New Friends in Strange Places

Walking down the Street, Dylgo adjusted her saddle bag as she thinks about what she should get next. Her bandages making her stand out of the crowd, she looks at the various shops. food wasn't a problem, she didn't need any quills or a dress. her shopping had apparently reached the point of looking for the sake of looking.

Extending her good wing, she takes a quick look at her bandages. the number of ponies staring at her had dwindled, but she still felt like she stuck out too much. A flightless Pegasus does tend to be looked down upon by the prouder Pegasi. luckily for her, these Pegasi tend not to hang around Ponyville.looking back over the small crowd, she goes back to thinking about what to get next.

Bright Sides sat down at a bench, she was lost she had been lost for what seemed like hours now.
"Mama where are you..." She and her Mama had come to the marketplace that day to buy somethings for dinner that night,when Sunny had stoped to look at a toy store display and when she had finally turned around a while later her Mama was gone. She has stood infront of the display for hours like her Mama had told her to do if she ever go lost, but now she was sitting in an allyway a bit of the ways away trying to stay out of the hot sun." Mama...where are you..i wanna go home!!" She says as she starts sobbing.

Walking by an alleyway, Dylgo couldn't help but hear what sounded like crying. Looking around, she notices a filly crying in an alleyway. looking over with her head lowered, she slowly make her way toward the filly. "Are you ok little one? why are you crying?" She asks in genuine concern. Dylgo had no idea what could be wrong here. by the sound of the crying, she was probably lost.

Sunny had only been crying for a few minutes when she had hear a voice.

"Are you ok little one? why are you crying?"
She looked up at the pony for a second before she started sobbing again and saying something along the lines of "I'm not Supposed to talk to strangers".

Dylgo gave a warm smile as the filly uttered something about not talking to strangers. "That's smart. your parents taught you well. how about we start with our names?" Dylgo said warmly. "Mine is Dylgo. Dylgo Wallen. what's yours?" Dylgo asked as she lied down near the entrance of the alley, taking great care to not lay on her broken wing.

Sunny sniffled and looked up at Dylgo while rubbing her eyes "M-my name is Bright Sides...but everypony calls me Sunny...” Normally Sunny would be happy to meet a new pony but she was hungry, tired and really missed her Mama.

"M-my name is Bright Sides...but everypony calls me Sunny...”

Dylgo nodded as Sunny introduced herself. "Good name." she said warmly. "So Sunny, Why are you crying?" Dylgo asked with a concerned look on her face. deciding to get comfortable, Dylgo takes her saddle bags off and places them on the ground beside her, fully revealing her bandages.

"So Sunny, Why are you crying?"

Sunny looks down at her hooves and whimpers softly "Im...Im lost...I cant find my Mama and i wanna go home!" She says as fresh tears start to stream down her face. "W-We where s-shoping and I stoped to look at the toy store display and when i turned around she was gone!!"

Dylgo could relate. she had gotten lost in Manehattan several times in the past. "ok, it's alright." Dylgo said in her kindest voice possible. "What does you mom look like?" She asked standing back up. "I can help you find her."

"What does you mom look like?" Sunny thought hard about that "Well she...she has a bright red mane...with a pretty white coat and shes a peg...peg...a flying pony like you!" She points a hoof up at Dylgo. "and she has a cutie mark!"

Dylgo thought for a second while she put the vague details together in her head. "ok. you said you lost her near the toy store?" Dylgo asked as she slowly approached the filly. "We can start there and retrace your steps."

Sunny smiled and gets up bouncing over to Dylgo "ok!...but um...one question...What does Retrace mean?" She asks as she tilts her head.

Dylgo giggled a little. she was cute. "Retrace means to go back over where you went." She said smiling. "so let's start the toy shop and go to places you and your mom were before that." She said smiling. Dylgo could sympathize with the poor filly. getting lost is a pretty terrifying experience.

"Ok! lets go!" She says as she bounces out of the alleyway towards the Toy store smiling happily. She stood infront of the window display waiting for Dylo.

Dylgo couldn't help but giggle at how fast the filly had made a 180 degree emotional change. following Sunny, she grabs her saddle bags in her mouth on her way by. arriving at the toy store, Dylgo puts on her saddle bags properly. looking at the filly, she smiles. "You see your mom anywhere?" Dylgo asked.

Sunny looked all around trying to spot her mother in the large crowd "I dont see her!"

Dylgo looked around. she was right. there was no sight of a pony matching her description anywhere. "Well, where else have you been with her?" Dylgo asked. looking inside the shop, a thought hit her. "on second thought, why don't we take a look inside?"

"I guess we can look there..." Sunny said as she slowly made her way to the toy store door after waching a foul and her parents go inside. Sunny no longer bounces but now was troting but her bow seemed to droop a bit.

Looking over at Sweet, Dylgo frowns. something must be wrong. looking into her bag, she takes out a few bits. maybe this'll make her feel better. "Hey, why don't you look for something you like." she says, holding the bits with her good wing. "I'll keep looking for your mom. sound good?"

"But...thoses are yours and...i..." Sunny said staring at her shocked.

Dylgo smiled at this. "Nonsense! I am here to please!" Dylgo said still smiling. Still holding out the bits with her good wing, she looks around the shop for a mare that might even vaguely resemble the filly's mother.

Sunny looked at Dylgo then at the bits and then back at her. "Well ok..." Sunny takes the bits from her, one second a filly is standing infront of Dylgo the next second the only thing there is a filly shaped cloud of dust and the distant squee of happiness.

Dylgo laughed as the filly ran off. She loved cheering up other ponies. especially the foals. walking around the shop, she looked for Sunny's mom. her being in here was unlikely, but it was worth a shot. then, she may have spotted her. red mane and white coat, was she a pegasus? getting a little closer revealed that she was not. drat.

Sunny walked throughout the store looking for a toy she wanted, looking at the selves full of toys her eyes stop on a silver pony plushie wearing a hard hat "Daddy..." She picks it up and bounces her way back to Dylgo.

Standing near the front of the store, Dylgo thought about where the mom could be. she hoped that she would still be out looking for her daughter, but if it's been long enough, she could have gone home to find help with finding her. That's when she saw the filly walking up to her. "Hello There. I see you found something." she said smiling.
