Visiting New Places ~Open!~

Blind Side rarely traveled. Being blind, it's very easy for her to get lost. but occasionally, the need for a vacation overcomes that fear. carefully trotting through what she believed to be town square, she readjusted her blacked out goggles. She was never a fan of the drama that some ponies bring up when they see a blind mare walking by. She wasn't opposed to the help, but the idea of others feeling bad for her always made her uncomfortable.

She had arrived in Ponyville the day before, so she got a guide to help her around a little. the guide wasn't around anymore, so she carefully recalled the directions. She had no real plans except to go and explore a little. Being from Canterlot, her sense of direction had to be pretty good. feeling the sudden stop of bumping into something, she carefully listens to find out if it was a pony, a thing, or a wall.

Jessi trotted around Ponyville with her 9 gallon placed precariously over her horn on her head hoping no pony was out and making wishes, spoken or unheard. She'd forgotten her horn wrap at home which was laced with a type of gel that prevents the horn from producing magic as long as it remains covered. She nervously glanced in all directions and suddenly felt as though she'd bumped into something or some pony.

"Oh mah goodness! Ah didn't see ya there, are ya okay?" Jessi bent down to help the mare up. "Ah'm Jezzibelle! Are ya new around here? Ah could perhaps show ya around if'n you'd like!" After helping the pony up, Jessi felt her horn light up underneath her hat. 'Oh no...' she thought as her head jerked off in another direction suddenly giving a filly two lollipops causing the mother to turn around very slowly with a look of sheer rage. Jessi removed her hat and placed it over her now beet red face.

Switchblade walked along the street, watching the birds soar high in the sky, as he watched them he thought up new blueprint ideas. Eventually he decided to watch the path in front of him, watching all the different types of pony going about their day.

Suddenly a group of pegasi flew over him, soaring into the sky, he watched them in awe, wishing that he could be up that high.

It quickly became clear that she had bumped into another pony. Rather, a mare with a rather thick accent. "I'm fine, thank you. Are you ok?" She said standing up. She kept her goggles on in hopes that no one noticed. As she stood, she did her best to act like she could see. "I apologize, I wasn't paying attention." As she said this, she thought she heard the telltale sound of a unicorn's magic. It was entirely possible that it was just a bystander doing something else, however. She didn't want to mistakenly react to something that didn't pertain to her.

over the past day, she wondered why she stayed in Canterlot instead of Ponyville. everything was a lot more quiet and peaceful here. Yeah, she held a good job as a guard back in Canterlot, but who's to say Ponyville isn't in need of an extra guard? She kept this thought in the back of her mind to pick over at a later time.

Jessi just stood there opened mouthed as she grabbed her hat and darted behind a rock quietly whispering to herself, "Ah didn't do it! Ah didn't do it!" while shoving her hat further onto her face as the mare rounded the rock and began shouting. "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOUBLING MY CHILD'S LOLLIPOP LIKE THAT?" Jessi jumped and started explaining herself. "Ah-ah didn't mean t-ta-" when she was suddenly cut off as the mother turned to the filly, who was watching the whole thing unfold, and slapped the spare lollipop out of her hoof. "Drop it! It could be poisonous!"

She then turned back to the mare behind the rock with a death glare plastered across her face. "You had better hope I don't call the guards on you if she gets poisoned or even the slightest bit sick! Come on Vanity, let's go home." She stated now whisking the filly up onto her back and stomping off. With Jessi's self esteem now spiraling downwards, she remained behind the rock shaking like mad and continued to press her hat into her muzzle trying desperately to prevent herself from crying. "Ah didn't mean to... Ah didn't mean to... Ah'm so sorry..." she murmured as the crystal tears now rolled unstoppably down her furry cheeks. This day just turned out for the worst... first she'd forgotten her wrap, then she did magic causing havoc and a guard threat.

Switchblade heard the shouting and walked over to the source, his metal boots clinking on the ground and his armor glinting in the light, he walked over to where Jessi was hiding. He crouched down at her side and spoke carefully "Are you okay ma'am?" he asked Jessi, noting her tears he took a tissue out of a side compartment of his armor "Here, calm yourself down." he said, offering Jessi the tissue.

