I Do....Wait What?!

Sweet Dreams was standing on a podium. Inside a Bridal Shop. Wearing a Wedding dress. You see she had offered a friend to stand in for her and be a model for her wedding dress because she was sick and couldn’t make it. It was a good thing to since they were around the same size. As ponies rushed around her tucking in a piece of dress here adding some there she stared out the window at the front of the shop mostly letting her mind wander.

Recurve trotted along the street, humming a little tune to himself. He was feeling good today. But something in the back of his mind was telling him that something bad was going to happen. Whenever he gets something nice, something bad has to happen. "Oh wow, two sunny days in a row? Yeah, but your friend's gonna die." is what he muttered to himself. Probably not the greatest example, but hey, it works.

While trotting, and luckily not being noticed, he caught Sweet Dreams in a store out of the corner of his eye. A bridal shop? And was she wearing a wedding dress? Oh Faust, this was pretty bad... Recurve wasn't ready to get married. But, it looked like Sweet really wanted it.

Recurve stepped into the shop and went to Sweet. She looked amazing in the dress. He was so worried about marriage. He loved Sweet with every fiber of his being, but, it felt a little too soon.

"Hey Sweet... How have you been?"

(Also, that first line of dialogue was from my favorite Stand-Up special. Felt like it worked well)

Sweet blinked, Turning she smiles upon seeing Recuve and was about to step off the podium when she remember she had to stay still, so instead she smile soft. "Oh I've been just fine been performing alot more often...seems like more ponies are showing up here ever day" She chuckles softly. "How have you been..?"

Recurve never noticed how many ponies came in here. He heard there were quite a few weddings going on. Recurve was hoping that his and Sweet's wouldn't be one of them. From the looks of it, seems like it would be.

"Oh... I've been, fine. Met an old 'friend' the other day before she left for Trottingham..."

Recurve couldn't hold it in. He had to say.

"Okay, I'm pretty sure I know what this is. I'm ready to marry you. I'm sorry I didn't ask sooner, or at a better place. But, will you marry me?"

Sweets was speechless, Here Recurve was asking her to marry him. They had only known each other for a few weeks for Faust sake!!, then she realized where they were in a bridal shop with herself in a wedding dress and then blushes. "W-What Recurve its not what you think!"She says steping down off the poduim much to the dismay of the other ponies. "This dress isnt for me itsa for a friend of mine who was to have her dress maded today but was sick! Im only here because we are the same size!" She says quickly then added "And I Would like to get married...Just..not right now...I mean we havent known each other very long...Im sorry if any of this made you think i was rushing you!"

Wow. Recurve felt really dumb. Looks like they weren't getting married. Recurve gave a nervous chuckle. This was rather silly. Should have guessed. They haven't been dating for too long. His face glowed bright red from embarrassment.

"Hehe, my bad. I sure feel silly. Well, the dress looks great on you. And uh, yeah, sorry about that."

Recurve hoped that this little incident wouldn't leave the shop. He felt like an idiot. At least his relationship with Sweet was still safe. And he'll have more time to think if he'd really marry Sweet. Would take a while, but it's a strong yes.

Sweets giggles and then gasps a bit as the ponies pull the corset on the dress tight, but she forces a smile "S-Silly...Pony.." She says between small gasps then smiles happily when then say she can take the dress off, She nuzzles Recurve softly on her way to the change room "Ill b-be right...back"

Sounded like that dress was on a little too tight. At least she was able to smile and nuzzle Recurve. And hopefully not be strangulated by the absolutely gorgeous dress. Recurve waited for Sweet to change out of the dress.

Time had passed. Recurve was still waiting. The thought kept coming back to him. Would he really ever marry Sweet Dreams? Most likely. Then what happened the other night came to mind. That wasn't very pleasant.

Recurve was at the Tavern, and he met the first mare he ever felt something for after a long time. Rosella Petals. It was an odd night. Recurve was slapped, insulted, and comforted all in less than 24 hours by the same mare.

Recurve was waiting at the train station for Rosella when he found out why she still liked him, or even at all. And how he was confused and kissed her. She told him to stay with Sweet Dreams, but that she'd always love him. Then she left for Trottingham, where she'll hopefully forget about him.

The question was: When and where would Recurve actually tell Sweet all of this? And would he at all?

Sweets hums as she was taking off the dress, then her mind began to wander back to what just happened and the thought of marriage. If Recurve asked her to marry him what then? Would she be happy...would he? He would have to get permission from her father of course....her father...she hadn't seen her parents in years, what would they think after she had run away all those years ago just to turn up unannounced with a coltfriend! Sweets shakes her head, Recurve hadn't even asked her to marry him yet and already she was worried about their marriage! She steps out of the change room and smiles "Alright I'm ready, we can go now."

Ah, she was done. Now Recurve could stop getting these scary thoughts in his head. Recurve led her out of the shop, and hoped that not being surrounded by wedding items would get rid of the marriage idea. He loved Sweet enough to do it. He wanted to wait until he was ready. Seemed way too soon.

Recurve trotted with Sweet. Faust, she was beautiful. Then the thoughts of Rosie came into his mind. He kept a little place for her in his brain. He knew he loved Sweet, but his mind wouldn't let her go. He had to tell Sweet about it, and hopefully he wont die.

