The First Day (OPEN TO ALL)

OzyManedias did not like that look of paternal kindness that seemed to perch itself on Gabrail Heart-Shield's face.

He must have thought he was some teenage colt. although he was shorter than the guard, OzyManedias was fairly sure he was older than him (give or take a couple hundred years). The funny thing with reincarnation is he never figured out whether he should count the years when he was actually alive or that and all the years in between.

But it was an honest mistake, so OzyManedias decided not to hold it against him.

"I am still called Ozy." the corners of his mouth moved up a little, the closest to a genuine smile he has come to in a long time. "You must be either stupid or brave to garner the hatred of your Lord... er... Commanding Officer." He winced at his faux pas, who had Lords anymore? Feudalism went out of style since the first Hearth's Warming Eve!

Vassago slowly shook himself from his state of shock. He politely waited for Nameless to explain to OzyManedias what the guard was doing, before power-trotting a bit ahead of Nameless in order to face her.

So that she didn't break her stride, he turned around and backpedaled in order to maintain eye contact.

"Never? as in Never Ever? As in no signs no menus no street names and especially no books?"

He groaned, and decided to answer her former question. "Its nothing, erase it from her memory." He probably could if he wanted to, but what potential friend meddles with the mental faculties of his BFFFUD?(Best Filly Friend Forever Until Death)

"You may call me Vassago, and I am going to be your friend." His clever little smile returned to his face. "And you are Something Nameless. You are very interesting, you cannot read, you are friends with a killer, and you like vanilla ice cream. I like you; you are quite the character."

His Masters would be most pleased, regardless of whether their relationship was good or bad. Although Vassago hoped it was the former.

"I can recognise numbers," Nameless said, "But aside from that, never ever. Words clutter my mind. Shapes are easier."

Her calm expression gave way to a frown of worry as again, the colt named Vassago again rattled a list of her traits that he really shouldn't know.

"Do what you wish," Nameless said, "But you are mistaken, I am not interesting. I have no character to speak of. I merely exist. There is little to care about, much less like." She pauses, then continued. "Ponies that like me get hurt. Or are ready to do horrible things for a friendship."

She hoped beyond hope that Vassago was not as well versed with the other ponies of her household, though this seemed unlikely. If he knew so much about insignificant Nameless, he would surely know about the more infamous members of the household.

"And you know my 'friends' are capable of doing horrible things."

Gabrial couldn’t help but smile, and nods to Ozy’s comment, “I guess you could say I’m both, but if my C.O. is part of this… corruption, you’re sure as Celestia rises the day I’m going to bring him down.” Gabrial’s heart burned with his pride now, and as he looked to the other colt, and the Filly as she says, “I am not interesting. I have no character to speak of. I merely exist.” He couldn’t help but speak, with his formal tone, “Miss, you do more than exist, and you do possess character… with all respect given, if you did nothing more than exist then you’d be nothing more than a puppet… and as far as this Stallions concerned you do have character and honor, if you didn’t, you would have left me to whatever fate those thugs had planned.” He smiles as he looks to the others, to him they all had the makings of great light within them all.

If OzyManedias could read Gabrial's mind, he would laugh.

Once upon a time, there was a foal who wanted for everypony to smile, and nothing to hurt.

He lingered in the back of the group, not particularly interested in the current topic of conversation. He glanced around nervously, with no foreseeable escape from the Slums, they just seem to go on forever. in all directions.

Nothing but squalor and misery.

Nopony was smiling, and everything hurt.

He didn't notice it, but his hoof had slid around his bag. He subconsciously stroked it, one of the very few reminders of what he had been, and how far he has fallen.

"But you are mistaken, I am not interesting. I have no character to speak of. I merely exist. There is little to care about, much less like."


The guard spoke up.

“Miss, you do more than exist, and you do possess character… with all respect given, if you did nothing more than exist then you’d be nothing more than a puppet… and as far as this Stallions concerned you do have character and honor, if you didn’t, you would have left me to whatever fate those thugs had planned.”

