Cleaning up a mess of problems

Sweet Song sang her last song for the night. She sang beautifully but didn't really care about it tonight, she was too caught up with problems. First, she was about 21 and never got adopted. Second, she had to take care of the fillies and colts at the orphanage but at the same time had to go record a new song of hers. Third, she hadn't found anypony who would be able to help her with anything!

Sweet sat at the bar and asked the bartender for a glass of wine. She paid the bits then just stared at the drink.

Heartspan walked into the tavern and up to the bar. he was not one who often drank and he had never been into the tavern but he had many things on his plate and felt a relaxing drink would be just fine.

he ordered a glass of wine from the bartender and paid his bits. He looked around as he waited smiling at the unicorn mare who say not too far from him.

" good evening miss." he said more out of habit than anything else.

Burning Heart needed a drink tonight. She was feeling a bit lonely right about now. And she was off duty, finally. So why not hit up the local tavern? Even being a Canterlot mare, she liked the simplicity of Ponyville. Much more calm and friendly down there.

Burning stepped into the Tavern right at the end of a mare's set. From the little bit she heard, the mare had an amazing voice. Burning wished she could have heard her. No matter. Burning trotted to the bar and ordered some wine. It was the more common drink tonight, judging from the other two ponies sitting there. She took a drink and looked at the other two.

"How are you two doing tonight?"

"Why, I'm fine, thanks for asking!" Rusty replied, pretending to have been there the whole time and pretending that he was the one that was asked the question.

~10 MINUTES EARLIER~

(Well, I think it was 10 minutes, but I'm not too sure.)

Rusty had ordered two drinks just as that beautiful sweet song started to be sung in that sweet, sing-song voice, trying to figure out how they were made and how things reacted when they were mixed.

Being an alchemist, Rusty had a natural tendency to do this, and was considering getting a bar job in Canterlot. He didn't think, however, that they would be able to handle such a free-willed pony as he.

As the singing began, the pony singing took Rusty away. Who was that? Something seemed to be troubling her later as she seemed to be looking at her glass in a melancholy demeanor. Rusty decided to abandon his drink experiment for now and walked up to the counter, taking a seat somewhat near the singer pony, when that question was asked: "How are you two doing tonight?"

Sweet smiled at everypony, they all seemed to be nice.

"Good evening and I could be better "

Sweet took a sip of her wine, it made her feel a little bit better.

he looked at both the two new ponies that had come up to the bar. One A mare and one a stallion. He smiled at them both as he received his drink. he took a small sip as the first mare spoke.

"Good evening and I could be better "

" Why is that? You have some trouble?" he asked bluntly as he set his glass down.

He preferred to be direct since she would not have mentioned being better if she did not want to talk about what was on her mind. Heart was not so good with sympathy but he did his best as he introduced himself.

" My names heartspan." he continued as he looked at the three ponies " A pleasure to meet you all."

Normally Heart would not have been so sociable but this was the tavern after all and it did little good to be anti-social in such a place.

This was certainly an interesting crowd. A stallion mixing drinks left and right, a sad singer mare, and another stallion that shared part of Burning's name. She might as well introduce herself as well. She took a drink of her wine and looked to the others.

"I'm Burning Heart. Equestrian Guard. And what's the trouble, miss? I'm not the greatest for emotional help, just a warning. But I get it a lot nowadays. Not as much action as there used to be..."

Burning drank a bit more. She felt like she needed to watch herself. She didn't want an incident like the Shy Smiles thing to happen again. Burning was still confused about what to think of him. Hopefully they could just stay friends, as Shy is making it seem.
