Birth and life of Tiger Lily

Aster lay on the hospital bed, her mane a mess as she breathed heavily from the pain of her contractions, tightly holding onto Stripes' hoof.

A doctor and a pair of nurses watched over her, checking the heart monitor diligently. "Just keep breathing deeply." The doctor said calmly.

Stripes was holding her hoof tightly, he could only imagine her pain

Aster tried her best to adhere to the doctor's advice, taking deep breaths, each one punctuated by a sharp pain in her belly rising into her chest.

The doctor took a note and turned back to Aster. "It's almost time, just keep breathing." He said, going to tell the nurses to bring some towels.

"Its almost there, honey" Stripes said

Aster closed her eyes, feeling her heart rate rising alongside the pain. "It hurts..." She groaned, gritting her teeth.

"Alright, it's starting." The doctor said as the nurses entered the room, setting the towels down.

"Keep breathing, you almost did it" he said, still holding her hoof tightly

Aster nodded and winced softly.

The doctor kept a close eye on the heart monitors as the nurses helped Aster deliver the foal.

Hawthorne sat in the waiting room, looking at Iron. "I'm worried about her.."

"Im sure everything will be fine" she said, sitting next to hawthorne and grabbing his hoof

Hawthorne nodded and looked down the hall, still worried.

Aster winced loudly in pain as the final contractions passed, she sighed in relief as a nurse approached her with a bright orange foal with a dark brown mane broken by orange streaks, the nurse wrapped the foal in a blanket. "It's a filly."

Stripes smiled, his eyes filling with tears as he looked at the filly

Aster smiled and took hold of the filly, nuzzling her carefully. "She's so beautiful..."

The doctor stepped out and walked to the waiting room, looking at the four ponies there. "It's done, you four can see her now."

"Its done?" Iron said
"Lets go inside"
"I cant wait to see my little cousin" Spark said, jumping in the air

Hawthorne nodded and walked down the hall, following the doctor.

Aster smiled and watched as the filly slept soundly, listening to the soft breathing noises. "Tiger Lily.."She said. "Our little Tiger Lily."

"Thats a beautiful name" Stripes said softly

The four entered the room, looking at the filly
Iron smiled, gently leaning on Hawthorne

Aster saw the others and smiled weakly. "Come and see her." She said to the others.

Tiger Lily cooed softly and opened her eyes.

Iron, Metal and Spark stepped closer, looking at her. Spark hopped on Metal's shoulders to see the filly
"She's so cute" Metal said

Tiger Lily extended her front legs and cooed, looking up at Star Spark.

Spark giggled and gently booped her nose

Tiger Lily giggled and squirmed, smiling as she wrapped her tiny forelegs around Star Spark's hoof.

"She's so cute" Spark said

Aster smiled. "Thank you."

Tiger Lily cooed and scooted close to Star.

Stripes smiled, gently nuzzling his daughter and smiling at Aster

Aster smiled.

Tiger Lily cooed and nuzzled Stripes. "Pap"

"Aww, thats so cute" Stripes said, holding Lily on his arms

Tiger Lily giggled and curled up, falling asleep.
