Personality: He acts full of himself, but that's just a front. Once you get to know him, he's actually quite sensitive and gentle.

Likes: Anything sweet because it's soft on his tongue, being with his friends because he enjoys other ponies company, hanging around at the market place because that's where his best friend's stall is and helping other ponies out because he hates to see others in distress.

Dislikes: Ponies who treat others unfairly because he know's it's wrong, anything sour because he has sensitive taste buds, feeling helpless because his worst fear is being unable to help and the colour purple (There is literally no explanation for this, he just doesn't like it)

History: Cherry Cage was just a little colt when he met his special somepony, but back then he didn't know that. He'd been walking home from school when he saw one of the older colts from the class above him. He didn't know the colt's name, but he did know that he bullied some of the fillies and colts from his class. Noticing that the bully had cornered somepony, Cherry Cage started to try and run away when he noticed the little filly who the colt was towering over. It was Cloudwing, a white pegasus who lived with her grandma nearby. Her school-bag had been taken from her and was on the floor, open, it's contents were spilling over the ground. Cloudwing had tears in her eyes as the colt yelled at her and Cherry Cage, although terrified, realised that he didn't want to leave her to get beaten up.

Seeing that the colt was too busy with Cloudwing to notice him, Cage edged towards them. He knew that he was out in the open, seeing as they were outside a little coffee shop a short way from school, but Cage felt like he didn't have a choice, like he had to go help her. Once he was close enough, Cage listened to what the colt was saying, both Cloud and the bully too distracted to see him. "All you have are some pathetic cupcakes, you don't even have any bits on you! That makes me angry. Do you know what I do to ponies who make me angry?" Cloudwing was sobbing as she shook her head. "They get beaten up!" Yelled the colt, making Cage jump and Cloud burst into tears. Suddenly, without thinking, Cage yelled back.

"You leave her alone!" He cried, watching as both of them turned their heads to look at him. "What did you just say?" growled the bully, moving away from Cloudwing and confronting Cage instead. "I-I said...leave her alone!" He cried again, fear registering in his eyes. Behind the colt, Cloudwing was wiping her eyes with her wing and tiptoeing to get her bag. "Nopony tells me what to do!" Screamed the colt, aiming a kick straight at Cage, but he jumped back, fuelled by adrenaline, and was barely missed by the forceful hoof. Cage was only a young unicorn, he hardly knew how to levitate things yet, but in a rush of fear, his horn began to glow a soft green, and little rocks from the floor began to glow too, then throw themselves at the bully. Next, pencils began to fly out of his bag and straight at the colt. The bully was getting battered, nopony had stood up to him before and having things throw at him had really stunned him. In a flash, the colt fled from the rocks and ran home, hoping Cage didn't follow him.

A bead of sweat rolled down Cage's face as his horn stopped glowing and everything dropped back to the ground. Cloudwing rushed up to him, her eyes still a little tearful, "Oh, thank you so much!" She cried, throwing her self at Cage and sobbing into his shoulder. "If you hadn't come, I would...I would have..." She trailed off as she cried, but cage gently nuzzled her head up. "It's alright, the only thing that matters is that you're safe now." He said quietly. "Um, do you want me to walk you home?" Cloud nodded, this time not bothering to wipe the tears away. "Thank you...um..." She said, looking at him with wide eyes. "Cherry Cage, I'm Cherry Cage." He said as they walked away together, Cage completely oblivious to the shining Cutie Mark that had appeared on his flank. From then on, you hardly ever saw Cloud and Cage apart, they were practically inseparable. Cage felt like he never wanted to leave her. Cage felt like he knew his purpose, his reason to be. Cage had discovered that he had somepony he never wanted to let go, and he knew that he would keep her safe for the rest of his life.

Cherry Cage was trotting down the street when a despairing noise reached his ears. Glancing around, he spotted a filly sobbing uncontrollably on the opposite side of the road. Cage's ears drooped a little, saddened by the poor earth pony, before he walked over to see her. "Hey there little princess," He said gently, sitting down next to her. "What's the matter?" The filly was dark pink, her mane and tail both were a light green with darker green stripes in them. "I c-can't find my ma'." The filly said with a sniff, nudging a rock with her hoof. "Well, how about I help you find her?" He said, smiling as the she looked up, her eyes shining. "Here, if you sit on my back, I'll ride around until you spot her." Using his magic, he set her on his back. "I'm Cherry Cage by the way, who're you?" The filly nuzzled his hail, looking excited. "Strawberry Lace." She said, and with that, Cage trotted down the road, his little princess clinging to his back.
