Special Delivery

David Wholeheart walked along the finely paved street, very much in awe. He had never seen so many things.. so many fancy and expensive things, that is. He fiddled with the box, turning it over again and again. No address, just Canterlot, Mainstreet. The small package was suprisly heavy and made no sound when shaken. David hoped he found the recipent soon, or the anticipation might finally get to him. Not watching where he was going he rammed into somepony. Dazed, he looked around. Where is the package?!

The sun shined brightly as a young unicorn walked through the main street of Canterlot. Her name was Ranmione, and she could easily be distinguished from half the crowd due to her cheer, should somepony be looking for her. Well, nopony was anyway, but that didn't matter.

She bounced onwards, looking around. As always, the city was bustling with Canterlot citizens, ponies galloping around trying to get the best deals in shops, yet there was a silence that was rare in most other cities, as if everypony wanted to be fancy even in the rush. Ranmione never really liked these streets anyway; she couldn't even remember what she was doing here. "Oh well, guess I'll go to the park!" she said to herself softly. If she didn't like this place, she might as well not be here anyway. As she turned around, she immediately regretted doing so at that particular time as she collided with another. "Ow..." she mumbled softly.

Hardly noticing the other pony, David eyes darted back and forth searching frantically for the package.
Suddenly he heard a faint 'ow'. He glanced up an saw a brightly colored unicorn. He immeditaly straightened up. "I'm so sorry! I didn't notice you at all! I was so busy looking for.. my.. package.." He lost his train of thought, as he was studying the other pony. She seemed nice enough, but he knew to be cautious with Canterlot folk, since they were most often quite rude.
"Excuse me, but may I bother you for your name?" David was careful to keep his voice neutral, not wanting to send the wrong message. Wholeheart readied himself for a snappy response.

Ranmione stood up. "Nah, it's okay," she said, rubbing her forehead. After all, how was somepony to know she was going to abruptly turn around? Maybe she should start looking where she was going... Yes, that was a good idea. She looked up at the pony standing in front of her; whom by the looks of it was not local. There was no arrogance in that voice, it was purely neutral, and he didn't carry himself the same way, he stood straight, no slouching, but still bothered to look at non-rich ponies to apologise, and his curly mane wasn't styled.

"My name?" Well, that was an unusual thing to do. Request the name of a pony whom he just met through clumsiness. Still, she had made a promise to herself to be friendly, not like the rest of the Canterlot stuck up snobs. "I'm Ranmione," she answered with a small smile.

David immeditaly relaxed. This mare wasn't part of the regular Canterlot crowd.
"Nice to meet you, Ranmoine! I'm David. David Wholeheart," He happily responded. "Er.. now, excuse m do you thing you could help me find my package..?" He turned around and spotted his package- but it was on top of the fountain pierced!
"HOLY MACARONI!" He screamed. "How in the wide, wide, world of Equestria am I supposed to get that down?!" David stomach began to sink profoundly, he was sure he would be fired if he didn't save it. How would he support his famly? He ran towards the fountain screaming."EXCUSE ME! OUT OF THE WAY!"
He stopped suddenly, and read a plague plastered to the fountain. Please do not climb the fountain. David flinched. How was he supposed to get down now?
"Wait a minute.." He muttered. He glanced over at Ramione. Then an idea dawned to him.
"Miss Ramione! Would you- uh.. mind if.. I don't mean to sound rude but.. could you use your magic to get the package down from the fountain?" He stuttered pathetically.

"Nice to meet you, David Wholeheart," Ranmione said. Nope, he definitely wasn't local. There wasn't a fancy-ish accent in his voice. She nodded as he asked for help with finding a package, showing that she would be happy to help. "Well, what does your package look l-" The mare was cut off by him apparently spotting it, shouting in horror "HOLY MACARONI!" Heh. Macaroni. She snapped out of her thoughts and followed the brown stallion as he ran through the crowd, screaming to get out of the way.

In front of them was a fountain, and pierced, was a package, which she assumed was the one he was looking for, and a shiny silver plague warned to not climb it - likely for fillies and colts, as a situation where grown ponies would even think about trying to reach the top of a fountain was a hard one to get into. And these were the times when mayors were useful. Before she could suggest it, David requested her help. Oh yeah. Unicorns. "Sure." Her horn lighted up with a yellow aura, matching her cutie mark, and the box floated over to his hooves.
