Cupcake time!

As Iris shot skyward, Cloudwing flicked her eye with her ear, trying to keep it at least half open. She tossed her mane out of her face gracefully and followed her friend through the sunlit gap in the canopy and into the blue sky, watching the pup grow smaller as the distance between them grew.

Iris hovered in the sky for a little, watching as the pack swarmed through the forest and into the clearing. The pup yipped with glee and leapt onto the alpha's back. It began chewing on its ear. Iris let out a short bark of laughter before turning to Cloudwing and saying "maybe a timber wolf isn't the best pet...." she grinned, "you wanna head back to Sugarcube Corner and get another cupcake?"

Cloudwing nodded, "Sounds great! Hey, maybe I should ask for a job there...just a thought." She giggled, still looking down at the clearing, her eyes filled with wonder.

"Yeh, maybe you should!" Iris smiled. "Race ya!" she zoomed in the direction of town before Cloudwing answered.

"Hey!" Cloudwing cried, shooting after Iris. The wind rushed through her mane as she fought to catch up, her wings fueled by unspent adrenaline.

Iris looked back and saw Cloudwing catching up. She flapped her wings and zipped even faster back to town. The wind blew through her mane, the cool breeze felt good on her neck. She landed lightly in front of Sugarcube Corner to wait for Cloudwing.

It was only when Sugarcube Corner was approaching rapidly that Cloudwing realised she was going too fast. She turned her wings to catch the wind and hoped it slowed her down, but it wasn't enough to fully stop her from hurtling into Iris and bringing them both to the ground.

Iris shrieked as the hurdling ball of white smashed into her. Once the dust cleared away, Iris laughed and picked herself up. She offered Cloudwing her hand.

Wing Iris' help, Cloudwing managed to haul herself upright. Her face had turned into a harsh shade of scarlet, showing her embarrassment for all to see.

"Oh come on Cloud, it's funny! Laugh a little!" Iris said happily, letting out a short giggle. "Come on." Iris walked casually up the steps of Sugarcube Corner, waving for Cloudwing to follow. "on me." she added, pulling out her bits.

Cloudwing smiled slightly, then giggled, following her friend and brushing dust from her wings. When Iris stated that she was paying, Cloudwing's eyes shone. "Oh, thank you so much!" She exclaimed.

"No poblemo!" Iris said happily. She strolled up to the counter and ordered three cherry cupcakes, turned to Cloudwing and asked "whaddia want?"

Cloudwing plucked a cherry from between her wing feathers, bemused at how it had managed to stay put, and began to chew it slowly. "Um, how about...uh..." She mumbled, closing her eyes to lose herself in thought. Suddenly, she stamped her hoof on the ground, drawing the attention of many ponies around her. "A deluxe wedding cake! With extra icing!" She cried with a wink, her excitement levels were at their peak, wondering just how deluxe it would be. Of course, there had been gasps drawn from several ponies. A deluxe wedding cake was enormous and the thought of this pony eating it all by herself we, well, outrageous.

Iris's eyes widened as Cloudwing said she wanted a wedding cake. Iris shrugged and payed the bits. The counter-pony soon came back with three cherry cupcakes.
"The cake will take a little bit." the counter-pony said. Iris nodded and lead the way to a table to munch on her cupcakes.

Cloudwing trotted along beside her friend and took a seat opposite her. "Ohmygosh, I'm so excited to see what the cake will look like!" She said, wriggling in excitement and looking around impatiently for the counter-pony to reappear.

Iris rolled her eyes and took a bite of the cherry cupcake. delicious! she thought."why are you so excited about a weddin' cake anyways." she asked

Cloudwing grinned. "Because nopony's ever beaten my wedding cake. Nopony. My wedding cake was the reason I got my cutiemark, so it's really special to me, bit the cake here's been talked up so much, I had to see it!"

"Ah" said Iris. She went back to nomming her cupcake. She gasped in awe as the counter pony returned with a large white cake. that was quick. she thought. "Wow, that cake looks delicious."

Cloudwing's grin widened as the cake came into sight. The white icing was laced around the edge of each of the four layers, half cherries dotted around it. On top there was a tiny wooden sculpture of her, stuck in icing and surrounded by strawberries. She giggled with excitement as it was dropped onto the table.

Iris nearly dropped her cupcake, her mouth wide open as she gaped at the cake. It looked so delicious, Iris hoped Cloud would share with her. "Wow, that's amazing!"

"You bet!" She cried, noting the twinkle in her friends eyes. "You want some?" Her smile was dazzling as she began to count out how many slices they would each get.

Iris nodded excitedly, you could almost see her excitement. She licked her lips and waited patiently for her slice of cake. "Thanks!" She could barely wait for the taste of cake.

Cloudwing took the knife that was carefully set beside the cake and pierced the delicate icing on the first layer, releasing an incredible scent. She cut two large slices, finding jam in the centre but unsure what berry it was made from, and put them on plates, pushing one across the table towards Iris and putting the other in front of herself. "Here's to this glorious cake!" She said, eagerly taking in it's amazing smell.

Iris took in the scent of the irresistible cake as Cloud slid a slice towards her. Iris quickly finished her cupcake and sniffed the slice. She nibbled on the edge of it, not wanting to waste, but swiftly gave up and demolished it. "Wow that's amazing!!!" she shouted.

Giggling, Cloud bit into the cake, letting the taste flood her senses. "Oh Celestia, that is good!" She exclaimed, finishing her slice swiftly, then going back and cutting more slices from the top. "You want another slice?" She asked, sliding more cake towards Iris.