"Can I tell you something? And please don't get mad at me..."

Sweets turns and smiles at him "Sure you can tell me anything" But then she stopped walking and looks at him strangely "Why would I get mad at you?"

Recurve let out a huge sigh. This wasn't going to end well... She would very likely get angry and possibly break up with him. He couldn't say he didn't deserve it.

"Well, remember how I told you about my friend who was leaving for Trottingham? Well, she wasn't exactly just a friend. She was the first mare I ever felt something for. And, she felt something for me. When we were at the Tavern, she hated my guts. When we left, she still loved me, after the whole time we've been away. But, in that time, I met you. She gave me a kiss and told me to stay with you. Then the next morning I met her at the train station. We talked a little and kissed again. Then she told me again that she'd always love me, but to stay with you. After that, she was gone. I'm sorry..."

Sweets had been smiling at the start if his story but now that smile was gone. She was upset and saddened by what happened but most of all angry, angry and jealous, angry that he would do that to her and jealous because it had been with an old flame. Even now as the dark fiery pit of anger and jealousy ate away at her insides she stared at Recurve and sighing asked him one simple question, a question that could ether turn that dark flame into a raging inferno or to snuff it out forever only to leave the scared trust behind. "Are you staying with me...because she told you to...or because YOU want to..?"

Recurve got the exact reaction he expected from her. Anger. At least he told her. But now he felt dirty for betraying Sweet like that. He felt like he didn't deserve to live anymore. What he did could never be undone. He may have turned another pony against him. Recurve was really good at that...

"I'm staying with you because I love you. I just... I don't know. I felt bad for her. And still had some feelings left from when we first met. But, regardless, I want to stay with you. You were there when I needed you most, and you're still here for me. I'm sorry I did that. I will do anything, literally, anything to make you forgive me. I don't want to lose you. You're one of the few things I have left in this world."

Sweets closed her eyes thinking, if Recurve really meant what he said and was willing to really do anything...Sweets had an idea, an idea so evil so cruel...Opening her eyes she pointed a hoof at him and said simply "I want to meet your parents."

Recurve should have seen this coming. He could tell where some of his evil went. Must have rubbed off on Sweet. He did say he would do anything. This was a heavy request, though. Recurve hasn't faced his parents in a long time. He had no idea if they forgave him or not. Chances were, they didn't.

"You're so lucky I love you, Sweet Dreams."Recurve chuckled. "So, when would you like to meet them?"

Recurve seemed calm on the surface, but inside he was freaking out. He wanted to throw up in anxiety. He thought he would never have to see his parents again. Oh Celestia help his soul if they still hated him... On top of that, they lived in the Crystal Empire, where he was still distrusted. Even if his parents still liked him, there was the odds of everypony else hating him. He was only doing this for Sweet Dreams...

Sweets smiled, he was really going to do this for her, and even after what happened in his past...he was willing to do this for her. "Hmmm I think the next train leaves for the Empire in two days" She then chuckles a bit "And who knows if this all goes out smoothly then maybe ill let you met my parents in return." She said softly.

Recurve was still nervous about the whole meeting his parents thing. Maybe they'll be a little lighter on him now that he has a marefriend. At least he had two days to prepare. He trotted off with Sweet. He really hoped it would have been anything than going to the Crystal Empire and seeing his parents. He couldn't hide them from her forever...

"So, what do you want to do now?"

Sweets spun around and pointed a hoof in a random direction grinning when her hoof points to the tavern "Let’s get a drink...or ten! my treat!" She says before running off towards it.

Recurve laughed at how enthusiastic Sweet was to get to the Tavern and drink. Almost made him forget about meeting his parents again. Recurve chased after Sweet to get to the Tavern. Hopefully they wouldn't be too drunk and not make the trip.

Recurve was standing with Sweet Dreams at the train station. He saw the train arrive. It was their ride to the Crystal Empire. Recurve took a deep breath and stepped on the train with Sweet. This was probably Recurve's worst nightmare. Going back to the Crystal Empire.

"Once again, you're lucky I love you..."

Sweets blushes and smiles, as she nuzzles him softly. "Dont worry everything will be just fine, I'll be here every step of the way with you. You're not alone." She says as she sits down in a seat by the window.

Recurve sure hoped that Sweet was going to be with him. He couldn't do this on his own. Nor did he want to. He hated his old life back in the Crystal Empire. He didn't want to remember it. Which was one reason he tore pages out of his Crystal Empire book.

"I have to ask. Why do you want to see my parents so badly? I mean, what does it matter if you see them or not? They don't have any effect on us. It's like they don't exist. Not to pressure you out of this or insult you or anything. I just don't know why this is so important to you."

Sweets looked out the window, deep in though for a few minutes when she finally spoke up. "I don't know...I guess I mostly want to...give them a piece of my mind...or maybe just to let them know that they should never throw their own flesh and blood away like that...to have real parents...some ponies would kill for that..." Sweets said still looking out the window, her eyes glazed over as memories she thought she had long forgotten rushed into her mind clear as the day they happened.
