| Cyan heart looked around at the dam. She had always wanted to explore such a magnificent spot, but hadn't had the chance in a while now. She pondered if it was really what she wanted to do at the moment. "Hmmmm, How did the water get up there, anyhow?" She wondered. "Maybe their's some secret way? Or maybe a boring one like magic or whatnot." She giggled.
Cyan walked as close as she was allowed and looked over for the source. "Ahhh, so relaxing, here!" She cheered.

| Near the center of the source, bubbles began rising, signifying breathing from beneath. And moments afterwards, a dark grey unicorn, sporting a pair of goggles and a swim cap emered. Taking a huge breath, he dived back down. Following a few minutes of slence, he reammerged much closer to the edge. Blackfire pulled his swim cap off and raised his goggles.
"Showing the world that I am as great as I say that I am. I am Blackfire, the best in the world at what I do. Who're you?" he asked, not looking at Cyan as he spoke.

| "Ummmm, me?" She questioned. "Yeah. I'm Cyan Heart." She greeted toward him. "What are you looking for? TREASURE!? That'd be amazing!" She happily cheered. She ran to a clearer view to watch.
"Wow, you're good at that. Is your special talent swimming?" She asked hastily, hoping to catch him before he went underwater again. She took the Slinky pieces off and placed them in her bag, which she moved over to the tree. "Maybe I could join you?"

| "If you're looking for a treasure, you're looking at him. And an addeed note, swimming is like the eigth best thing I do." Blackfire responded, placing his goggles near Cyan.
"Join me if you will, it's a great way to stay in shape. And besides, it'll be nice to have some company."
With that, Blackfire put his swim cap back on, took a deep breath and dove back into the water, swimming in the great waters held back by the dam. Even he was surprised by his great swimming skills, despite believing that he was more inclined towards heat and fire. Perhaps Blackfire was simply the single greatest of all time at everything ever. Shame that he had given his goggles to...Cyan was it? He could unfortunately not see where he was going.

| Cyan smiled and put the goggles on. "So, he's treasure? He must be the most important pony in ponyville!" She guessed and jumped into the water. She was looking around at the water and enjoying the view.
Cyan pondered on his words. Eighth best thing he does? How talented was he? She fell into a slight bad mood. He was already good at, well, alot of things... and she still had nothing. Maybe theirs some secret trick? She thought and made a sharp dive down toward the bottom. She came back up as soon as she needed to. Cyan waited for him to come back up. "You sure about giving your goggles to me? What if I break them?" She asked.

| Blackfire resurfaced in front of Cyan, examining her horn. Perhaps she had broken it in her past, most likely leading to her question.
"I can just buy new ones. Speaking of breaking, what happened to your horn? Is that why you seem so afraid of breaking things?" Blackfire asked, laying on his back and doing back strokes.

| Cyan felt guilty. "Well, actually. I seem to have a problem with breaking stuff. Almost everything in my house is broken." She informed and swam a tad closer, getting worried of sinking at any time.
"My horn was broken when I was a filly. That's when the breaking streak started happening. So, in a way, I guess you could say that yes. I'm scared of breaking even more of myself, stuff to others, or even others...." She sighed. Cyan tried to quickly change the topic, hiding her flank so he wouldn't realize that she's also a blank. "Hey, what else are you good at, Blackfire?"

| She seemed rather sensitive at the topic of her horn, would probably be best not to question it again. Blackfire smiled upon being asked that question, for he always hhad the same responce.
"To say that I'm good at something would be an understatemevernt. I am the single best at everything there is, ever. I mainly do a lot of carpentry, but if there's something somepony is good at, rest assured that I a better. I pride myself by surpassing every pony in the world, so that someday, they will stop kiddding themselves and see what I've been saying all this time." he said, diving into the water and swimming up close to Cyan.
'"I am the best in the world at what I do. That isn't bragging, it's stating a fact."

| "Oh, really?" Cyan asked in amazement. She swam to his side and stayed their, being afraid of drowning was one of Cyan's fears, even if she was pretty good at it. She glanced around at the beautiful landscape and was reminded that she was in her favorite place. Cyan was afraid of bursting his bubble, but she had to ask. "Even Celestia?" She questioned. | |

| Why did she hAve to burst his bubble? Blackfire had spent the better part of the last eight years calling himself the best pony to ever live, qnd the best in the world at what he does. And that question had been thrown at him more times than he could care to count. He could avoid the question no longer. He had to give his honest answer.
"In all seriousness, yes. I do believe that I am better than her majesty, princess Celestia. Why do I make such bold claims? I am that confident. I bet i could run this country better anyways." Blackfire said, swallowing hard and laughing loudly.

| Cyan giggled and had to pursue the chase of bursting his bubble. She found it fun to pick on him like this, was he really serious? This worried her and decided to hold the question for now. "So, your majesty." She started with a snicker. "How am I doing with the swimming lessons? I'm doing good at least." She commented about herself and slowly swam closer to land.
Cyan kept pondering whether he was serious or not. Could a pony so self obsessed exist? She decided to make her voice sound as if she was serious about the conversation. "I'd rank your swimming... a 9 of 10." She criticized.

