| On the ground in front of his house laid a young stallion by the name of Cobalt Magnus. He looked up towards the infinity that was the sky.
The colt stood upon his hooves, and prepared to take off into the sky to scout around and search for her, the time was swift approaching when the two were appointed to meet one another. Hopefully she'd not become lost on her way here. No, that would be silly.
I should have more confidence in others, I'm sure she'll find her way.
The Pegasus lunged upwards, proceeding to become airborne. His wings flapped feverishly, and soon he gained enough altitude enough where he would be able to see the mare from miles off in almost any given direction. His eyes scouted the sky, though he couldn't see anything. It was probably due to the horrid glare being given off by the sun. Man, this light is making it impossible to spot anything! I hope it doesn't give Spring a hard time too.
His eyes continued to silently scan the sky as he awaited the increasingly anticipated arrival of his storm-making partner of the day. As he hovered in one spot, his mind began to wander, him thinking about several things as the minutes ticked by at an agonizingly slow pace. His mind was even fabricating the sound of a grandfather clock's pendulum swinging back and forth.

| Spring Shower flew up towards the house where she was scheduled to meet her assisting pony today. She had never worked with Cobalt before, only hearing about him every now and then from other ponies in the weather brigade.
It was a shame they had to ruin such a nice day. There were a few clouds, but really a nice sunny day beyond that. She felt bad that they were having to cause a storm today. Then again she never really liked bringing in storms.
As she neared their meeting point, Spring saw a pony matching the description of her partner for the day and approached him putting on a smile, despite her disappointment of the job at hand, "Hey there, Cobalt I presume?" she asked as she flew up to him and extended a hoof.

| Cobalt finally spotted the pony off in the distance. It felt like he'd been in the heat of the sun for ages. Upon finally seeing the mare, he smiled happily, if not meekly towards her as she approached. Adjusting his glasses, he greeted the other pony. So that was Spring, huh? His head tilted noticeably, the Pegasus taking in her features for a few moments.
As the baby blue and white pony drew near, he heard his name called out in the midst of a small jumble of words. The two finally came face to face in the sky. Cobalt nodded, his smile being retained on his face.
"Yeah, I'm Cobalt. Spring? Nice to meet you."
His smile was slightly forced, though not apparent to any onlookers. He was worried about how long the two would get together during their work today. He'd heard around the Weather Brigade that Spring never enjoyed storms, let alone causing them. From what little else he'd heard about her, they were essentially polar opposites.
He buckled down for the worst and hoped for the best as he spoke once more, his casual demeanor remaining undisturbed by the thoughts running through his head. He extended his hoof, giving the mare a respectable hoofshake.
"So uhm, ready to go?" | |

| "Yeah, I'm Spring Shower, a pleasure to meet you," she said with a smile.
"sure is a shame we have to ruin such a nice day," she said with a sigh looking upwards, "I guess you gotta do what you gotta do," she shrugged.
Spring Shower nodded, "lets get a move on," she said as she turned to head for Cloudsdale.

| "Haha, the pleasure's all mine, Spring."
Cobalt nodded, though in his head disagreed at the statement of them ruining the day. In his opinion, making it rain was if anything, an improvement. His eyes looked to the scattered clouds. His attention turned back to the mare, and soon enough Cobalt began the trek to Cloudsdale, ideally along with his partner.
Along the way to the city, he tried striking up conversation.
"So, why're you a weather Pegasus that causes rain if you don't like it?"
Cobalt was more or less speculating the idea that she didn't like rain, though many hints were given earlier on about her general distaste for the stuff. While he inquired her the question; the colt began to twist in the air, and soon enough found himself flying upside down. It was more or less a quirk and a habit of his. Not much more than a pastime.

| "Well, I've always been really good at bringing in the weather," she explained, "it wasnt till I came to Ponyville that I realized how much i love sunshine and I love clearing up the sky afterwards to make it sunny again" she said with a smile, focused on her destination.
"What about you Cobalt?" Spring said as she continued to fly towards Cloudsdale, "What got you in to weather-ing?" she asked. She knew Cobalt really enjoyed his job, and probaly was quite good at it.
Spring was trying to keep up conversation with the blue and teal pegasus, but truth be told her mind really was in another place. She knew that the issues between Thunderclap and Arpeggio was not her fault, but she couldnt help but feel a little upset about it. She just wished she could have done a little more to help.

