Evading the Search Party

It was just another normal day in ponyville. To most, at least. Two ponies were sitting inside their home, talking. "They're doing WHAT?!" Sparkster Shower had said in disbelief to his adoptive "dad", Speedy Pride. A few minutes earlier, Speedy told Spark about how he had received word from a mail message that said Spark's birth parents were bringing out a search party to find him and bring him back to his hometown. Although Manehattan was so far away, Spark didn't want to be found either way. Spark started to panic. "WhatarewegoingtodowhatarewegoingtodowhatarewegoingtoDO?!" Speedy took Spark under his wing and looked him in the eyes. "Listen to me Spark." He said. "I'm just as concerned about this as you are. Although your parents wouldn't approve of this, I'm going to help you. We're gonna evade this search party." Speedy added.

Stormy was strolling down the town square, hooves clicking against the stone as she went. The sound of a pencil scribbling along paper drifted through the air, and could be traced back to the odd, turquoise colored pegasus. One wing held a journal, while the other held a quill, jotting down her most recent journey through the Everfree forest.

Her ears pricked at the sound of voices, and she stopped writing for a few moments to listen. Her head tilted slightly towards the noise, and her feet stopped moving to allow her hearing to range further.

"as concerned about this as you are. Although your parents wouldn't approve of this, I'm going to help you. We're gonna evade this search party."

The tone of the words confused her, well, the words themselves confused her. Evade the search party? What search party? 'Search party' implies searching..which is usually rescuing...but if they need rescuing why are they evading it? she wondered, unaware that she had caught only the end of the sentence. Of course, she was sure she'd missed something, something that would make this so much clearer.

With a shrug, she continued on, walking through the town square past the fountain. She tucked the book and pencil away in her saddle bag, while her electric yellow eyes gazed around town. She watched, waiting for the source of the voice. She passed a house, but took no notice of it, as no voices strayed from it. (this would be the house they're in). Her eyes simply passed over the house.

Spark sighed. "Right." He replied with determination. "The problem now is making sure we stay under the radar. My parents don't even remember me, so they wouldn't be able to recognize me or give a good description of me. As long as I integrate myself into the socialists here, I'll be able to stay hidden. As I find it needed to reiterate, I dislike Manehattan and never want to go back there." He added. "I understand that. So let's go get integrated right now." Speedy replied, and they trotted out the door.

Stormy heard the same voice from before behind her, and turned to see. There were two ponies, two pegasi to be exact. One, a young red stallion, the other an older orange one. Stormy tilted her head curiously, listening in on their conversation. They were speaking about staying under the radar, and this also confused the oddly colored archaeologist. But she ignored it, deciding it had nothing to do with her. She pulled out her journal again and continued scribbling in it as she trotted away.

"Hay, there's a pony right now! Let's go meet her!" Spark said. Speedy smiled. "Yes. Let's." Spark and Speedy went up to Stormy. "Hi there!" Speedy said. Spark's shy nature kicked in. "H-hi." He said.

Stormy stopped smack dead in the middle of the street when the ponies approached her. She wondered why they were talking to her, weren't they avoiding a search party or something? She turned to face them, folding her journal and placing it under her wing again while simultaneously tucking her pencil behind her ear.

"Hello. Can I help you?" She asked shortly.
