MORTAL... snowball fight.

The air was crisp and cold with snow piled everywhere. Usually this armchair general kept to his home and read or played board games to procrastinate so he wouldn't have to edit news articles right at that moment. However, with the temperature below freezing and snow everywhere it was the perfect time for arctic warfare. Now if it was cold without snow, he'd be huddled up to the fireplace, but with snow on the ground he didn't even feel the cold. Indigo quickly darted and dashed in the chilly powder, lifting up snow with his magic and packing it in with his hooves, laying the foundation for an impenetrable snow fortress.

Shala was not the kind of pony to go on walks. Where she was from there was enough walking to do just living your daily life. But here she found she missed it, and the candies she over indulged on the other day needed to be worked off.

She trotted slowly down the path, her eyes on the ground in thought. The events of the other day still made her blush. Her date with Intel made her feel like a whole different pony. She wouldn't even see Indigo until she was pretty close.

By the time Shala showed up Indigo had already constructed the walls of his fort made of tight packed snow with windows melted out in the middle every foot or so. He stuck his head out the window and called to her.

"Be you friend or foe?!"

Shala was startled a the sudden voice. She looked about and was surprised to see Indigo sticking his head out of what looked like a big brick of snow. Slightly amused, she raised her eyebrow at him.

"Did you finally lose your sanity?"

He grins. "Ha! Fat chance. I always build snow forts when there's enough snow."

Shala just stared at him with his head sticking out that mess of snow he called a fort. "....Ooookay. Just what would want to attack you and be helpless to your mighty snow fort?"

"That's a very good question, I'll get right back to you on that."

Indigo pulls his head back inside and stares at her for a moment, estimating how far away she is and soon three snow balls come up from the ceiling and fall onto her like mortars.

Shala honestly did not expect Indigo to do something stupid. Three snowballs on her head and back convinced her that the pony did indeed lose his sanity.

She blinked and shook the snow off her. "Oh, no you didn't. You did not just do that." Her horn glowed and she picked up some snow to pack and throw at him. It became obvious why there was a snow fort now.

Indigo doesn't even bother to duck down, catching the ball in mid air, flinging it back at her while he silently builds up his arsenal behind him.

Shala got another snowball in the face and glared at him angerly. "Oh, IT IS ON!" She retreated behind a few bushes and started to make a pile of snow balls. She was not sure how she was going to counter the fort, but she needed the snowballs until she found a solution.

Indigo lobs several snowballs in her general direction to keep her pinned down whilst he starts to remove dirt in the middle of the fort as an escape contingency should the fort fall.

Shala threw a few snowballs at the fort to try to get him to stop throwing them at her. She caught a few of his to save on ammo. Slowly but surely she began to make a small wall out from the edge of the brush so that she could have a more decent place to shoot from and have cover.

He continues to scoop out earth while snow pelts the fort until he's left with a sizable enough hole to hide in and quickly covers the top. He then decides to build defences by stopping his indirect fire and focuses his magic on absorbing each of her balls into the fort's walls.

Shala began to stop throwing her snowballs soon enough, and focused on getting a decent wall up. It only needed to face toward Indigo so she made it head height with notches in it for throwing.

Indigo let his magic aura die and simply sat in the snow to recuperate his magic. His horn was getting a workout, and he knew it was far from over. For now he simply looked out a window and bided his time.

The guns were silent as both sides stared at each other from across the moonscape. As it was, neither had the advantage. It would take a few more ponies to change that.

Indigo silently thought out different possible scenarios. As of now he held all the cards, whether Shala knew it or not. Now it was a waiting game, and he was the one with a warm coat.

Icarus happened across the Scene, Blinking. "... U-Um..."

Indigo called out "Icarus! Over here before she gets you!"

Shala heard the sound and quickly stuck her head up over her wall. "Iccy! Don't listen to that lying scumbag! Get over here!"

Icarus blinked again. "W-What."

"Quick there's not much time! I need help with the fortifications!"

Shala took this time to throw a well aimed snowball at Indigo to shut him up. "Iccy! Quick! He only wants to use you! He started it!"

Indigo falls over as the snowball impacts and hastily gets back up.

"See how aggressive she is? Don't side with the oppressor!"

Icarus blinked a bit. "... W-What are y-you guys d-doing?" He asked simply, Looking between Shala and Indigo.