Vassago decided to forgive her lack of reading abilities, for now. He didn't comment on her apparent lack of character. He knew a good character when he saw one and she was perfect! She didn't have to think she was a good character to make her a good character.

"Ponies that like me get hurt. Or are ready to do horrible things for a friendship."

"And you know my 'friends' are capable of doing horrible things."

"Well then." Vassago giggled as he turned around and trotted side-by-side with Nameless. "It is a fortunate thing I am a part of the latter."

As the group finally left the squalor of the slums, Nameless gave Vassago a look. It was a look that suggested that the colt did not fully understand what she meant by 'horrible things'. He must think it involved tormenting others. But what Nameless was trying to get at was different. It was subtly different, but it was an important difference.

"I would have let those thugs take your rusted, two bit rookie armour and let them 'sell' it back to the city guard if it weren't for the intervention of him," she gestured to Oz, "My masters would not have liked it if an all out riot broke out, so it was my duty to make sure that both sides stood down before it got to that. I knew a pony that had character, and honour. Another guard. His mistakes were twofold; devoting his duty to 'justice', and getting close to me. He paid dearly."

Her eyes narrowed at her fellows. "So, I hope that you are ready to have your world collapse around you if you do pursue the path you are taking."

Gabrial finally sees the end of the slums but Nameless’ words echoed in his head, "My masters would not have liked it if an all-out riot broke out, so it was my duty to make sure that both sides stood down before it got to that. I knew a pony that had character, and honor. Another guard. His mistakes were twofold; devoting his duty to 'justice', and getting close to me. He paid dearly." Gabrial Spoke with a calm tone to this young Filly, and kneels” Miss. As a Guard of this fine city I thank you for your help, and aid, even if you did it for different reasons I still see good within you.” He then speaks as he removes his helmet and looks to the others and Nameless “Un-officially... Thank you all, I would like you all to know, you have a friend, a true guard, and to me, you all possess a noble spirit…” He smiles and nods to the Ozy and Vassago, and then looks to Nameless, “Miss I shall be honest this day has only reinforced my resolve to protect the citizens of this city, and all of Equstria, I will bring this corruption down, and as for your friends... I’m not afraid of them, if you need a friend, I will be around the city.” Gabrial places his helm on, and smiles his eyes refreshed and ready.

"So, I hope that you are ready to have your world collapse around you if you do pursue the path you are taking."

OzyManedias almost snickered at that remark by the little maid. "Been there, done that." He muttered. He had already messed up trying to fix this crap-sack world, he hardly wanted another go at it.

But still, it would be a shame if Gabrial died. Surely he would. One young soldier versus not only the crime syndicate of Manehattan but his own corrupt army? The odds were far from even... Gabrial gestured to him, bringing his attention.

“Un-officially... Thank you all, I would like you all to know, you have a friend, a true guard, and to me, you all possess a noble spirit…”

OzyManedias did not respond, but only nodded respectfully at the guard.

Oh to be young again.

Oh wait, he was young again.

OzyManedias was having a hard time with idioms.

As Vassago didn't do anything but just stand there while OzyManedias did all the... talking, he assumed the compliment was just directed at him.

He stared at Nameless curiously, something (NAMELESS ehehuehuehuehue...) about the way that she had been looking at him made him intrigued.

When it came to Vassago, being intrigued could mean several things, ranging from very good to a situation involving an abandoned hospital and a lot of rusty surgical appliances.

Luckily for everyone involved, the situation with the abandoned hospital and a lot of rusty surgical appliances was not considered.

He absently started to float around Nameless like a balloon, lazily drifting in the air.
"there ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough, ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you, baby~"
He sang absently. "I think I'll follow you a while." He grinned at Nameless.

"Something-something!" a cheerful voice cried. It belonged to another maid mare, who swept up to the group. "You are approximately 23mins and 47 seconds late, give or take about 1 min and 16 secs. We were getting worried, you little scamp, you!"

"White," Nameless said emotionlessly, as the newcomer ignored the other ponies to hold the filly in a bear hug, "You needn't worry. I am fine."

