A Rush To the Hospital

He pulled his snout out of his flowers and gave them both a big grin. He sprang to his hooves, his wings flaring out. "Aw shucks, you mean it?" The male grabbed the strap of his saddlebags and dragged them over to the other two ponies before flopping down in a seat near them.

The pony sat himself in the other seat near them. A silence seemed to ensue around them for a while before Shadow decided to break it.

"So what's your name?" He asked talking to the other pony.

"Oh right, I haven't introduced myself!" He extended one hoof to the stallion. "Hi, I'm Dandelion! Nice to meet ya!" The yellow Pegasus' smile was contagious.

Minty tried to shrink back in her chair, she wanted to be ignored right now, she didnt want to cause to much attention and she was relieved to find that Dandelion hadnt noticed she was from the hospital yet and was hoping he wouldnt find out at all, but at the way her bandages were around her waist, that just seemed to make her want to hide under the table.

Dandelion raised a hoof to push his fluffy mane out of his face. Then his shining blue eyes caught a glimpse of the bandages around the mare's waist. He turned towards her and cocked his head. "Aw, how'dya do that?"

Shadow smiled back and extended his hoof as well.

"Nice to meet you, Dandelion. My name's Shadowfire, but I prefer Shadow."

Out of the corner of his eye, Shadow could notice Minty try to slink back away, and he knew why. He had hoped he'd be able to cast a quick illusion spell but was too slow, Dandelion had already noticed. He could still cast it, but it wouldn't do much.

Minty started to get sweaty. She asked herself if she should lie or tell the truth quietly.
"Umm, I...." she glanced around the room. Well the stallion looked friendly enough and she didnt like lying.
"I...i was ummm.....shot...but im fine! Really!" She said quickly but quietly, and sank into her chair.

"That doesn't sound like fun..." He frowned and continued to stare at her. His mane had fallen right back into the same place, as if he hadn't brushed it aside at all. "Hey, have you been to the hospital yet?"

"I...uhh, yes! Yes i have! And i really dont want to go back." Minty said nervously.
She wanted to go upstairs and sleep in.Pinkie's bed, she wouldnt mind, but Minty knew that it wouldnt be very polite of her. So she sat in her chair trying not to break and go crazy because of the Erie silence that surrounded the table.
"Uhh, so when should your sister be here?" She asked, trying to break the silence

Shadow felt sorry for Minty. People were going to continuously point it out to her that she was injuried and she was already doing her best to ignore it. Shadow was going to try and help with that.

Being as inconspicuous as possible, Shadow lit his horn as his teal aura covered his horn. He then focused to around Minty's waist, also making a teal aura around then he cast the best illusion spell he could with his somehat weak magic.

Out of the corner of his eye, Shadow noticed it had worked and he felt some pride within himself but soon snapped out when he realised he was being asked a question.

"Well, with her being her, she should be coming...right about..."

Shadow was cut off as the door to Sugarcube Corner opened and water was sprayed over them and other very annoyed ponies. The pony then looked around the room and noticed who she was looking for.

"Hey Shadow!" She yelled.

"...now..." Shadow finished.

The pony made her way over to where the three ponies were sitting and conversing. She sat herself near Shadow and gave a hug to which he returned.

"Minty, Dandelion, this is my younger sister, Shimmering Fire. Shimmer, this is Dandelion and Minty." Shadow said as he introduced everyone.

"Got yourself a marefriend do you?" Shimmering Fire asked cheekily.

"Shimmer!" Shadow growled, a blush starting to cover his cheeks...again...

Shimmer just laughed.

Minty was still sweating and was very much not happy, but she did her best to be friendly.
"Uhh, hi? Nice to meet you Shimmer." She said, she was starting to get a bit happier at the sight of another mare, but what she said made her blush.
"Oh uh, no we just met this,morning." She said laughing a bit.
A,Pink pony with a crazy hairdo hopped over to the table.
"Hi! Is there anything i can get you guys!?" She asked happily, Minty shook her head no quickly and waited for the others response

Shimmer soon stopped laughing but a smile was glued to her face.

"Nah I know, I just like messing with him." She said.

Though she mentally high hoofed herself when she saw both were blushing, she does it every time. Soon a pink mare with a poofy mane walked over wanting to know what they wanted.

"Nothing for me thanks." Shadow replied.

"Same here." Shimmer said, then they waited for Dandelion as the pink pony turned to him.

"Okey dokey lokey!" She said happily and then turned to Dandelion.
"Want anything sir?" She asked

"Me? Nah, I'm good right now, but thanks!" Dandelion smiled at the pink mare. He gently pulled a flower out of one of his bouquets and handed it to her before looking at Shimmer.
"Well howdy!" he whinnied, beaming.

