Ah well you could make one up without the whole royalty thing and in place of flying she could use her special talent/horn, making friends in ponyville or another place.

Apple isn't royalty I avoid making her royal XD

Oh Sweet! Maybe you can use bits and pieces of her back story turning her 'hybrid-ness' into normal ponies like maybe earth and unicorn?

History: As a filly Apple was always teased and made fun of about how much smaller she was then everyone else her age though she still had two friends to protect her both colts ones name was Toxic the others name was Blood Shed. Even after Apple's parents died they were there for her Toxic's parents let her live with them because if she was to go into a orphanage Toxic and Blood Shed would almost never see their friend again, most foals who go into it end up moving away. As they grew up they spent less and less time together, Blood Shed started working at a hospital, Toxic was training to be a shadow bolt and Apple worked at the orphanage and at her own blacksmith shop. Even though their jobs have weird hours they need to work Apple, Toxic and Blood Shed still find to hang out.

Looks good story wise! All you need is the beefed up personality and you're good to go!! Also, is there a chance you could edit all of these into the first post? It'd make things easier for the ones RPing with you to find!