Releasing Nameless from the hug, White Woods curtsied towards the other ponies, "Afternoon, sirs. I hope young Something-something has not been too much trouble. I'll just take her off your hooves."

"White," Nameless interjected, "Mr Vassago has declared his intent to follow me for the present in a tone deaf manner." She gestured toward the floating colt.

"Oh?" White grinned the sort of grin that suggested somepony was going to be in deep guano, and that she was going to enjoy every second of it, "Well, well, well. Loyal is going to blow a fuse when she finds out that colts are taking an interest in her precious, precious Nameless."

Gabrial sees a new filly enter the scene and hears how exact he had cost Nameless’ time, Gabrial then stands at attention, his helm back upon his head, and speaks with a formal guards tone, “Miss, That was my fault, Miss. Nameless, should her employers be cross with her, let them know it was my fault for her tardiness, My name is Guardsmen Gabrial Heart-Shield.” He salutes unsure of this Miss. White, unsure what the thugs said was true or not, but he chose to only assume what they said was to harm the ladies reputation. Gabrial’s red eyes never blink as he tries to make as much eye contact as possible, but part of him was curious, who was Loyal?, where there more of these strange ponies like Nameless and white, ones who Gabrial felt had more than they were letting on.

Vassago twirled around lazily to face White Wood. He glanced at her up and down.

"Another member of the Household I presume. Does your master have a thing for maid costumes? Or is that just the staple of your group." He chuckled. "That was a joke." Once again, he saw that look. Like they expected something BAD to happen to him! As if there was a pony in existence that could lay a hoof on him! Besides, OzyManedias would protect him.

Vassago glanced at the pony who very quickly would become his friend. OzyManedias stood easily, watching Gabrial curiously. Ozy couldn't help but envy him. How easily he put others before himself. It was quite admirable. OzyManedias made a mental note that Gabrial was to get at least one free drink, should he ever come into his store.

Vassago glanced back at the two maids. "Miss... Woods, was it? I believe I heard you mention a 'Loyal?' Was this the same pony who killed a great many thugs and ruffians? I would very much like to see how she does against OzyManedias here." He poked OzyManedias in the chest.

OzyManedias, who wasn't paying much attention, blinked. "I'm sorry what?"

Vassago laughed. "I mean, where he comes from, he was the best there was! His skills with a dagger are legendary!"

OzyManedias stared at Vassago dumbly. "What are you even-"

Vassago hopped onto OzyManedias' back, and started to pretend to swordfight with the air. "I once saw him kill an entire pirate crew alone with nothing but his knife and a rapier!"

OzyManedias laughed nervously and tugged at his parcel holding his Prized Possession. He glanced at White Woods, Nameless, and Gabrial. Who even was this kid? Was he trying to get OzyManedias killed?

"Oooooookaaaay..." OzyManedias grabbed Vassago and set him down. "Ehehehehe... You have a very wild imagination..." He patted the strange little unicorn on the head. "You should probably stop talking now..." OzyManedias glared at Vassago menacingly, but the foal paid no mind.

"Fine... but I'm still going to escort Miss Nameless until i get bored."

OzyManedias glanced at Gabrail, at a loss as to what to do.

White blinked at Gabriel, then grinned again. Grinning seemed to be her natural state. "Oh, nevermind, nevermind, Nameless is safe, and that's what matters, really." She looked at the filly. "You seem to attract a certain sort, don't you, something-something?"

"I do not try to," Nameless said, irritation seeping through her facade of calmness.

When Vassago went on his rather lunatic spiel, both maids stared at him as if he were...not well. "Boss owes me 20 bits," White said. When Nameless looked at her inquisitively, the older mare continued, "We bet that I would not be able to meet a pony more crazy than she. I should've realised sooner that anypony willing to draw her ire would fit the mark."

"But Mr Vassago isn't," Nameless said bluntly, "He is instead trying to get another pony to die in his stead, even though, Mr Ozymanedias would have no reason to kill himself for Mr Vassago. I think he forgets that even if he knows a lot about many ponies, those same ponies may not know about, and thus not care one little bit for, Mr Vassago himself." She paused. "Are we going to tell Loyal?"