| "Ah, is that so? Yes, a lot of ponies really do like the sun here in Ponyville."
As best as he could, Cobalt couldn't exactly hide what was now him obviously implying his sadness for how few ponies enjoyed thunderstorms and rain. The Pegasus did all he could to move on from the subject, though.
"Well, to be honest, I simply love storms, rain, thunder, lightning, the works. I love it all and can hardly get enough. Though, a lot of others really hate the stuff. I never really knew why, but to each their own I suppose.
After what could have been any amount of flying, the two finally reached the destination that was Cloudsdale. Cobalt's hooves made a silent thud-like sound of landing on the edge of the city that was an enormous cloud.

| "Ah, I see..." Spring Shower said as Cobalt spoke of his interest in the wetter weather, her mind still a hundred miles away.
She snapped back to attention as they reached the edge of Cloudsdale and headed for the weather factory. The clouds for the storm were already set out for the two pegasi to take in to ponyville. There were a lot of them, they were big, dark, and crackling with energy.
Spring Shower looked at them wearily. She did not enjoy moving thunder clounds, mess up with them and you could get zapped. Set them out wrong and you could really get a mess on your hands which would require the special forces to come in and clear up the dangerous clouds.
"Those are pretty nasty looking..." Spring said a bit nervous looking them over, they may actually been some of the worst ones she's dealt with.

| Spring was evidently busy with matters inside of her head, rather than those Cobalt attempted to relate. It wasn't quite apathy towards him he felt, more of that something was bothering her deeply. He felt near concerned enough to ask; however, this Pegasus had a serious issue with sticking his nose where it didn't belong.
As the two landed on the far edge of Cloudsdale, they wasted no time reaching the weather factory. He'd heard that this thunderstorm would be quite the doozy. Despite the near malicious look of the clouds presented before them, the colt was aware at how dispersed and subsequently milder the storm would become as a result once they hit open air.
His attention took a turn, soon his gaze locking with the suddenly timid looking Pegasus. From what could be gathered, there was a great variety of clouds by size. With an empathetic suggestion, Cobalt said to her, "If it'd help, I can carry the larger and more dangerous ones in your stead."
His head tilted in apparent worry. He'd already seen how far off the mare was in her own world, and she appeared ill-fit to deal with the more hazardous of the storm clouds. Though he was sure it was clear, the intentions behind his words, the stallion prepared to cringe if she thought he was calling her weak. As certain as he was of her wisdom and understanding of what he meant, it couldn't be helped to be ready if things took a turn for the worst.

| Spring Shower raised an eyebrow and turned her head towards Cobalt, "Excuss me, but I am perfectly capable of moving the bigger clouds myself," she said a little insulted, "I'm not a new filly on the job, yknow" she said with a little bit of a huff.
Spring may be a mare, but she was perfectly able to take care of herself and plenty large clouds, she's been doing it for quite a while after all. She hated to snap at Cobalt but her mood was already a little sour from the problems with Arpeggio, and for this pony she just met to assume that she couldnt take care of large clouds...
Spring went behind one of the first clouds, one of moderate size, and begin to push it away from the others, "looks like we're going to have to make a couple trips to get all these out there," she explained to Cobalt, glancing over to the blue pegasus.

| Cobalt now in the situation of dealing with the reaction he'd been hoping wouldn't occur, he got defensive, and reasonably so. His face wasn't a scowl, but a very noticeable frown as his brow furrowed.
"Well I can't help it if I worry about other ponies. You look like your mind is about a thousand miles in the other direction."
He sighed, took a breath in, and continued at a steadier, more calmed pace, "Don't think I doubt your abilities, because I certainly don't, but your mind is obviously somewhere other than the storm. I just don't want you becoming hurt because you were distracted; I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I let you come into harm's way knowing I could have helped prevented it."
The Pegasus felt a burning behind his eyes, like he was going to cry, though he never did. His ears were pressed against the side of his head as he waited for some sort of rebuttal that would label him as a bad guy while simultaneously pounding his testament of concern into dust.
"Sorry for making you feel insulted."
His eyes wandered off to one of the malevolent looking clouds, its black surface only being lit up by the occasional discharge of electricity. While he wasn't looking at Spring, he hadn't torn his attention as a whole from the mare. His body positioned itself behind a cloud of similar size that the Cyan and white colored Pegasus had chosen, and followed suit, moving it away from the mass of storm clouds.
"Time to get started, it might be a while before we finish."

| "I was distracted," Spring Shower told Cobalt, "while we were flying up here with nothing to do," she said back a little irritated sounding.
"lets just get going," she sighed as she began taking her thunder cloud back down to ponyville. She was already feeling irritated thinking about how poorly everything with Arpeggio had gone, and now she was doubly irritated with this other pony jumping on her back.
"Unlike someponies, I am able to focus on my work when Ive got personal stuff going on as well," she explained.
