| After the fire that had killed her adopted mother, Oreo stayed near the empty space but she lived in a box in between two buildings. Well, she slept there at night anyways. But there was other things, she hardly went to school anymore, if she did go, she would stay in the shadows, not even talking to Nikki or Sandy. Hardly anypony saw her, and if they did, they wouldn't notice her. She fought animals for scraps of ponies' food. It was a bright day in Ponyville and school was already out of session for the day. Oreo sat on the empty space where her home used to be. She was dirty and her mane and tail were messed up but oddly, she smelt like peaches. She had taken baths in the fountain when it was too late for anypony to be outside, maybe that was the cause. | |

| Sandy trotted around, worried. He hadn't seen Oreo in a while. Her house had burned down apparently, and at first he'd been scared she turned out like her mother. However, somepony had seen her running off from the fire, so she must have survived. He had spent most of his time lately looking for her. He hadn't checked her house yet- his dad had said it would be too painful for her to stay there, but he hadn't found her anywhere else, so Sandy decided to at least check.
He looked around, and saw her sitting there. He grinned, then galloped to her, tackle-hugging her.
"ORRRREEEEEEYYYY! WherehaveyoubeenImissedyousomuchohmygoshwewereallsoscared!"
He held her, just happy to see his best friend again.

| Oreo was digging her hoof into the ground humming a tune as a strange figure ran up to her attack- no, hugging her. She kept her eyes shut hoping it was her real mother here to take her, or even her adopted mother. She opened her eyes to see it was only Sandy. Oreo scooted away a little. Looking at ground. She enjoyed him holding her but she didn't want him to feel awkward. Well, at least awkward as she felt. "Hi Sandy, I've been around here mostly." She realized that he said he missed her so much. It was hard to tell but she heard it. Oreo blushed a little, but it was hard to tell. she looked up at Sandy almost crying, she was on the verge of tears. She hugged him tightly as she started crying. "I could've done something! She's gone and it's my fault! I'm so horrible!" She didn't know why she was telling him this. Oreo felt like he was the only one she could trust. She was in a bundle of emotions. | |

| At first, Sandy didn't know what to do or say when Oreo started to cry and hug him. He wasn't used to crying- he was usually around pretty happy ponies. Still, Oreo was his friend and he had to do something.
"Orey, it wasn't your fault. I asked a guard pony about it, and he showed me a plan of the house. There was nothing you could've done- the way the fire spread, it got to Indigo before you. Besides, even if you don't have her, you've got me and Nikki, right? We're kinda your family."
He smiled at her, hoping what he was saying was comforting. He kept hugging her, doing what he could to help her.

| "But... I just ran, I didn't even try... I'm a coward." Oreo continued to hug Sandy, she was scared, but why? The poor filly was tired, scared, and didn't know what to do. She had missed them too but she didn't want them taking her to go to an orphanage. Oreo started swaying, then her eyes went blurry, and she fell to ground. She had been exhausted for a while and she had used all of her energy for her reunion with her BFF. (Sorry, it's short) | |

| Sandy caught Oreo as she fell. Wow, she must have been tired. He couldn't think of anywhere to take her other than his house, so he carried her there. He got a couple of ponies asking about Oreo, but he assured them:
"Don't worry, she's fine. She just fell asleep."
He took her back to his house and handed her gently to his mom, who put the little filly in Sandy's bed while waiting for her to wake up. Sandy himself got a few chocolates and lay them around the bed- Oreo would need those for comfort. He was really starting to worry about his best friend- she was all sad and quiet now. He didn't really understand how ponies could be like that.

| Oreo awoke to what she thought was a few minutes, she was wrong. It was midnight. She looked around, she wasn't in her box, she was in a bed. She took some chocolate and nibbled it. Am I dead? She laid her head back down, trying to think. All she could think about was where she was. Though she couldn't figure that out. Oreo didn't want to bother anypony, so she stayed laying down. | |

| Sandy woke up in the middle of the night. He was terrible for that- too much energy apparently to stay asleep for long. He got up, knowing he'd just get bored if he waited out the night. He walked quietly along the hallway, avoiding the squeaky floorboard and trotting up to Oreo's room. Well, his room technically but that was the most comfortable one so they put her in that one.
He came to the door and quietly looked in. He saw that Oreo was awake! He felt like tackle hugging her again. Unfortunately, it was the middle of the night and he didn't want to wake anypony up, so he just walked over to her bedside and took a bit of chocolate. Chewing it, he asked her with a whisper:
"So, you alright? You fainted so I took you back to my house to see if you were okay."