Jessi jumped as the stallion clad in armor approached her. Still shaking, she stood up and politely took the tissue. "Ah'm so sorry... Ah-Ah mah special talent... It does..." Jessi gulped at the guard and shouted "AH DIDN'T MEAN TA DO IT!! AH WAS-A WISH-THEN GRANT-AND ANGER-THEN RUN AWAAY!!" She stated all at once hoping she wouldn't get arrested while hanging her head and replacing the hat 'just so' upon her head while yet again concealing her horn and praying to Celestia nothing would happen again.

She straightened up and bowed her head in an apology. "Ah'm so sorry Mister guard, sir. Ah, really meant no harm. Ya see, it's mah special talent in grantin' 'lil wishes, sometames unspoken, which could or could not cause chaos of which ah have no control of..." She closed her eyes and waited for her punishment expecting to feel the icy cold hoof cuffs around her hooves at any moment.

Switchblade nodded slowly "I see." he then took a second to make a mental note not to wish for anything when near her. "You don't need to cower away from me, I'm not going to arrest you for making a mare overreact; besides, she is known to call the guards when the most trivial thing happens."

Blind was admittedly slightly confused by the scene unfolding before her. "Sorry to butt in, but He's right. Guards wouldn't act on an overreaction. I'm a member of the Royal Guard, trust me." bringing up her job like that made her feel a little bit like she was bragging. She knew that it was relevant to the situation and would probably help calm things down a little, though. "I'm normally in Canterlot, however. So I wouldn't know the individual."

Blind carefully moved closer to the pair, making sure to pay attention to the hoofsteps so she didn't run into anypony else. She was admittedly a bit perplexed by the granting wishes thing. it's not something you hear ever hear about. There was magic of all kinds, so it might not be that far off a concept.

Jessi nodded and stood up again. "Thank y'all kindly, Ah'm so sorry fa that lil' freak out, ha. Ah'm just a lil' antsy due ta some wishes endin' up small enough to grant but big enough ta cause mischief... Ya know, Ah neva introduced mahself to ya! Mah name's Jezzibelle and eh... Ah need 'ta git mah tape from home before anythin' else happens... unless y'all happen to have an idea of where ta buy more magic preventin' gel and tape?" She asked now completely embarrassed of her actions.

Switchblade shook his head, astounded that he now thought of this kind of encounter as a normal thing, he turned to Blind Side and smiled "Thanks for the help there, royal guards usually don't help guys like me out." he said casually. He then turned to Jessi "I could perform a magic restraint spell that should last long enough for you to get your tape." he offered politely.

((Sorry! Work kicked my butt past couple days.))

Blind Smiled and nodded. "Happy to help!" She said with a smile. Knowing nothing of magic, she stayed quiet. she was interested in learning more about it, but it wouldn't do her any good. Being an Earth Pony, she has no connection to that sort of thing. as she explored this thought, she began to wonder if there was a spell that could give her sight, if only for a little bit. She makes a mental note to visit the Canterlot Library when she returns home.

Jessi's eyes widened with wonder and curiosity at Switchblade's offer. "Oh mah! Does that really work? Is it really that easy??" She thought aloud, now completely astonished. She mentally swatted herself for not thinking of this sooner... All she had to do was ask another unicorn for help... And that's it... But, how hard could it really be to cast this magic restraining spell? She really wouldn't want to be any bother to this nice stallion.

She would have asked a fellow unicorn neighbor instead of having to spend her bits on topical ointment wraps... It was then she remembered how they'd react if this spread by word of mouth... Total chaotic strangers coming to her house consumed with greed, or revenge seeking ponies wanting their small wish granted then her being chased out of town after causing some kind of major catastrophe.

She let out a small sigh as her eyes swiveled around to them both now filled with silent dread. "Y'all ain't gonna tell no pony... are ya?" She asked as her facial features squished into a more serious look. It wasn't like her to be so serious but with the recent happenings she wanted to be extremely careful due to her secret now getting out to two random ponies.... guards to be exact... one with a direct line to the princesses.