"Do you think she would want to bother herself? Unless the household was under any threat, I don't think she would really care. Sooo..."

As one pony, they looked back at Vassago. It was White that said, "Vassago, was it? I'm sure that Nameless is very charmed that such a...unique colt such as yourself has taken an interest in her, but I cannot in good concience let you pursue her without strongly suggesting that you don't if you value your heartbeat."

Nameless looked at the other two. She wondered what to say, then remembered Renny, and what, in the end, happened to him. "I am sure that nothing I will say will make you change your minds, but I will try, anyway." She took a deep breath. "This thing you call 'justice' is not worth running after. Maybe in other places, but not here. In the end, you will either die, or become the very things you hate. Just find some ponies worth looking after, and keep them safe. If you try to extend this to everypony..."

White looked at the expression on Nameless' face and did her best to hide the shock. It was an expression she had seen before, but not on her. Not on Nameless.

"...then there is nothing anypony can do to stop you falling."

Gabrial looks at Vassago, the young colt was going to get somepony hurt, and not only that, a pony who didn’t want any part in a fight. Gabrial walks slowly towards Vassago, as Miss White assured Gabrial no trouble was coming Nameless’ way, he kneels to eye level with the colt, and instead of a cold hard stare, he gives the young Unicorn a soft smile, and allows his crimson red eyes to shine little, “Instead of a fight, why don’t you, Ozy and I go get ice cream, then I shall make sure you two get home safe, and sound?” Gabrial then heard Miss. Nameless’ words, and he only smiles and looks to Nameless and kneels, and stands tall,” Miss. Nameless with all due respect, you do seem to know this city far better than I, and as it seems your words betray a wisdom, far beyond your age, I will say this, you’re right, nothing you could say to me, will keep me from my pursuit of Justice, but not just justice, but the protection of the innocent, from what I have seen of this city, They need a ray of light far more than any other city I have ever seen, Miss. Nameless, I thank you again from the bottom of my heart, and I do hope that we could be friends one day, and until that day I shall always respect the Lady who aided me, As for me falling… I just don’t see it happening, I hold fast to my need to protect the innocent, and to serve Justice, and one day in this city, I hope to be able to put up my sword and never have to worry of using it on another pony ever.” Gabrial’s eyes almost burned brightly, his pride, his honor, his kind nature, and his good heart, “Miss White, Miss. Nameless, I hope you both a good day, and hope to meet both of you again on more pleasant note.” He then looks to the other ponies and smiles nodding to them, then looks to Ozy and Vassago,” Shall we go get Ice Cream?” His eyes bright, his smile genuine.

Why didn't they understand.

Vassago was saving OzyManedias. If he fought Loyal now then nopony would get killled because he had to do other things before he died!

He stared passively at the maids of the Household, the rookie guard, and the pony who will have to be his friend. Nopony would understand, even if he told them.

And he didn't like the way that the two maids were talking about him.

"I think he forgets that even if he knows a lot about many ponies, those same ponies may not know about, and thus not care one little bit for, Mr Vassago himself."

Vassago's eyes widened slightly. His Masters had warned him. Every single time. Friendship is a game of give and take, and you cannot just take or give or somepony is going to end up hating the other. STUPID STUPID STUPID.

He grabbed a piece of paper and ferociously started to write down, ever so often glancing up to look thoughtfully at Nameless.

"Vassago, was it? I'm sure that Nameless is very charmed that such a...unique colt such as yourself has taken an interest in her, but I cannot in good concience let you pursue her without strongly suggesting that you don't if you value your heartbeat."

"Heartbeat? You don't need a heartbeat. As long as the synapses in your brain continue to function, your body will function. That's where zombies come from." He mumbled absently, not caring to look up from the piece of paper he had laid on the pavement.

The guard knelt down to him.

