Gemini watches the stars(Open)

Gemini sits in a clearing, a telescope next to him, as well as a pack of supplies he might need on a warm night like tonight. The night sky above him is clear of any clouds, leaving the stars to shine out in all their beauty. Gemini sighs to himself as he sets up the telescope, making sure to properly adjust it so it's easier to see the constellations in the sky.

Primary heard movement to her left. She quieted herself and stopped the moving brush. She pulled her cloak on to hide her crystalline coat, preventing it from shining in the moonlight. She looked back at her painting of the woods at night. She stilled herself and saw the new pony setting up his telescope. She began to pack up her stuff so as not to disturb the stargazing pony, she tried to do so silently.

Gemini continues to set up his telescope, his ears twitching slightly as he does so." You know, I can hear you over there." He says before finishing setting up his telescope, then sets out a blanket to sit on." I'm not going to be mean to you or anything." He doesn't even look up as he sets out thing he'll need for the night.

"You know, I can hear you over there." said the telescope-pony Prime's eyes widened, not sure whether or not to go talk to him. She decided to finish her painting. She took her paint supplies back out of her bag and brushed it across the canvas, creating the silver moon and emerald pine trees.
"I'm not going to be mean to you or anything." he added.
Prime was shocked, but didn't say anything. It wasn't that she thought he was gonna be mean, she just didn't trust other ponies. Another stroke on the canvas. Prime blinked as she stared at her painting. It was missing something, but Prime couldn't figure out what. She stood and stared at her master piece in thought.

Gemini chuckled a bit to himself, then finishes his setting up. Soon, he pulls out a book and begins to flip through the pages, humming to himself. After a few minutes of searching, he stops on a page, sets the book down, and peers through the telescope to look at the blazing stars above, all the while still humming an odd song while he does so.

Prime added the finishing touches to the painting, she had added a pony sitting on a rock looking up at the moon longingly. She sat back and gazed at the finished piece. She heard a chuckle from the other pony and held back a grimace. She packed up the supplies again and let the paint dry. She nervously strolled out of the cover of the trees to the other pony. "Uh...hi....s-sorry I was s-so noisy. I....thought I would be the only one out here tonight........" She trailed off quietly.

Gemini turned to look at the mare as she strolled out of the trees." Huh? Oh, no problem. Normally I'd go to a different spot to observe the stars, but tonight there's some clouds there. So I came here, where there's no clouds block my sight of the stars. You're free to join me, if you want to." Gemini tightened his scarf a bit, even though the night air was fairly warm, and took a quick look at the book.

"Oh.....where do you normally go?" she asked, standing in one spot, a tad too nervous to approach the pony. She squinted and tried to see him a little more clearly, he was a pegasus, with a dark blue coat and black and blue messy mane. Prime glanced up the stars, beautiful dots of diamonds shining in the black sky. "I can see why you like to look at them." she said more for herself then him. "By the way, I'm Primary, just call me Prime though." she added with a smile that probably looked more like a grimace.

Gemini looked up at where the voice was coming from, seeing the white-ish mare easily, while his dark blue coat made him almost blend in with the night sky." Well, normally along the side of a river bank I found. Good elevation and all that to see the stars from. And it's nice to meet you, Prime. I'm Gemini. Gem to my friends. So, what brings you out here tonight?"

"Oh, nice to meet you too Gemini." Prime said sheepishly, "I just came out here to paint, it's nice outside where it's peaceful, and at night ponies don't normally come to the forest."

"Oh, well sorry to disturb you then. If you want, I can leave you alone." Gemini said in reply, before looking at his book again momentarily." Hmm...Odd. Anyway, what were you painting, if you don't mind me asking?"

"No!" Prime almost shouted, "I mean, uh, y-you don't need to leave me alone, it-it's fine. I was done anyways. I was painting the stars, mostly. And some of the trees." Prime added shyly, hiding her face in her mane.

Gemini looks up in surprise at the almost shout." Well, all right then. It's a beautiful night to be out and about though, huh?" Gemini asked, adjusting the telescope once more to look at a constellation." Ah, there it is..." He says to himself.

"There what is?" asked Prime, tilting her head in confusion. She gazed up at the stars in wonder.

"Huh? Oh, just this constellation I was looking for. I didn't see it earlier, because I was a bit off. Want to take a look through the telescope?"

"Uh, sure." Prime said nervously, blushing a bit. She'd never used a telescope before. She shook her head and walked closer to Gemini.

Gemini stepped back from the telescope, so that Prime could use it." I already have it adjusted so you can see most things in the sky, so it should be all set up."

"Thanks." Prime said happily, looking up through the telescope. She could see all the stars even clearer through the device. She gasped in awe, "oh wow." Was all she could say about the sparkling diamonds. She didn't want to look away, but she pulled away from the telescope. "That's amazing!"

"No problem. Amazing things, stars. Hard to believe that they're so far awake, huh?" Gemini says, looking up at the stars himself." It is amazing, though it's a shame most ponies don't appreciate the sight more often." He looks over at Prime." So, you said you were painting? Mind if I ask what you were painting?"

"Yeh, the stars are beautiful. They seem so close, yet they are so far away." Prime replied, gazing back up at the shimmering gems.
"So, you said you were painting? Mind if I ask what you were painting?"
Prime blushed and looked away. "I-I was just p-painting the trees and the... night sky. It's always so gorgeous at n-night, but pony's only go out during the day." she said quietly.

Gemini nods, not bothering to ask any more about her painting as she clearly didn't seem to want to talk about it." Well, that's true. Have you been a painter long? I've never seen you around here..."

" Well, that's true. Have you been a painter long? I've never seen you around here..."
"Well, I don't live here. I-I only come here about once or twice a year. I l-live in the Crystal Empire." she replied quietly. She thought back to her painting and mentally cursed herself for not making the stars shine brighter.

Gemini looks over at the mare curiously." In the crystal empire? So...Are you a crystal pony then?" His voice betraying only a hint of curiosity." So...Why're you down here then? It must feel warmer here if you're used to the crystal empires colder climate..."

"Yeh, I'm a crystal pony." Prime said quietly, blushing and pulling her coat over the slightly shimmering crystals. "It's pretty warm here. I get sick of all the crystals, plus I've already painted basically the entire empire." she replied sheepishly, her cheeks reddening again.

"Ah, well that's pretty cool. I never met a crystal pony before, but you seem to be the same as us equestrian ponies. Albeit, with a shiny coat. So, you must really paint a lot if you already painted the entirety of the Crystal Empire. I wish I had some artistic skill." Gemini says with a small chuckle, not noticing her blush as he peers through the telescope again.
