Relationships Are Like Two Tailed Coins

Sweets Dreams walked into the living room " Good morning dear" she says siting beside him and gives him a kiss, when she suddenly takes his hooves and places them on her tummy. "Do you feel them?" She asked him as small kicks could be felt. "They are happy their daddy is home"

Recurve felt Sweet's belly and could feel foals kicking. While he was in the Hospital, the doctors confirmed there was another foal sitting in there. They were going to be the parents of twins. It added a bit more stress to Recurve, but it still felt pretty nice that he'd raise two foals that he helped bring into the world.

"They feel great, honey. Have you found out if they're gonna be fillies, colts, or one and the other? Oh, this feels great! I'm going to be a dad, we're going to meet your family, and three ponies are happy that I'm home."

Sweets smiled, and nodded "A colt and a filly" She says smiling "The colt seems to be a unicorn but unless I have some earth pony blood in me..I think the filly is a Crystal pony...That could be a probelm.." She says sighing. "I know what to do with Unicorn and Earth pony foal,Pegasi foal even more! But crystal ponies...There is not a single book outside of the Crystal Empire on Crystal pony foals.." She says deep in thought when she suddenly gets an idea. "Your mother said she was a doctor...right..?"

Recurve tapped his hoof to his chin. A colt and a filly, and one might be Crystal. Recurve didn't know much about taking care of crystal foals. He never had to know until now, nor did he think he would ever need to. They couldn't be that hard to take care of. Crystal Ponies are just another kind of pony. Just really shiny, and maybe a bit more fragile...

"Yeah, she is. And she took care of me, so she must know something about Crystal foals. But I don't think there's that big of a difference. They might be more delicate than, say, an Earth Pony. So when she's born, be careful when you're holding her. Don't want them to have a crack like Daddy."

Sweets nodded and starts to write a letter "Well this way we'll find out and tell your parents the news at the same time" she says as she seals the letter and sends it away with a magical "POP"

She gets up and starts going to the kitchen "Hope you want pancakes!" She says with a giggle.

Recurve jumped up from the couch and stretched his limbs and yawning slightly. After that his stomach growled. His tummy was making the rumblies for some pancakes.

"Pancakes sound great right now. Let me know when they're ready. Oh, I hope the foals enjoy them too."

Recurve stepped outside for a bit of fresh air, and to looking at ponies trotting by. He was surprised when less and less ponies were looking at him like he was evil. Maybe they caught wind that he impregnated a mare, and was loyal enough to stay. Or something far worse had come up. While he was laid out in the hospital, he heard how an emotionless guard broke every bone in a colt's body.

Eeyup, that's FAR worse than him...

Sweets smiled as she starts making the pancakes, She was so happy she started to hum and soon that humming soon turned into a song, a song she hadnt sung in years.A song that would sound sad for those who knew not what it truely ment.

Sweets lullyby by the smell of cooked pancakes. As she plated them she called out into the living room "Recuve Dear the pancakes are ready!"

Recurve heard his marefriend call and say breakfast was ready. Good thing. He felt like he was gonna die from hunger. And just watching ponies stroll by isn't the most exciting thing in the world. He still wished he could practice with his bow. But he promised Sweet Dreams he wouldn't for a while. He also really wanted to teach one of the foals Archery. It's a fun sport, and it could help for protection. Who wants to mess with the pony with the bow and arrows and can rip your head clean off with one shot?

Recurve trotted back into the house, taking a big smell of the delicious pancakes. Sweet was a really good cook. Even if it was just simple pancakes, they were delicious. He sat down at the table and readied a fork and knife.

Sweets giggles at the sight of Recurve readying a fork and knife "Hungry are we?" She says placing a large stack in front of him and one in front of her once she sat down "There is more if you want it later." She says before starting to eat,all the while humming that ever so sad sounding Lullaby.

Recurve took his utensils and started digging into his pancakes. It was rare he had ever eaten this much this fast. Before he knew it, the pancakes were gone, and he let out a little belch. he wasn't going to eat more, in fear of possibly letting himself go.

"Whoops. All the pancakes are gone."

Sweets watched in shock as he ate them all. "I guess you really missed my cooking.." She says smiling. She starts to clean up. "So what are you going to do today...?"

Recurve cleaned his face with a napkin and watched Sweet carry the dishes off. She was showing in her pregnancy, but the starting to be swollen belly didn't stop her from looking beautiful.

"Today I think I'm going to look for a job. You suggested construction or something similar, so I'll look around that field first. Not sure if I'll be hired, though. My leg is still a bit sore. But hey, I'm a strong stallion."

Sweets smiles "You are the strongest stallion I know" She says smiling "Just take it easy... Alright....and behave yourself." She says as she starts doing dishes and putting them away.

Just as she is putting away the last plate she gasps in pain, dropping the plate causing it to shatter onto the floor as she leans on the counter placing a hoof on her belly with a pained look on her face.

Recurve was right about to head out the door, then he heard a plate crash and saw Sweet in pain. He ran over to her as fast as he could, trying to figure out if he could help.