“Instead of a fight, why don’t you, Ozy and I go get ice cream, then I shall make sure you two get home safe, and sound?”

Vassago looked up and met Gabrial's kindhearted smile. "What? oh right that. Sorry Ozy. Ice cream is fine. Nameless likes Vanilla. I like Raspberry sherbert." He continued to write things down.

He did not want to annoy Nameless. He wanted Nameless to like him, but Nameless did not like him.

This was not a part of the plan.

OzyManedias stared up and down the street, half expecting another gang to pop out of nowhere. Nameless, once again, tried to dissuade them from their current course of action.

"This thing you call 'justice' is not worth running after. Maybe in other places, but not here. In the end, you will either die, or become the very things you hate. Just find some ponies worth looking after, and keep them safe. If you try to extend this to everypony then there is nothing anypony can do to stop you falling."

OzyManedias waited patiently for Gabrial to finish his rant of truth and justice and the goodness of ponykind before walking to Nameless. He stared down at her. The Filly without a name or a life to call her own.

"Could you take... er... Vassago? I'll be just a moment." Ozy waited until Vassago had left with Gabrial before returning his cold, apathetic gaze to Nameless.

"I am truly touched, that you are pretending to be concerned for Gabrial. His enthusiasm is refreshing but you are right. Eventually he will have to fall."

He glanced at White Woods, "Luckily for me, I've already hit rock bottom."

Nameless met Ozy's gaze with a stare of equal temperature. This held for several long moments, until the filly closed her eyes, counted to three, and opened them again. Her expression had again shifted, this one of an innocent filly, one that was more suitable for a foal Nameless' age. When she spoke, it was not the calm subservient tone that she spoke with before but rather one more childish and more appealing to parental instincts.

"Please don't try to go against the mean ponies, Mister. You'll only get hurt, and I don't want that to happen." She shuffled her feet awkwardly. "This is a bad town, and it would be better to let the bad ponies be bad to ach other."

Another blink, and her expression regressed back into its default state, along with her voice. "I know how to pretend. That was me pretending. What I was doing was trying to save you two from a lot of grief, futile as my attempt may be."

When Ozy claimed to have hit rock bottom, she opened her mouth to respond, but was surprisingly interrupted by White.

"Ahem. Sir, with all due respect, I think that's absolute bullshit," Woods' happy tone contrasted deeply with her words, and her smile never left her face. "Rock bottom is when you don't have a home to go to. Rock bottom is when you have to beg to survive. Rock bottom is when your body aches for food, your mind screams for sanity and your heart is silent, for it doesn't believe in hope. I've seen ponies at rock bottom, I've lived with ponies that were at rock bottom. I've seen ponies hit rock bottom before my eyes...you, sir, don't even come close"

As Gabrial smiles to the young colt, he speaks with calm rather cheerful tone, as they walk towards the Ice Cream shop in a safer part of the city, blissfully unaware of the conversation going on between Ozy, Miss. Nameless, and Miss. White ” Vassago, How did you come to this city? And how long have you been in this city?” As Gabrial enters the shop listening to the young colt with interest, wondering if this one knew anything about him, about his family, about his secret crush on a certain Disk Jockey, about his fear of the black magic he was very able to perform. Gabrial smiles at the shop keeper, and orders Raspberry Sherbet for Vassago, and looks to him,” What would Ozy like?” He looks to the keeper and orders,” Umm… I’d like a crimson berry cone please?” It was his favorite from Canterlot, and was curious if they had it, but he looked to Vassago, and gives the bits owed for his, Vassago, and Ozy’s ice cream, and sits in a chair looking across to,” Umm… Vassago your knowledge... your intrest in books with knowledge from times beyond your time… to behonnest, you should be enjoying the innocens of youth… though in a city like this… Vassago... Tell me about yourself.”

The fires danced upon OzyManedias III's golden eyes.

OzyManedias III ran through the burning remains of his once great city. It was futile, of course. They would catch him eventually. His armor was nothing more but useless strips of leather now, He had broken a rib and a wing when he first tried to escape. He held his Prized Possession tightly in his unbroken wing.

