Personality:Silent Whistle is a very shy young stallion but once you get to know him he will always try to brighten your day with his winning smile. He mostly keeps to himself due to his disability but is willing to try to make friends again if they don't start making fun of him for not being able to hear him. He does have a brave and adventurous side and often gets into trouble with wanting to venture off into the rest of Equestria outside of the safety he's always known from the Crystal Empire.
History:Right after Silent Whistle was born all he did was scream out in pain due to a rare Crystal infection in his ears. The doctors were astonished to find that he had such a rare ear infection and quickly removed the ear drum in both ears causing him to lose his hearing. As he grew older, he found it increasingly difficult to communicate with ponies who didn't know hoof sign language and eventually gave up trying to make friends. It was that way for a few years until his mother asked him to help her cook dinner once. When he was seven years old, he tried entering a cooking competition and won which eventually brought him out of his shell and got him his cutie mark. Ever since then he has always wanted his own restaurant and has been perfecting his craft ever since.

Rp Segment:3. It is pouring rain outside. Your OC spots the light of a tavern up ahead. The tavern is filled with ponies that your OC doesn't know. Given your OC’s personality, compose a brief narrative in which your OC identifies and addresses the situation.
Silent Whistle sighed through chattering teeth as he trotted through the dimly lit streets searching for some kind of shelter to get him out of the icy cold rain that splashed against his already shimmering body. It would certainly attract unwanted attention from ponies that couldn't understand him anyways.
His ears perked up at a sudden light in the distance that beckoned to him. He galloped there as fast as his nearly frozen legs would carry him. He didn't know what he would encounter once he got there, all he knew was that it was warm shelter and it was calling his name so sweetly and gently that he didn't even care who he would encounter there.
Once he reached the tavern's huge wooden door, he pushed it open letting the warmth and light spill out over him making his wet crystal coat shimmer even more. Once he was inside, he shut the door and looked around to see that all the attention was focused on him and that the light shone through him and bounced off of him but he was so cold he didn't even care.
He casually walked over to the fire place and sat in front of it warming his crystal hide when suddenly a hoof gently touched his shoulder causing him to jump. He quickly turned around to see an astonished old grandfather earth pony with a huge white beard.
"You're a crystal pony aren't you?" He said looking wide eyed. Silent Whistle cocked his head to the side trying to read his lips which was hard to do with that awesome star shaped beard. Silent chuckled slightly then pointed to his ears and made the "Pbthh" sound with his tongue then felt ashamed of his inability to converse with this seemingly nice old grandfather pony. This pony reminded him a lot of his own grandfather back in the Crystal Empire. He smiled apologetically and waited for the pony to realize that this conversation would be cut short.
The elderly pony sighed upon realizing that Silent Whistle was deaf and turned around heading back to his table where four other elderly ponies were. "Sorry guys, he's deaf. We won't get anything out of him any time soon."
Luckily that was the last time any pony tried to communicate to him that night. When the rain stopped he picked himself up and walked out of the tavern into the icy chill of the night.
