledge. "well, at least its not.....uh, never mind. i don't want to bring that experience up again." gemini starts to shiver at a recent memory." so, you travel around then? thats cool. i need to settle in here first before i actually start myself, but i'll get to it eventually. so, you do this often then?"

"Aahahahahaha. The longer you stay somewhere." He grinned with ehyes that seem to hid a thought or emotion that should be there. "The harder it is to go."

He sat, opening a can of Dr.Pony and drinking from it lightly as he gazed upon the blue winged colt with a invested interest. "Also to answer your other question I'd be inclined to say yes. I travel all over and see wonderful things and here and there I have few interesting experiences like today."

The sun was at it highest as he felt the sun heat his back, as he felt the it poke that parts of his coat not covering his skin as well as the rest. Good thing he had such lovely refreshing drink.

"that is true, but i can't travel without supplies or a place to base my travels on. plus, it helps to make friends too." gemini says, looking up at the sky." so, i take it you must be very popular among other ponies." he looked back at the other pony, starting to stretch his wings out a bit and yawning.

"AHAHHaahahahahahahaa. Popular?" He grinned with a few more chuckles. "I can I am very good at getting along with others, but I don't have fillies lining up or colts mimicking my practices." Stormy found this one to be quite honest, likely any thought he had would come to his mouth. What delightful quality, though some considering it bad, which Stormy never saw why besides it might make you lose girlfriend or get a more hoof fights then you would want too.

"Though as for your travelling I suggest having some sort of plan as where to go or what your looking for. Even if the search in a inner one." He explained as he removed a map from his saddlebag. "A gift to fellow traveler. Here." Shook the map in front of him.

"hmm....well, i did lose my last map because of space problems with my bag..might as well." gemini takes the map gratefully."thank you. and i do have an...out line of a plan. i plan to visit other towns first, then maybe places that are less.... hospitable towards ponies." he starts to think about which towns he should visit first." so, any suggestions on where i should start?"

Stormy set hoof to his chin as he thought of the colt's quest. "I do wonder before I tell you such a thing what you hope to find in this place where ponies are more likely a snack. I only stumble across such places unless I require something there." He sat down as he withdrew his own map and looked thorough. "There is Sphinx's Maze. You have to find your way out and I heard there all sorts of tricks and traps. Then you must solve a riddle or the Sphinx will gobble you up." Stormy got a twinkle in his eye. "But I heard she has a reward for those who pass. Though I have been tricked in the past."

"hmm. sounds interesting. i might try that sometime. and besides, my main purpose is to explore and see new places and civilizations. though something like that sounds dangerous, it also sounds...exciting. what good is going to new places if they're all boring? plus, i can honestly say i've been in danger before. though...im not sure if getting hurt would've done anything considering..." gemini starts to think to himself for a minute, then realizes he's still talking to stormy." sorry. anyway, any tips in case i get into such situations?"

"AHahahahahahaa." Stormy laughed bit as his eyes gave that little twinkle. "My my. It seems you are looking for trouble. Which I suppose I am certainly not the one who should tell you not too." He grinned as trademark grin as cracked a soda open, sipping it a bit as he stared at the colt.

So fully of a want to explore and see the world. He remembered when he himself wished for such a thing and went on his journey. In fact he was still on it. "Though I have learned to tell what is boring or not. But sense you seek danger.." He set his hoof to his chin. "I suppose climbing mountain is no trouble with one with wings, nor would be travelling a dark forest. Why you could just fly away! You would need someone to really get your blood flowing... like."

He grinned. "Thunder Storm Castle."

"thunder storm castle? whats that?" gemini sits down where he is, starting to dig for something in his bag." hmm...i think i have something in here i could drink...." he pulls out a water bottle and starts to drink from it, just to realize its empty with a sigh." sounds kinda like a haunted castle or something. and besides...i may have gotten lost in the everfree once. my wings were to tired and sore to fly, so i followed a unicorn back to town. anyway, what is this 'thunder storm castle'?"

"Ahahahahahahaa." Stormy hadn't ever considered someone's wings being to tried to fly, perhaps forest could be a problem. Stormy breathed in a bit as his voice produced a much different tone, one that had a almost enchanted feeling to it as started the story. "Before ponies met in Harmony they were three tribes. Unicorns, Masters of Magic. Earth Ponies, Keepers of Land and Ideals. Pegasus, Wielders of flight and Might. One pegasus however stood above his brothers and sisters."

You could feel the world seem to be almost distant as his words gripped the air as it was pictured before you. "He was a master of bending the very elements of the Sky to his will. Thunder and lighting sprang from him merely landing upon a cloud. He was asked to construct a castle, one that no race could ever take."

Stormy grinned as he he saw the the picture that had been in the story in his head. "Towers of Nimbus and walls of Noctilucent. Fueled by his hoof he was able to create castle of ThunderStorms. Where lighting struck at it's foes and only one with the route could fight against the harsh winds. With this castle no other race was able to truly beat the Pegasus. Many tried and failed." He chuckled bit at something funny he thought as he went on.

"Sadly one day the castle broken into and.. changed." He did a sweep of his hoof. "It changed the wind and defenses, which made it no longer possible for warriors to enter. Sense then it has sat high in the air in the country of our fore-fathers. It's secret guarded . Too this day no pony has ever set hoof in it."

"hmm...interesting indeed. sounds like i might need the help of some other pegasi to get in. but to change the defences so no pony can get in? there must be a way to get in. do you know the general area, or better the specific area if you can, this castle is in?" gemini sits back a bit, his head already thinking of possibilities." hmm...might need help from a unicorn or earth ponies though, for planning and issues with setting up camp. plus, they'd have to leave sometime, so im sure they'd have a way in. maybe a type of back door entrance, or specific wind patterns..." he starts to trail off a bit." so, Sphinx's Maze and Thunder Storm Castle. both very interesting places..."

"I suppose they would be quite fun." He grinned as he rolled up his map and tucked it away as he downed both of his drinks with a grin. "Ahhhh." He breathed out as adjusted few straps on his saddlebag. "Nothing like a Dr,Pony and a adventure, not much else." He nodded to himself as turned his twinkling eyes to the colt. "It's seem you are on a bit of a single mission kinda mode, but if you like your welcome to come with me and my friend Scyrer if you like."

He wore grin as debated if he could get a better deal on soda if he bought it in mass or just got deals from vendors along his trip. Perhaps hiring a accountant was a idea. "Sense you seem to need a earth pony and I require a Pegasi."

"hmm..." gemini starts to think for a moment." depends...how long are you going to be in town for?"he starts to think about the pros and cons of travelling with stormy for a bit, his thoughts going back to all his friends he made and how he was going to tell them he was going travelling for a bit."also...you tend to go through pop a lot. also, i don't know how much use i can be, considering im inexperienced. all i was taught to do as a kid was...w-well, i'd actually rather not go into that." he starts to think of ways to change the subject in case stormy tries to bring up his childhood.

Stormy grinned as he discovered the extend of this colt. It seem the past haunts him. "How long shall I be in town? Well I have a appointment with a very 'Intelligent' colt. AHAHAHahhahhaha." Stormy enjoyed the colt's name so much. It made it really too easy. "Then I have few things I smiplely must look into, like getting myself more pop, I mean soda.. hey."

He grinned as he pointed at the colt. "You said pop. Most say soda around here. Where did you come from? Perhaps the South East of Equestria?"
