Music and Merriment

ShamrockSpring trotted into the Tavern with her normal cheerful smile. She didn't come here often since she usually went to bed early so she could rise with the sun in the morning. Still, she'd heard about a new DJ coming to Ponyville and wanted to check it out. She loved music in almost any form so it was fun to hear something new.

It didn't take Shamrock long to start nodding her head to the tune as she made her way to a table near the front. Why lurk in the back when she could sit in the front row? When the song was over, Shamrock clapped her hooves with delight. "Bravo!" she called to the pony on stage. "Terrific!"

Flame disk looked down at Shamrock and smiled a little before starting the next song. he was always turning knobs, or changing the way the song sounded in some way. He began to bob his head to the music as he continued to quicken the beat, change the pitch of each note, or the tuning of it.

ShamrockSpring smile back and waved at Flame Disk. She was glad she'd come. The new DJ was very good and she enjoyed hearing new music. As the beat of the new song got faster, she began to tap her hooves to the beat. It was a catchy tune. Finally, unable to contain herself, Shamrock got up and began to dance a little to the music. It was tricky to keep up at times, but still fun and Shamrock laughed whenever she tripped over her hooves. Sure she wouldn't win dance competitions, but sometimes good music just needed to be danced too!

Flame disk smiled a little more before finishing the song. he used his magic to pick up a new disk and put it on the player, before once again turning knobs and changing the song.

Giggling slightly, Doodle Bug pushed open the door to the tavern and trotted in. It's been a while since I've been in here! Hehe, this should be fun! She thought. She suddenly jumped into the air startled as the next song began. "Oh Doodle, you're such a scardy pony." She whispered quietly to herself and began to dance.

Today had been a productive day for Comical. Well, so he thought, he did nothing but walk around and tell ponies jokes, hopefully earning a bit or so in return. His stomach grumbled, and he wore a grin on his face. 'Twas his favorite time of day, night time, and that meant sleep. After reaching ponyville park, he lazily fell back onto his bench. Tonight it was quite uncomfortable... he tossed a bit, hoping that it would change... the bench had a steady rumble to it, as if from a song. Tonight was going to be a long night... He thought. Comical lifted his head and perked his ears to where the sound was coming from. It was none other than the tavern. The pony let out a sigh and headed over to the establishment.

ShamrockSpring clapped as the song ended. She hoped the new DJ would stick around long enough after so she could thank him. As the next song began she was happy to see Doodle Bug join in the dancing. Having fun was always so much better with someone to share it with. She smiled and waved at Doodle. "Great music, huh?" she called cheerfully. Her own hooves danced a little jig to the new tune, though she missed a step every now and then.

Flame disk finished the last song and started to pack up the equipment. he looked over at the crowd that ha gathered. "well, this place seems to like my music. better then manehatten." he said to himself as he put away all of the equipment.

Comical slammed the doors open, and raised his hoof in the air. "Slow down buddy." He shouted from the crowd. "Play just... one more song." Comical said stumbling in, sleepy, yet wanting to have joined a bit of the party after just joining.

Doodle Bug leaped into the air and shouted "ONE MORE SONG! ONE MORE SONG! PLEEEEASE!!" Upon hearing ShamrockSpring, she stopped and waved. "Yeah, great song! I haven't danced that wildly since I was a filly. Hehe!" A sad sigh rushed out of her as she turned her attention back to Flame Disk. "I just got here... does it really have to be over?" She asked making her emerald eyes fill with tears.

Flame Disk looked at doodle. "Fine. just one more song. i got nothing to look foreword to do back at home anyways. just make more music for tomorrow's show." he said, putting the glasses back on and beginning to unpack.

ShamrockSpring had to laugh at Doodle Bug's excitement. She nodded in agreement. "I never miss an excuse for a good dance." Clapping at the end of the song, Shamrock was sad to see that the show was over already. Soon she was joining the other ponies in cries for more. "Encore! Encore!" Shamrock smiled hopefully. The show was was just getting good, it would be a shame to see it end now.

She grinned when she saw the DJ agree to one more song. "Hooray!"