'Oh joy... this'll be fun...' She thought sarcastically, now imagining what chaos could reign  throughout Equestria through one small spark.

Switchblade looked at Jessi carefully and smiled at her reassuringly"You have my word that I will not reveal any of this encounter to anypony; I respect your need for privacy." he said kindly, he then looked at the other guard carefully; royal guards didn't usually take so kindly to him.

((Sorry to do this again, but skip me. work kicked my butt this week and I just found out my $2000 gaming laptop can't be repaired. So, I'm not in the mood. Sorry again everypony.))

Jessi's face now morphed into curiosity as she lifted her head up to both of these ponies. "It's not gonna... hurt is it?" She asked keeping her hat firmly upon her head with her hoof in hopes the answer would be yes. The more Jessi stared at Switchblade curiously, the more she began to trust him. As she went to remove her hat she quickly plopped it back on her head still now scared about what could happen and what the side effects would be...

Switchblade shook his head "Completely pain free." he said kindly, he wondered why this pony was so worried; did she think that he would hurt her? "Just remember that the spell only lasts for sixteen hours." he told her. Switchblade quickly took his helmet off his head and laid it on the floor, he then moved his goggles onto his forehead, showing his sky blue eyes looking kindly at Jessi.

Jessi looked at Switchblade carefully before removing her hat. "O-okay... Ah'm ready ah guess..." She said nervously and lowered her horn staring at the ground a bit then closing her eyes waiting for the impact of the magical beam to strike her horn. A thousand thoughts rushed through her head imagining the gain instead of the loss.

But, upon lowering her head and removing her hat, A random wish popped into her head and she sent off a beam right above Switchblade creating a small cloud that poured raisins for a few seconds causing Jessi to let out a small shriek as her head darted around searching for the wisher. Her eyes eventually landed upon a small colt who stared awestruck and then bursted out laughing.

Jessi looked over at Switchblade, smiled apologetically, and just stood there weighing her options of what to do next. "Ah am so sorry..." Jessi said.

"It's fine." Switchblade said, walking over to Jessi "Let's get the spell done before we have any more surprises." he said carefully, making sure of not to wish for anything. Switchblade moved so his horn was almost touching Jessi's, then started the spell, a gentle stream of magic started spinning around Jessi's horn, forming an aura surrounding it, blocking magic, the aura's colour then faded to see through and the spell was done. Switchblade took a few steps back.

Jessi's duo-colored eyes went cross eyed as she watched the aura wrap around her horn. "Wow... that feels a bit funny..." She thought aloud as she watched the magic aura fade into the grooves in her horn with awe. She then took her right hoof, reached up and poked it then flinched expecting a reaction. When there was none, she smiled widely as she placed her hat back upon her head and yelled "YEEEE HAAAW!! Thank ye kindly Mr. Switchblade! Ah hope ah didn't cause much trouble for ya! Ah need ta repay ya somehow... Ooh, ah know!! How's about ah make ya a 'cuppa tea?" She said happily.

Switchblade shook his head to clear it of the pain using that spell caused him, he looked at Jessi and smiled "Sure, I'd love a tea, know any good places?"

"Right! This'a way, good sir!" She said suddenly bolting off in a south eastwardly direction and silently hoping he'd catch up! Familiar shops flew by as she rounded one after another, her mind dead set in getting there almost as if she was barrel racing again just like she practiced at home! She knew unicorns wouldn't be permitted in the races due to the unfair advantage of teleportation and levitation.

But, it wasn't limited to just that, there were so many other things prohibiting unicorns from entering she eventually gave it up. As they arrived at the quaint little tea shop, Jessi whipped the dust from her hooves on the little wirey rug and delicately stepped into it.

The tea shop was filled to the brim with all kinds of soothing scents, walls painted green with golden leaf designs, the booths were made from a sturdy oak frame along with beautifully hoof-woven yet, elastically plush fabric.

Jessi looked around at all of the ponies trying to blend in with the serene environment and walked up to the counter. "Boy howdy, there shore is a lot of ponies here today!" Jessi stated as she sat at the bar and waited for Switchblade to catch up.