Recurve had no idea what he was doing, so he pulled Sweet towards the couch and had her lie down, and told her to take deep breaths and to calm down. He had never dealt with a pregnancy before. This was all so new to him.

"Breathe in and out, Sweetie. Just stay nice and calm..."

Sweets slowly took deep breaths and slowly the pain from her face vanishes after a time. "I-Im alright now...I think" She says panting softly "T-They are just fussy is all" She starts to get up.

Recurve kissed Sweet as she laid on the couch and helped her get up. After he did, he heard a knocking on the door. He trotted over to it and opened, to find an orange crystal guard mare holding a piece of paper.

"You're Recurve, right?"

"Yes, I'm Recurve..." He was getting very worried what a guard would be their for. He hadn't committed any major offenses recently. The guard handed him a paper. It was a resume for a restaurant in Canterlot.

"A crystal stallion named Silent Whistle heard you were looking for work. So he told me to bring you this. Good day." The mare trotted off and Recurve closed the door.

"Must be my lucky day, Sweet."

Sweets smiled "That's great news!" She says giving a sigh of relief. "So...Whats the job? Is it in town? Maybe we could walk together if its near the marketplace" She laying back on the couch after a few hard kicks were felt.

"All right All right I get it.." She says sighing and taking deep breaths "I think I should stay home today..." She says with disappointment in her voice.

She felt like such a burden to Recurve, she felt like she wasn't doing enough. Sometimes she wondered still if it would be better if she just left,release him of his chains of fatherhood.

She saw how much stress this was causing him, how he was trying to change for her, how he opened his home to her. He has done so much for her and what had she done? Fated him to a life he might not even want.

Recurve sat down and looked into the resume. It was a bit saddening what it was. He would be working at a cafe in Canterlot. Not what he expected, but it was a job. He just wished it wasn't so far away from where he lived.

"It's says the cafe is all the way in Canterlot. Be one hay of a trip, but I'd assume it pays well."

Sweets smile slowly faded,"Canterlot is along way away..." She says softly, He was going to be gone alot "It takes a few hours to get there...When do you start?" She asked sadly.

Recurve looked at the resume again, grabbing a pen and started filling it out. It's a job, and he needed one. Besides, he could figure something out. And he'd be helping out a cafe that was getting started. He filled it out as he talked to Sweet.

"I bet I could figure something out. Probably have to wake up flank early, but I'm sure it would pay well. It's a cafe in Canterlot. And I guess I start after this Mr. Whistle guy gets my resume and thinks I could work there." Recurve finished up the resume, and mailed it back to Canterlot, and looked back at Sweet.

"Are you okay?"

Sweet let her mane fall into her eyes hiding the tears building up in them. She had just gotten him back, she was finally able to sleep peacefully knowing he was beside her at night. Now he was going off to Canterlot, a trip that can take up half a day there and back.

Then her thoughts turned even darker. What if he met someone new? What if he left her all alone? She quickly pushed the thoughts out of her mind. He was doing this for her, for their family. She looked up at him smiling "Just a bit tired is all..I think I'll just go lay down.." She says walking towards the bedroom, it took every bit of will she had not to break down sobbing right then and there.

Recurve watched Sweet Dreams wander over to the bedroom. He was a bit worried for her. Canterlot was a long ways away, and she was already dealing with a bit of stress. he was glad he wouldn't have to be a pregnant mare, ever.

"Well, okay. I'll just sit on the couch and let you rest."

Recurve trotted to the couch and sat down with a heavy sigh. Life was getting really weird for him. He was becoming a father, he might get a job really far away from him, and general moods between him and his marefriend weren't great. That was another thing. They were still only marefriend and coltfriend. He didn't like the idea of marriage that much, though. And they had the trip to visit Sweet's parents coming up.

He looked around and saw his bow again. He picked it up and played with the string, with nothing to do. "I really need to get a new hobby..."

Time Skip: 3 months

Sweets hummed as she packed a few things, they would be leaving for Manehattan this afternoon, to stay at this parents home, in the Elite district of the city. She touched her swollen belly, for an eight month pregnant mare, she was doing well, the foals healthy as ever, but a bit more energetic then she would have liked.

She was nervous even more so then Recurve. She hadn't told Recurve everything about her parents, he would find out soon enough. She hadn't seen her parents for over 10 years, she couldn't help but wonder how this would turn out.

Recurve trotted next to his wonderful marefriend and a soon-to-be wonderful mother to his foals, Sweet Dreams, and kissed her cheek. He was finally going to meet her parents. They sounded nice enough, but the idea of how they would react to their daughter knocked up by a stallion they never met kept creeping up on him. Her belly had made it pretty obvious, but she had been doing very well.

Recurve had taken a few days off of work for this vacation. It was a pretty hard job. Just traveling to work was a challenge. But he could support the family, so it was good enough for him. And he may or may not have snuck a bit of food back home. It was just so tasty!

"Ready to go, Sweetie?"

Sweets chuckled nervously "Ready as I'll ever be..." She turns to her coltfriend unknown emotions swimming in her eyes. "Are you..?"