"Aww, thank you!" The mare exclaimed and bounced back to the kitchen.

"Hmm I guess nopony is hungry right now." Minty said.
"Uh, it was really nice meeting you all but i should get back home." She alsaid and got out of her seat and started to trot to the door.

"Aw, leavin' so soon?" he asked, frowning. The stallion swished his tail and got up, clopping over to her and ruffling his wings. He moved in front of her and offered her a big bunch of flowers. "Take this with ya, then, so you can feel better~"

Everyone said orders, that being nothing, and the mare left after Dandelion gave her some flowers. He then turned his attention to Shimmer and basically said hello, but in his own way.

Shimmer just smiled and waved back at him. Nothing else happened after that and then Minty said she should be getting homes so she got up and trotted to the door but was stopped by Dandelion as he wanted to give her some flowers, to help her get better.

Shadow and Shimmer walked towards the door as well, as they to were getting ready to leave.

"We have to getting as well I suppose. Nice meeting you Dandelion and nice to see your ok Minty." Shadow said as he walked out the door.

"Nice meeting you both." Shimmer said with a smile as she followed her brother out the door.

The Pegasus watched everypony leave and lowered his ears. "Nice to meet y'all..." he mumbled, then turned back to the table to collect his things. "I'll see y'all around, I guess..." And with that, he shrugged on his saddlebags and ambled out of the shop.

Shadow had seen the gloomy look on Dandelion's face as they all left cause he had turned to wait for his sister. Wanting to quickly reassure him, he told his sister to stay put and walked up to the Pegasus.

"Hey, all is good. We'll all see each other again one day." He said with a smile.

When Minty finally left the building, she took in a breath of relief.
She looked both ways and then ran in the direction of her home,and ran even faster when she passed the hospital. When she got to her house, she walked over to her big rocking chair and fell in it, right when she touched it, it seemed like she whent to sleep, which she did. All the talking and meeting new ponies in one day was to much for her at the moment so she decided to give in to her need to be crazy, and when she wakes up, thats exactly how she'll act.

As he was leaving the building, Shadow saw Minty take and knew she just needed some time to recoup. All she needed was some sleep then she should be fine.

Shadowfire and Shimmering Fire decided they'd turn in for the day and headed home to relax for the rest of the day and Shadow hoped Dandelion would see the truth behind his words.

In the morning, Minty woke and was extremely crazed.
She set a bucket of turnups on the seat opposite of hers at the table.
"Well, hello mister turnups! *twitch*,how are you this fine morning!?" She said with a big,strange smile on her face, she was having one of her rare breakdowns.
She slipped under the table and pretended to be the turnups.
"Well im just dandy! I hope our friends come over today!" She said in a deep voice and shook the turnups a,tiny bit everytime they said something.
Minty gained a bit of her sanity but quickly lost it.
"Well, i dont know...i dont think they should see me like this." She said with a small sad. Expression.
"Why not?! You are totally fine!" The turnups replied.
"Am i insane?" She asked, scratching her chin.
"Completely!" The turnups exclaimed.
"Oh well! *Twitch* how bout some breakfast!?" She said. She then grabbed a bowl, placed it on her head and poured cereal in it along with milk, she used a spoon and accidentaly knocked it over on her face. She simply shrugged and twitched again.
"Oh, well mister turnups! Time to go home!" She said, and picked up the whole bucket,with turnups, walked over to the trash can,and threw the whole thing in. She twitched again and decided to do a staring contest with the wall.

Shadow awoke the next day and started making himself some breakfast. His sister was already out because he had heard her leave meaning he had to organise he day for today.

After breakfast he took and inventory of his herbs and ingredients that he would usually use in creation of his potions and found that he would need buy a few more of his ingredients before going into the Everfree to find some herbs.

With part of his day planned, Shadow set out for the market.

Dandelion was right back to his usual happy self the next morning. After eating a breakfast of sweetened oats he trotted around his house and checked all of his potted plants, then cherrily bounced down the stairs. The first floor of his house was his flower shop, the second floor being where he lived.

Seeing no pony in the shop, he just smiled and grabbed his saddlebags. After putting them on he filled them with six or seven of the bouquets he had in stock and fluttered out the door. The stallion didn't bother locking the front door because he kept all his cash upstairs in a locked safe. Who would want to steal flowers in Ponyville anyway?

Dandelion flew around town in his slow pace, offering flowers to ponies that looked rather down.

Minty wasnt sure what she was doing, but she had lost the staring contest with the wall, then something popped in her head.
"I know! *twitch* how about we go to the flower shop and see our old friend huh!?" She said with a hop.
"Like how long has it been since we have seen eachother? *twitch* like twenty years?! My! I need to go right away!" She then ran out her door and zoomed to the market and stood outside the flowershop door, still twitching every now and then