His fur was singed, his body battered and bleeding, and everything he hoped to accomplish was gone. An arrow ripped through his leg as he stumbled and fell into the street, panting like a dog waiting to be put down. OzyManedias the III looked up at the dozen soldiers that surrounded him. One held a sword to his throat.

"King OzyManedias III, for your crimes against Equestria and her ponies, you are to be sentenced to death."

OzyManedias held a hoof to his head. The migraines were horrible, but not too bad. His face scrunched up for a second, before he took a deep breath and returned his cold gaze to White Woods.

"Yes." He said.

"That is a pretty accurate description." He closed his eyes as he started to walk away. "And Miss Nameless? Do try and be a little nicer to Vassago. I don't know him very well, but I'm sure he just means well. Have a good evening."

"A bit about myself..." Vassago looked up from the note he was writing to look at Gabrial. "Well, the reason why I know so much is I am a professional Information Broker. The truth and facts is what I deal in. I also have a mild interest in the Occult. I also have an obligation towards My Masters, but they don't really care about many things I do." Vassago took a small spoonful of sherbert and levitated it into his mouth.

"Mmmm. Where was I? Oh right. I live in Ponyville, but OzyManedias was in Manehattan, so I was in Manehattan. He is going to be my best friend but he doesn't know that yet." he looked out the window, the small colt scratched the rat's nest he called a mane. "Innocence is just a fancy word for stupid and ignorant. In my profession, I consider that a sin."

"So tell me, Gabrial Heart-Shield, what about you? You obviously have high moral standings, but what do you do for fun? you obviously don't come from here, Canterlot maybe?"

"Good evening!" White said, curtsying. Nameless also curtsied, but said nothing. After that, the two maids were on their way, heading back to the household.

Actually, no. Three maids.

"You are late," Loyal stated.

A maid is never seen until she is needed.

Gabrial blinks as he heard Information broker, and starts to eat his ice cream, this young colt couldn’t have been one of the dealers of knowledge, though with his interest of the occult, and the power of these “Masters” could. Gabrial could only feel sorrow for this young colt, for him to cast aside his innocence; life must have been truly hard… He then asked about Gabrial, “I... well yes, I am from Canterlot and... well... I listen to music and read, and practice my magic’s, but I must admit recently I have been listening to more music, I come from a family of Guards from my fore fathers, to me.” Gabrial smiles and looks around and notices a poster, to DJ-Pon3 concert, Gabrial’s eyes widen little, and thinks with in his mind, OH YES!!!!!!!!! AFTER MY SHIFT I AM GETTING A TICKET!!!! Gabrial blinks and looks back to Vassago and smiles “Umm Vassago, do you know anything about me, minus what I just told you?” Gabrial was curious, and then asks “How long have you known Ozy?”

Vassago stared in amusement at the way Gabrial's face lit up at the sight of the poster. "Well now I know that you must love DJ-Pon3. But honestly I don't know much about you specifically. I know a little bit about the precinct you are currently working at but that's it." He munched on more of his delicious sherbert, savoring the tangy taste before continuing.

"Ozy? Oh I've been watching him for a while. He came to Ponyville about two years ago with nothing! Stumbled out of the Everfree with nothing but a book. Funny thing is I can't find anything about him before two years ago. He settled in and now runs a small Cafe on the far end of town. I live just across the street so I can keep a good eye on him. He just met me today. He doesn't know me very well." Vassago giggled childishly as he finished his sherbet.

"And this one time, when he went out once I HELLO OZY we were just talking about you!"

OzyManedias opened the door to the ice cream shop and sat down with Gabrial and Vassago. Ignoring the foal's comment, the older stallion turned to Gabrial. "So. what now?"