| Blackfire's eyes narrowed when Cyan ranked his swimming with an imperfect mark. She wasn't a certified swimming judge. He did smile however when she called him 'your majesty'. Seemed fitting that the greatest pony in existence should be crowned ruler.
"You're doing fine." He said, in a regal manner, hoping to bow, but being impossible seeing as he was in water.
"Maybe someday, you'll find yourself at the olympics. With me, as the ruler giving you the gold medal."

| "Oooooh." She awed in interest. "Maybe that will happen someday. Maybe." She commented. Cyan swam up and dived down again, this time she looked for some sea shells... None this time. She swam back up and smiled. "So, how many medals do you have, then? Obviously more than 10, right?" She guessed and swam closer to make sure her attention was put on him. Cyan had sorta wondered why this pony was so full of himself, but she actually enjoyed it. For some reason the company with him was more fun than normal. | |

| "Come now, It would be unfair for a pony of my skill to be allowed anywhere near the olympics. No, I have chosen to make sure that my carpentry builds my legacy. Get it? Carpentry? Builds?" Blackfire said, laughing out loud at his clever world play.
Blackfire began wondering why he never tried becoming an athlete. He had the physique, the stamina and the proper mindset. Ehh, perhaps he was too busy with his real job, and real success. But perhaps that was just Blackfire's egocentric way of thinking. If what he did was important to him, everything else was irrelevant.

| Cyan giggled at the joke but could tell why he didn't participate in them truly. Cyan guessed that he was actually scared of losing so he worked this excuse out to avoid the question.
Cyan debated whether this theory was correct or not and assumed it wasn't. Maybe he could go ahead and actually win all of the competitions, perhaps? Was he really just being nice?
Cyan swam towards land and smiled at him. "Well, why not compete in atleast one so you have a medal to prove you're not lying?" She suggested and carefully tossed the goggles back to him.

| "Because I have nothing to prove to the world. I know that I am the best in the world, I am aware of that. I don't need a medal to prove it like some washed up athlete in his senior years." Blackfire said, backstroking in circles.
"I will be remembered for the landmarks that I have brought up and the incredible legacy that I will build, no pun intended, for myself. I don't need a medal, I don't need a trophy, my greatness is the reward I am awarded with. Me being as good as I say that I am is my way of congratulating myself. And in the end, that will last longer than some dusty old medal that I would probably hock for spare change to purchase more alcohol and illegal substances because that's what washed up athletes do." he added.

| Cyan winced at this response. Now she had the feeling that he was going TOO far with this showing off business and decided to try and make a stand up to it.
"You know, I like you, but I don't believe you." She bluntly told him. Wow, I'm surprised I said that. She pondered to herself. "Everypony has their own cutie mark and their would be no possible way that you could out beat everypony at their own special talent. You'd have to try inventing, potion making, packaging, flying, stunts, swimming, sports, lift weighing, destruction, clay models, cooking, cleaning, fashion, decorating, writing, history, librarian, teaching, and who knows what else. Their's no way you're the best about that. Plus, leading a kingdom..." Cyan tried to explain.
Cyan braced herself for the possible anger that she was about to receive, maybe she had gone too far.

| Blackfire smiled. This mare seemed to be growing a backbone. Good for her.
"Yeah, maybe you're right. Then again, maybe you;re wrong. I have yet to even try some those things because I feel that they're not worth my time. If you were to think about it, wouldn't some ponies believe that carpentry isn't worth their time? Would any pony believe that sports isn't worth their time?" Blackfire asked, diving below the water and swimming to the land before ressurfacing.
"I don't think I am the best, I know I am. Why? Because I believe it. I believe that I'm great, and hence, I am great. Others could go on long rants on how I suck, but I can always come up with an argument pushing my greatness. I don't let those neigh sayers get into my head. And because I think like this, I am able to honestly believe that I am the best pony in the world. At everything I do. And there's nothing any pony could do about it." Blackfire added.

| Cyan giggled. "So you admit to never doing most of that stuff? That means you're not the best pony, doesn't it? You just admitted it!" Cyan tried to point out, trying to get the pony to stop being so.... well, over obsessed with himself.
Cyan sat down on the grass. Her mane was still drying and she didn't want to move while it was. She took the slinky pieces off her legs and started playing with them. "And, in all honesty, their is no pony best at everything." She stated, tossed the slinkies to the air and caught them on her nose. "Not even Celestia is best at everything, right? She doesn't know how to live like a normal pony, for one."

| Blackfire tilted his head to the side and smirked. She had him.
"Be that as it may, or be that not as it may not be, that doesn't stop me from thinking that someday, I will be able to walk knowing I am the greatest pony to ever exist. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorow. But someday." He said, looking at his hoof.
Blackfire climbed out of the water and removed his swim cap. Picking up his towel, he began drying himself off.
"I'm done with my contaminating of the source. I'm off to do something productive. I don't know what, but boy, will it be productive." He said, picking his jacket off the ground and putting it on.

| Cyan smiled. "Maybe one day, Blackfire. Maybe one day..." She winked. Cyan put the slinky pieces back on her hooves and started to dry off.
"It was fun talking with you! I hope to see you again, Goodbye!" Cyan waved to him as she headed off back to get a nice home rest...