| Oreo sat up again to see Sandy. "Yeah, I'm fine, I was just... Tired, and uhm....Thanks, for doing this for me." She scooted over a tad bit and patted the spot next to her. "Sorry for taking your bed, if you want you can sleep next to me, or at least sit next to me." (Short, sorry) | |

| Sandy grinned at the first thing Oreo said.
"It's fine. Anything to help my best friend."
When she offered him, he shrugged.
"Alright then. I guess I might fall asleep in a warmer bed."
He slipped in next to Oreo and rolled over, feeling the warmth she left. It was really comforting somehow. He could already feel sleep starting to take him, and he shut his eyes.
Sandy dreamed of a field of flowers, filled with old stones. Made him gag to be quite honest. He wanted to explore caves and ruins and such. Luckily, he saw a cave in the distance. He ran through the field, starting to notice he looked older- about seventeen. He climbed up the mountain and to a cave. He saw Oreo was waiting for him there. She smiled....strangely. Kind of half shut eyes and a small actual smile. He smiled back, and noticed she was leaning in closer, which was a bit confusing.
Sandy woke up the next morning, pretty bright. He galloped downstairs and started making himself cereal, scoffing be chocolatey mix in seconds.

| Oreo fell asleep about the same time Sandy had fallen asleep. She was facing his way while she slept. She started dreaming, she was taller, and older. She was playing with a colt that looked like her, but a bit like Sandy. There was also a filly, on her back. It looked about the same way. It switched to her laying down cuddling the two foals as a stallion came by and laid down next to her. He nuzzled her, and he looked like Sandy, but.. Different, he was older too and "cuter". She fluttered her eyes open to see that Sandy was gone. She rubbed her eyes, sat up, and trotted down the steps to see Sandy down there, eating cereal. "Mornin' Sandy." | |

| Sandy grinned at Oreo's return, chocolate smeared all over his chops.
"Mornin' Orey! You feeling any better? Ooh! You want anything to eat? We got cereal, croissants, grass juice, daisy sandwiches, toast. All that stuff."
He went to the fridge and noticed a note attached to the door. 'Sorry honey, had to go to work early. See you tonight! -mom'. Sandy just shrugged. His parents were usually home, but there was the occasional time his mom had to go out early, and since his dad was her assistant then they went together.
"Orey! We got the house to ourselves for today! Whaddaya wanna do?"

| She giggled a little at the chocolate smeared teeth of her friend. "I feel much better Sandy, and if you have apple juice, I'd love to have some with cereal" After Sandy read the note then thought a moment. The she smiled from ear to ear with her idea. "Let's make an indoor camp site! It'd be so cool! Then we could sleep in the tents we made, out of pillows and cushions!" Oreo smiled at her idea, thinking it was awesome. It would be fun too. | |

| Sandy got everything Oreo wanted out of the fridge and handed her the stuff. Obviously she could do it herself. He liked her idea.
"Yeah! After I've finished and you've eaten, we'll get all the cushions and stuff and we'll make forts too! Snowball fight with cushions!"
He excitedly wolfed down his breakfast then galloped to the closet where his mother kept all these cushions. Apparently she was always saving them for a rainy day, though they wouldn't really keep much rain off in Sandy's opinion. Regardless, he took a big pile of cushions and put them in the living room to be used once Oreo had finished breakfast.

| Oreo ate her cereal and drank her apple juice quickly. She ran over to where sandy was and helped him out with making the camp. She made a large tent, it looked awesome. she grabbed a flash light and a few pillows made a fake campfire. (sorry it's short) | |

| Sandy built himself his own tent opposite Oreo's and sat by the pretend fire. Weirdly, he did feel kinda warm next to the pile of cushions. Maybe Oreo had put kindling in it or something. He tried to make himself a robot out of cushions but quickly found that this was pretty hard. He shrugged and sat on a pile of them, proudly declaring:
"I'm lord Sandy esquire of the tower of cushions! Who be ye?"
He said all this in an attempted deep voice, though it still sounded like a little colt. Sandy probably would have pouted if he had noticed.

| She smiled and used her prettiest voice. "I am Oreo princess and soon-to-be queen of the pillow empire. Here to ask permission to come into kingdom lord Sandy?" Oreo's voice made her sound somewhat older or at least a touch more mature. She didn't really notice it just sounded pretty to her. She bowed in front of Sandy. It's fun to pretend. | |

| Sandy giggled and proclaimed in his royal voice:
"You may enter, princess Oreo."
He sat on a little throne made out of cushions, though in his imagination it was a huge throne, decorated with lots of jewels and shiny things. He wore a royal outfit- to Sandy this was a tuxedo for some reason. The hall was large and spacious, with lots of valuable ornaments about. A massive pile of chocolate sat to the Prince's side, which he ate with worrying speed. He never got fat though for some reason.
Prince Sandy watched Princess Oreo make her way over to him. They had been friends a long while, and he wasn't that formal anyway, so the servants didn't even blink when his royal highness jumped off his throne and hugged the princess.
"Princess! What brings Ye to my castl? Not that I'm displeased to see you. I never am."
