A new Beginning

Burn was cought off gaurd. "It certantly does." He laughed. "By the way, I belive I owe you a date?" He smirked.

She smiled and got out of bed, doing a short stretch. "You do...what did you have in mind?"

"It's a surprise!" He said before exiting the room shouting "Follow me!"

Solaris raised an eyebrow and started to follow Burn. "What about getting ready?" She shouted back.

Burn had forgoten she just woke up. "Nevermind!" He laughed "Get ready I'll wait!" He could wait a little bit while she prepared. They had plenty of daylight left.

She giggled at his honest mistake, then she did the regular stuff. Finding a brush on a dresser, she brushed her mane into top form, washed her face and all of the hygenic stuff. "I'm comming!!" she shouted.

Burn stood up from the couch and floated to wait by the door. "Alright!" He yelled back.

When Solaris got downstairs, she saw Burn waiting for her by the door.
She walked up to him and gave him a nuzzle. "Let's go." She said excitedly.

Burn was nuzzled and opened the door for Sol and grabbed the basket following her out. He didn't live far from the destination. He folded his wings an hoofed it remembering that Sol didn't like to fly.

Solaris thought to herself, "If only he knew the truth..." she sighed

She walked slowly, "Can you tell me which way at least?" She asked.

"That way." He pointed off to the left. It was right down the road now.

She nodded and walked alongside him, looking around Ponyville at places they didn't see yesturday. "I can't wait to see what you've planned. " Solaris said excitedly.

Burn trotted up to Whitetail Woods. "I thought a picnic would be fun for lunch!" He grinned ajusting the basket with his wings.

Everytime Sol looked at Burn's wings, she was overcome wth guilt,

"He needs to know..." she thought to herself.

She smiled at Burn and followed him. "Sounds like a great idea!" She said happily.

Burn trotted to a flat spot in the woods and spread a blanket. He was oblivious to what Sol was thinking.

Sol helped Burn set up the picnic, ready for a day of fun.

Burn finished setting up and sat down on a free corner. "I brought a little everything. I didn't know what you liked." He smiled at her.

She sat down next to him and returned the smile. "That was thoughtful of you." She said happily.

Burn passed Sol a plate. "You take first pick." He looked around at the sky. The weather ponies had given him a great day for this.

Sol looked in the basket for something to eat. She settled on some banana bread and a small sandwich.

Burn took a sandwich and some hay fries. He turned to Sol. "How did you do? With the hunt?" He asked trying to spark conversation.

Sol turned to look at Burn after taking a bite of bread.
"Im gonna tell him now..." she thought to herself.
"Sugarcube Corner has a spot available, and im almost guaranteed a spot on the weather team. Weather has a bigger pay but... I can't... I can't be on the weather team. " she said, overcome with guilt.

Burn was curious now. "I won't force you into anything but, may I ask why?" He nuzzled her trying to calm her down.

She smiled at him briefly before her willpower crumbled and she felt tears stinging her eyes. " I-its because... I dont know h-how to fly..." she stuttered, shutting her eyes tight as the tears fell down her face.

Burn hugged Sol. He could tell it was a touchy subject. "It's fine." He said softly. "It's not like I your wings are what make you yourself." He dmiled and held her tight waiting for the trars to stop.