Gabrial looks to Vassago as his face turns a bit red, not quite as his magic, but still for a pale pony it was noticeable, as he heard about how he and Vassago met Ozy, his eyes focused “Just nowhere… hmm.. reminde me not to get on your bad side Vassago, umm…” Gabrial couldent help but think about the questions he could ask about DJ-Pon3, but he shook his head, and needed to focus, and as he was about to ask something as Ozy enters and asks “So. What now?” Gabrial smiles to Ozy, and offers some ice cream, “First, you should eat something, then I’ll escort you two to a safe place, then I need to report to my CO about the incendent, ofcoarse some details, omitted, like names, and how I know some of my fellow guards are…” Gabrial narrows his eyes, his horn glows as he shakes his head again to focus, music playing in his head to calm his nevers, he will end this corruption, and make this place a place where ponies could raise their foals.

“Just nowhere… hmm.. remind me not to get on your bad side Vassago, umm…”

Vassago giggled at the guard and walked over to throw away his empty paper bowl.

“First, you should eat something..."

Ice cream? OzyManedias stared at the cone as if it could bite him. They never had Ice Cream in the desert... only sand and gusts. He took a bite and slowly munched, flinching as the ice-cold soft serve froze his mouth. He stopped for a moment to listen to Gabrial.

"...then I’ll escort you two to a safe place, then I need to report to my CO about the incendent, of coarse some details, omitted, like names, and how I know some of my fellow guards are…”

"Are in the Mafia's pockets?" OzyManedias offered helpfully. "No, I think it best if-"

"And I!" Vassago quipped.

"Yes and you, stayed with our little guard here. Who knows if those nice ponies from the alleyway should choose to attack again?" It was rather cruel. OzyManedias knew it. Using the guard as bait was not the most noble thing to do, but he could catch a thug and then he could interrogate him and then take down the family he worked for and then...

OzyManedias mentally took a deep breath. Calm the buck down, he said to himself.

Gabrial looks to Ozy, he was blunt, but he was right, there was something deep and dark in this town, and the only way to get the city on the right track was to weed out the corruption within the guard… “I… no, I will be escorting you to a safe place, and theres not a thing you can say that can change my mind.” Gabrial looks at Ozy and Vassago, he was not going to budge, for their safty, hed rather be the only one who got hurt, should things go bad. Gabrial looks at the poster one more time, and smiles, then looks to Ozy and Vassago, and nods, “Where’s the safest place you two feel you can be, for now, and if you need something, please don’t hesitate to look for me, I will not risk an innocent pony.” Gabrial smiles his crimson red eyes, glow with kindness.

"Okay." OzyManedias and Vassago responded as one, much to one another's surprise.

OzyManedias licked at his ice cream and blew a pesky lock of mane from his eye. "That's fine. You should probably take me to the train station. I live in PonyVille you see and I will have to catch the latest bus out of here."

Vassago nodded. "Same. The train station."

Ozy finished his ice cream, quite a delicious treat, and got up. He was ready to follow Gabrial and be a good, honest, and law-abiding citizen.

Gabrial smiles and nods, “Then lets get going.” Gabrial smiles and leads the two to the train station, and then looks to Vassago, and Ozy and speaks with a unofficial tone” Well… I hate say good bye, but instead, I will say, I will see you both sooner or later, and stay safe.” Gabrial smiles and pats Vassago on the head, “Be good Vassago, please don’t bering too much chaos to Ozy…” Gabrial smiles and looks to Ozy,” Ozy, I hope any legal endevors you attempt, and may Celestia always shine her grace upon you.” Gabrial smiles as he buys tickets for both Ozy, and Vassago.

"Will do." Vassago smiled sweetly.

"Why... er... thank you." OzyManedias smiled uneasily. He never really was one for the hole Princess = immortal goddess of light. Even royalty bled. Anything that bled was mortal.

The two, standing next to one another, looked remarkably like they had known each other for a long time. They waited until Gabrial had left before Vassago turned to OzyManedias.

"We aren't actually going to leave, are we?"

OzyManedias smiled. "What do you take me for? Of course we aren't leaving."

"You know I wouldn't have it any other way."

"You know, Vassago? I think you are alright."

Vassago giggled. The Foal of Lost and Found and the Prince from Forgotten Sands left the station after the Guard with a Shield of Heart.