Comical slowly and clumsily trotted past the two ponies. It took him a second, but he made his way up on to the stage. He confronted the DJ and let out a smile. Then Comical stood still and gazed into his glasses, wondering why he was smiling again. Until it hit him. "oh yeah... make this...a-a good song." He said with a small studder. Comical playfully took his hat off and slanted it onto the DJs head as a joke. He then stumbled back off of the stage, ready to dance what he could.

Doodle Bug waited patiently while he set back up his equipment. "Do you need any help with that?" She asked always happy to lend a helping hoof where ever she could. While she waited, she sat on the floor and paitently tapped a soft beat on the wooden table with her hooves and very quietly singing silent night hoping nopony could hear her.

Flame took off the hat and tossed it back to Comical. "nah. i can set it up. i have done it a lot of time back in manehatten." he said, not looking towards doodle.

ShamrockSpring moved to sit with Doodle Bug, smiling at her. "Hope you don't mind some company. That was some fine dancing earlier!" She chuckled a little at Comical's antics, catching Flame's comment afterwards. "Oh, are you from Manehatten? What's it like there?" Shamrock had never left Ponyville before and the city had always seemed like a world away. Not enough plants though, from what she'd heard.

"Manehatten huh... Well I'm a pony from across the ocean and just recently moved to Equestria. Hehe, that's why my ears and tail are different." She then turned her attention to ShamrockSpring and said. "Nope, I don't mind the company." With that said, she grinned widely waiting to hear more amazing music from this DJ.

"Mhmm, yes, indeed, very well, most likely…" comical mumbled to himself as his hat flew back onto him, he made his way towards doodle and shamrock. "Hello doodle bug," he murmured. And nice to meet you… pony…" he said, nodding towards shamrock. Comical ended his greeting by hugging the floor and dozing off.

Flame disk looked towards comical, smiling. "you wanted a good song, then heres a good song." he said before starting to play a fast paced song with a large bassline. He was always changing settings on all of the equipment every second. it looked as if he never even pause until about the middle of the song, where he looked at comical, grinning.

"Across the ocean?" ShamrockSpring repeated Doodle's words with amazement. She'd certainly never met anypony from that far away. "Goodness that must have been a trip!" She smiled and waved as Comical came over. "Oh I'm Shamrock..." she started to say, before he appeared to fall asleep on the floor. "...Spring," Shamrock chuckled and shrugged. Poor pony must have had a long day.

The music started up again and true to the DJ's word it was a good song. Shamrock was soon up and dancing again to the fast beat.

Doodle Bug nodded then noticed the sleeping Comical and quietly got up, walked over to him and nudged him. Then all the sudden the music was fast paced and booming so she considered taking him back to his bench in the park but then thought against it since the winds started to pick up and blow through the open door. She shivered and went to shut the heavy wooden door.

As soon as the music blasted, comical's head jolted up. "Oh well, it could be worse." He said with a yawn. Comical stood himself up and nodded at the DJ, signaling he had done a good job, as he clumsily moved his hoofs around in a tired fashion, dancing.

Flame looked at comical. "song isn't over yet. just hit a slow part. it will be just as fast as before in a minute." he said,still smiling a little. he turned up the bass on the music before once again starting a beat just as fast as before. He looked at the crowd dancing below him and smiled, knowing that he would not have to move to a different town.

ShamrockSpring did a little twirl as the music sped up again. She hadn't even noticed the wind from outside, she was so enthralled by the entertainment. Glancing at Comical, she laughed in good humor. It must take a skilled pony to dance while being half asleep! It took her a second to find where Doodle Bug had gone and skipped over to give her a quick helping hoof with the door. "Can't have you missing out on too much of the last song!" she explained with a smile.

"Thanks! It's really gotten cold." Doodle Bug said shivering as she pushed the door latch into place then returned to dancing with the others. Upon seeing the sleepy Comical dancing, she couldn't help but laugh. She twirled around, bucked and reared dancing wildly while hoping no pony noticed she didn't have a clue how to dance.
