Family time

It was a usual day at Stripes and Asters house
Stripes sat on the couch, drinking a tea,
looking at the fireplace infront of the couch

Tiger Lily was just waking up in her room, it was filled with various wonderbolts posters.

Stripes sat on the couch, took a sip of his tea and watched the news on TV as usual

Aster walked downstairs, sitting beside Stripes. "You should go and wake Tiger, you promised to teach her how to fly."

"Youre right, honey" he said, nuzzling her before he went upstairs to her room
"Lily?"

Aster nodded and smiled.

Tiger Lily hopped put of bed and rushed to the door, opening it. "Good morning daddy!" She said, her wings buzzing slightly as she smiled.

"Good morning" he said, ruffling her mane "How about we go outside today and I show you how to use those wings" he said with a smile

Tiger Lily smiled widely. "Yay!" She cheered, climbing up onto Stripes' back.

Stripes nuzzled her and went to the backyard
"Alright, first you need to stretch your wings before you can take off" he said, unfolding his large wings

Tiger Lily nodded and spread her wings, they were large for her age, but she felt a slight pain in her wings. "it hurts.."

"You are doing this for the first time, thats normal.. try to move them" he said

Tiger Lily nodded and began slowly moving her wings up and down, trying her best to ignore the pain before collapsing, breathing heavily from the pain. "D-did it hurt this much when you tried..?"

"No, but I see your problem... I studied pegasi for a long time and because of your earth pony genes, your body is not made for flying. You will be able to fly, but not for long distances" he said "Okay lets keep trying, move your wings as fast as you can and try to lift yourself off the ground"

Tiger Lily nodded and lifted her wings again, flapping them as fast as she could.

Stripes grabbed her coat and helped her lifting off

Tiger Lily yelped softly, before she realized she was hovering mere inches off the ground. "Whoa.."

"Thats great! Keep it up" her father said

Tiger Lily felt a sharp pain in her wing, she winced and dropped to the ground, looking at her left wing.

Stripes helped her getting up, "Is everything alright?"

"My left wing hurts a lot...." Tiger Lily said, looking at the wing in question.

"Does it hurt that much?" Stripes said, holding her wing

"It feels like its about to fall off.." Tiger Lily whimpered.

"Maybe we should quit the training for today and you rest your wing" he said, picking her up and sitting her onto his back

Tiger Lily nodded slowly and rested her head on his back, draping her injured wing out.

Aster was inside, making a soup in the cauldron.

Stripes walked inside and lay her down on the couch
